What about the soldiers who fought in the rest of that war, not to mention Korea, and many other wars that came later? I know many of those wars like Vietnam and the Gulf were never supposed to be fought, but that doesn't make the individuals any less worthy. It just puts more against the foolish politicians. And what about the survivors of the war?
@TheRealOtakuEdits7 жыл бұрын
I think he means "some of the greatest heroes," though, his statement is still correct.

Rick Fountain I'm just saying a soldier who fights for his homeland is risking just as much. And if you just want to talk about that war specifically, there was around a year of fighting after Operation Overlord, they risked just as much, and just as much was on the line. So saying the greatest heroes is very false. The rest of them are just as worthy

Someday, probably in our lifetime, a speech like this will be delivered to the current generation of American patriots. Words that will inspire and encourage young men and women to, once again, battle against the enemies of freedom and liberty. But the battles won’t be fought across the ocean. They will be fought in places with names like, “Portland,” “Seattle,” “Chicago,” “Minneapolis,” “Baltimore.”
@ronniebishop24963 жыл бұрын
Yes that’s true, but hopefully they will grow up like we did, there were over 700 riots between 1964 and 1973 when I was a teen. So this isn’t the first. Plus that place is full of fire and smoke right now as if Mother Nature is sick of them too.

This speech and The Gettysburg Address are in my mind some of the most prolific ever given in our history. Each time I feel like we are divided as a nation, I reflect on these and am reminded how, despite our differences, when the chips are down we rally together and that makes me very proud of who we are and what we can accomplish together.
