No doubt my favorite is Research Notes, Plans & Logs! Nov 22, 2019. Using Surname file folders; keeping a research note for every ancestor (I have a long ways to go with this one); using Word for dictation (not good at this yet); recording macros; and inserting footnotes that auto update. I have changed my entire computer file system from this one episode and I refer to it often. Thanks 100 times over. Mary Lou

Connie, I've got to say my favorite video... heck, it is like asking me to pick a favorite Child!!! I have watched, and re watched, so many of yours and the tips and tricks have really helped! Because of your advice, I am using word for dictation much more frequently... I bought a head set that has made that much easier. and I absolutely agree with northwoods 1000 that your Research Notes, Plans and Logs has been an invaluable AWESOME way to help me find holes in my research and plan much better. I've advised the registrar of my DAR group to watch your videos and she said the inserting footnote macro had been a HUGE blessing to her! (I'm not so good at that yet.) Keep them coming Connie! You are a wonderful resource to all of us!

Connie. Hi. My favorite GeneLogy TV videos are on "Find My Past". You had one a couple weeks ago on uploading your family tree to Find My Past and another one with Questions and Answers and a video on How to find your ancestors on "Find My Past". I am in the Chicago area and my father was from England and my Grandfather was from Ireland. I find your videos helpful in trying to research my family history. If I would win, I would enjoy any prize you had and especially Find My Past. I have taken 3 DNA tests and are still waiting for results of 2 of them. I find Genealogy fun and think everyone should try it. Thanks for your instructive videos & keep up the good work. Thank you. Dana from Chicago.

@@GenealogyTV Thank you Connie. My Father is from England. He left my mom in the USA when I was 1 yrs old. My Grandfather on my mom's side of the family was from Ireland. My mom lost her dad in an organized race car accident on July 4th in 1930 at a PA County Fair at age 3. I am having a tough time confirming my father's info, with no known relatives in England and a common name like Knight from England. DNA so far seems to be on my mother's side of family. Thanks, Dana

My favorite is the #1 video, DNA Cousin Matches. As I had just received my DNA results, the video was very timely. I felt overwhelmed by all the matches. Your video made it less daunting. Great channel and tfs your knowledge and expertise

Tell me about the convention of matriname or the paternal version someday. Not sure if I have the term right. ie: I have a few people, males & female, who have middle names that are likely surnames but no leads. You know, if you have time. : )

How do I find the ship that my parents and grandparents came across from England or Ireland?
@GenealogyTV4 жыл бұрын
If you know the name you can go to www.heritage-ships.com/ and see if they have it. Also, Ancestry, FindMyPast, MyHeritage or FamilySearch might have the immigration records you're looking for... and some have images of ships. I'd search in that order.
