Generac Generator Gas Regulators

Thanks for sharing. I’m changing the 2 nd regulator it’s leaking in the diaphragm and I didn’t know which port to take it out psi going into it generator. I also need a gage to do it. I thought or putting one directly into a port like you did on your primary regulator. $ is the cheapest option.

Hot dang you were about as close to full load amps as the Generac could carry with just the water heater !! No wonder the old gal was huffing and puffing !! Awesome job my friend.

Little embarrassed that I didn’t check name plates before any work, but I heard the hi psi reg squawking so I jumped to conclusions. LOL. Love the Frontier videos!

@@TripleTRanchAndSawmill I do the same thing on occasion....and jump the wrong direction. LOL. The main thing is you got to the answer without too much fuss. I have an old 15 kw propane fired 4 cylinder Onan generator I got off a jobsite. When I got it, it had 700 hours showing on the meter. It's got all the electrical relays and contactors for automatic start but I leave it on manual because I don't want it starting every time we lose power. We are literally 5 miles from the power plant but we can lose power for five minutes at a time. Seldom do we have long periods of outtage. I also would prefer the electronic automatic controls like you have over these electro-mechanical controls.

Generator should have 10 to 12 inches of wc at the inlet of the generator. Your gas pressure is too high.

Could I ask a question? The internal regulator on my unit, there's a propane line going into it obviously. I just bought a 12kw Generac Guardian for 1200 bucks. I'm taking a gamble. Anyway the line was once taped up but it degraded and the pipe is filled with rust. Can I just unthread that from the regulator?

I am not an expert on that part. But u got a great deal so I would consider the whole regulator contaminated and buy a new one.
