@@stranglestrongidk I think grievous is going to get some buff’s reguarding his appearance in tales of the empire. As it so far depicts him at his strongest and works incredibly well with the darker tone and fear factor. Stuff that brings back his glory days in legends. This grievous might not be 100% perfect but I’m pretty sure the tales of the empire will make him my second favorite interpretation of him.

Grievous is like the Vader of the Clone Wars era. On a side note, I often have a little trouble of pronouncing his real name, which could be said of any other name.

It's so baffling that Lucas took issue with that and made him a "mustache-twirling coward" instead. One of his stupidest calls in the franchise he's ever taken.
@bouncin2207
@bouncin2207 Жыл бұрын
And that was on purpose, but I guess George changed his mind. There is a scene in Labyrinth of Evil where Grievous enters the bunker holding Palpatine, just standing menacingly while the doors open, and blocks a few blaster bolts with his bare hands for dramatic effect on the enemy. A clear parallel to the ESB dining room scene though I haven't seen anyone else point it out.

Vader himself was weak, he only had one win (against ANH obi wan who was past his prime, even TPM Obi Wan was tougher than prime vader if you talk about the cybernetic one). General Grievous/Qymaen is in every way better than vader.

Such a great backstory too. Fully fleshed out and detailed with some actual pathos for the character. EDIT: That's what we got with the EU version of characters unlike their bastardized TCW counterparts. The original CWMMP is my absolute favorite era of Star Wars.
@darthprime1990
@darthprime1990 Жыл бұрын
This is one of the reasons why I prefer the Grievous in the old EU, with such a great and compelling backstory. TCW Grievous seems like a generic moustache-twirling villain who keeps running away.
@bionic-tale4313
@bionic-tale4313 Жыл бұрын
@Chosen One Yes, but we're talking in the EU Clone Wars multimedia project in general to the portrayal of Grevious, not just the micro series. Which prior to him being needed in ROTS due to his chest plates crushing & punchering his lungs at the hands of Mace Windu was actually protrayed as more comment than in TCW. The latter taking George's idea of Grevious being a villain who runs away when his plans fail up to 11, to the point of being a near incompetent leader to the CIS.
@FMK03
@FMK03 Жыл бұрын
@Chosen One He has everything in the Clone Wars Multi-Media Project, such as intimidation, competence, and menace. Furthermore, his small appearance in Star Wars: Republic Commando helped bridge the gap between that game and the rest of the CWMMP, and his small comic series is special. Everything in the CWMMP is leagues ahead of anything TCW gave us and was eons better than TCW.

@@bionic-tale4313 But, what if there were two General Grievous, TCW being an unstable clone who died in episode III, and the 2003 cartoon being the original. And two more things of note Both their mentalities and deminers are different, oh, and TCW is coughing from the moment we first see him, 2003 does not cough until Mace Windo crushes his ribcage.

I'm curious as to where you discovered this figure because in my research, I could only ever find 22 (23 if you count the mon calamari padawan from "lair of grievous") named Jedi kills for Grievous. Killing 1 Jedi is considered impressive on its own, let alone a couple hundred.
@grandadmiralzaarin4962

@@Manda-LORE Got a PDF of it from my old archives. Page 59 of Star Wars Insider 86 states that Grievous "Left a trail of dissected Jedi, as many as 100 of whom he killed personally" in personal combat. So the indirect kills are most likely ones killed by armies or navies under his command.
