Things you should know about not mentioned in the video: Know that transition metals require a number for instance CuSO4 would be copper 2 sulfate. Make sure you know what a pure compound is and a pure substance. Also make sure to know what dipoles are and if you have say 10g of C2H4 make sure you can figure out how many moles or grams you have of say carbon or hydrogen. Don't forget about sig figs and how to name acids. ate - ick, ite - ous. Make sure to remember how to identify aqueous solutions and solid solutions. There's videos to remember such as NAG SAG. There's also acronyms to remember strong acids and know that all strong bases have OH in their formula.

For those wondering at 8, why he simply added 1 and 2 to them. It's because the concentration we are looking for is actually the concentration of H+ ions in the solution, but since there are two moles of H in the molecule we have to add that 2, on the other side since it's a base we have the OH- concentration, however since there is only on mole of OH, the coefficient in front of the m1v1 is well 1. Hope it makes sense, and that I am not mistaken hahaha.

Hey Elana! My name is Emely and I'm currently a sophomore in college. I'm interested in taking the DAT next summer. I saw you mentioned that this vid helped you prepare for your dat. And I couldnt help but wonder how the exam was when you took it. I'd love to hear your experience on taking the dat and studying for the exam. I'm currently trying to prepare my study plan for the dat and I would love to hear your experience and what helped you/what didnt. If you're comfortable with sharing your story, shoot me an email at eruiz18444@gmail.com! I'd love to have a chat about the professional DAT exam. Take care, Emely

@tessstalter72565 жыл бұрын
Do you need to know the labchem section? It was in the study guide
@allisonspurlock57455 жыл бұрын
Bob Builder It was really well organized. Questions about certain subjects appeared in blocks. So for example, the first 7-8 questions of my exam was basic skills questions, like how many protons does this atom have, naming compounds, etc. Then dimensional analysis, there was a thermochemistry portion, gas laws, Lewis structures, hybridizations, electron domain geometries. Those were the sections that stuck out to me the most. It wasn’t half as bad as I thought it was going to be.
@allisonspurlock57455 жыл бұрын
Clemence Declaire I didn’t use the study guide, do you mean experimental yield, percent yield, things like that? If so, yes. I had a random experimental yield question in the middle of my test, but yours will likely be different. I’d review those concepts, just to be safe. :)

what’s up u guys, if ur taking this in 2020, and you have the grey version, just know there’s a lot of math. i got a lot of A’s and B’s but i also guessed quite a bit. i made a 68 which is passing in my class, so i made a D. i also have failed every exam so far in there. so making a 68 was like making a 100 for me lol

whales03 i mean if you can do better than a 42 on an exam then you should make like an 80 on this, so like best of luck to you, and don’t use C as your guessing letter. there are very few of them. stick to A’s and B’s
