I have three monitors (my middle one is a curved widescreen gaming screen, my other hobbie!) - watching your video on my left, family history open in two different windows on my big centre monitor and family search on my right monitor! I have been using family search/Ancestry combo for a while but you have made it click in my head that I often do see the original document for vital records on family search and just the index on Ancestry (ancestry does often have the census). I will definitely use this knowledge you have just given me more purposely now so thanks for that! I also (when not watching you on my right monitor !) have my heritage up for DNA work currently (I don't have a paid myheritage but I did put my DNA up there when I had the chance a while ago) - using the theory of relativity on Myheritage to prompt my Ancestry tree research (which is my main).

I wondered why KZbin removed this video. They need to have smarter people (Or smarter AI) looking at things before removing. Glad you were able to get this back up again

I use both. My oroblem with family search was I had spent over a year researching one of my Danish lines. I had gone back muliple generations and also siblings and their decendants. Simeone dusagreed and deleted the relationship. If I reattatch, it woyl just end up being unattaced. So Ancestry is now my prime tree but I use both. I also use MyHeritage.

You’ll need to register it in her name and email. Then grant permission from her email for you to manage it. If she doesn’t do email I suggest you set up a Gmail account on her behalf assuming you have the right to do so.

I know Ancestry has its faults, costs etc., but to me it certainly is easier to navigate. I’m not sure if it’s because I’m just more accustomed to how it works, or it’s just not as good. I’ll have to spend some serious time to get good at using Family Search.

Use the “add web link” source on the ancestry profile. As for the image you’ll have to download a copy and upload it to Ancestry. Or use something like a snipping tool to grab a copy.
