I think Sidious was scared of him. The only times I see Grievous mess up are either when he gets cocky or when he’s not in the condition to fight. That or circumstances. But that’s it. Past that he practically dominates. I think there are some people who have a chance to beat him, but not Sidious. If he played on his pride, he could win, but Grievous wouldn’t let himself do that fighting a dark sensitive. He didn’t even take chances with Ventress, pulling out all four lightsabers and only losing because she was on a nexus. But unless Sidious is pulling that off, I don’t see how he’s winning.

Grievous’s story is actually really sad.. He didn’t chose to be this! He was once a noble warrior who wanted nothing, but to save his people. He was lied to and manipulated both mentally and physically turning him into something unnatural. He lost everything, his lover, his people, his religion, and his memories. He fought in a war that wasn’t his to begin with for the rest of his life and helped the very people who did this to him without even knowing. *He wasn’t a villain, he was a victim.*

Grievous will always be my all time favorite no matter what. 2008 may have Grievous nerfed but didn't really lose that often, most people are forgetting that Grievous did gain victory over the Jedi like Ahsoka (2x), Kenobi (3x), Adi Gallia, had won many battles (more than Admiral Trench did) such as Battle of Abregado, Battle of the Ryndellia system, Battle of Falleen, Battle near the Arda system, Battle of Patitite Pattuna, Battle of Dathomir and Attack on Obi-Wan Kenobi's fleet/Battle of Florrum. Grievous showed more tactics/strategy like able to correctly anticipate the Republic's movements during the Battle of Saleucami, fool the Republic forces during the Battle of Kamino in ARC Trooper and put his massive army to good use by overwhelming his opponents on Dathomir. To be honest in 2008 show off more of his strength more than 2003 did, like lift a droideka in Malevolence, kicked two big thick door in Grievous Intrigue, shook an entire gunship when he kicked Kenobi on top of it in Bound for Rescue and lifted a Varactyl in Crystal Crisis. Even comic like Son of Dathomir and Kanan: The Last Padawan portrayed him being menacing and powerful, as well as obviously being very intelligent and excellent tactician. He had fought and survived many tough opponents like defeated Depa Billaba (2x), survived Maul on Zanbar/Dathomir and survived Quinlan Vos on Raxus while gain the upper hand.

I feel like the movies do not do justice to grievous. They dont properly show his astounding fame and history. Truthfully he was as feared of an enemy as even vader, but he is portrayed as more of a weak robot general. And it never shows windu crush his lungs or explain why he coughs. They just left him as such an empty role in the movies. Even though he didnt know the force i still group him with the sith masters

The clone wars series from 2008 onwards was a mockery of Grievous, in retrospect i dislike that part about the series more than anything else. Lucas nerfed him already for Episode III but Filoni continued with the "moustache-twirling", weekly appearing villain spiel from then on. Although my childhood memories and nostalgia compel me to like the clone wars animated series otherwise, i do feel they did him dirty. Lucas did not want Grievous to become another Vader and Filoni felt the same. I understand why they chose to run with it but i still dont approve what they did. I revere the Grievous of 2003 cartoon series, he was a true god of war and i think they brought out the best parts of his character in that version. The cheap, oversimplified, at times too cowardly version, who loses to GUNGANS of all species is not what Grievous was meant to be.

I was thinking the same! I'll actually copy a comment of mine over - He had a lot in common with Darth Maul AND Anakin, in the end - all of them were quite tragic, young, vulnerable, and manipulated - but where Anakin was groomed over many years, Sidious didn't have time for that with this alien native of another planet...so he simply ripped him from his home, his people, his culture...and his own body, forcing him to obey. It's so incredibly sad - granted, Anakin also gets torn from everyone he loves, and also ends up a cyborg, but he wasn't forcibly brainwashed like poor Grievous, so in the end? He got to choose. And that's why Palpatine should have done what he did with Grievous - made sure there were no loose ends, no loopholes. Luckily for the galaxy, he got cocky, and thought he'd won. He thought he had a well-trained dog...but even a well-trained dog bites when it's kicked enough! At least Anakin got the freedom to choose, in the end - though it makes his crimes more heinous than Grievous', in a sense, because Grievous never had a choice...Anakin did.

And the Commando Clone, Commander CC-6474 "Amber" who was a Commando Clone that he wore a Kraty-class Commando Armor that was an experimental armor superior to the Katarn class used by normal Clone Commando, these Kraty class armor cost 12,000 credits as class Katarn armor cost, Amber would have a cheerful and playful personality and I managed to take thanks from the worst moments _And we also had Admiral Alitec who was a human at the age of 25 who would be a great admiral and was very creative in his tactics, he was considered one of the best admirals in the Republic just behind Tarkin and Yularen, he would command the Venator called Coruscant, this venator would be one of the most respected in the Republic, surviving more than 25 battles, in addition to transporting experimental weapons from the Republic, such as plasma torpedoes and DBY-1027 turbolasers that took shots of ion and blaster at the same time to cause damage to the enemy ship, he belonged to a wealthy family of the Republic having more than 90 trillion credits, in which this money he used to modify his Venator or simply give a reward to a Clone or officer who was very good. _On the side of the villains we would have the Separatist Admiral Va'kor Kra, he would be one of the most feared separatist admirals, for more than 20 years he admired the galaxy with his exemplary naval techniques. _He commanded the Glory de Raxus, which was a modified Providence class Star Dreadnought capable of transporting more than 300 starfighter droids and with experimental engines capable of reaching 80 MGLT and 2,400 km / h in the atmosphere. _First Season, First Episode. _The war. _In our first episode we turned to Estala Neru and Coleman battling a horde of droids B1 and B2, on the planet Seroa, The Jedi were sent to save a Republican senator from the planet Alakar, who had been captured by the separatists, as far as that would be in space. a battle between the republican and separatist forces, Coruscant would launch two plasma torpedoes on a munificient class frigate and it would be destroyed. _ From the Hyperdrive space the glory of raxus would leap and the Battle would intensify, Admiral Va'Kor would send 12 hyenas droids to bomb the planet, 5 of the 12 hyenas droids would bomb the jedis together with the clone squad, but no one expected the astromech droid R2-D21 took the Nathon blade and blew up the 5 droid hyenas and in a place far from there the commander "Shoot" would have the anti-fighter cannons used on the approaching droid starfighters. _The Battle of Seroa would be won by the Republic and the heroes would go to coruscant (Ship) and go to the planet of Coruscant. _As this act of bravery of the shoot clone, Admiral Alitec would give him 60,000 credits as a reward. _The Venator arrived on the planet of Coruscant where a Nu-class shuttle would leave Coleman and Estala on the planet and the Venator (Coruscant) would be taken to the Nam-Vrok shipyard in the Bal'Dor star system to receive a new and more compact reactor that was able to consume less besides being able to increase the power of the engine that reactor had cost 30 million credits. Estala would be training with the 37-year old Jedi master Chadra-Fan, called Reer, that master was one of the 20 best swordsmen of the Jedi order, Reer would defeat Estela in a lightsaber fight. When Estela would walk in the jedi temple she would see the R2-D21 taking an oil bath he made several beeps of emotion when he saw estala, the droid asked where Coleman was, she said she didn't know where she was.

@@autistichades5552 sorry i had to divide it into 2 parts We discovered later that the clone intelligence service discovered that the separatists opened a factory of new commando droids on the Vixen asteroid in a place that was close to the world. Estala and Coleman knew the Clone Commando Amber in which they would take a YV-865 freighter and go to the asteroid Vixen, they figured they were technicians supervising the production, but a Rodian who works at the asteroid factory discovered the scam, the new commando droids XV-series were activated, the droids prove to be totally deadly they managed to drop the estala by grabbing it by the neck. Clone Amber gave two shots to the head of the destroyed droid. Amber said that these droids are more dangerous and that they would be a threat for the republic, Coleman said he was carrying a datapad that had a virus that could destroy the factory, one of the droid commandos shot and destroyed the Datapad, Estela and Amber would be scared, but coleman had a plan B. When the droids were destroyed, the R2-D21 transported the virus to the factory and placed the virus in the central computer, and the virus destroys the reactor taking it into self-destruction in just 1 minutes, Coleman, Estele, Amber and R2-D21 took it. the freighter and left the asteroid. When all of this was done in the glory of raxus, Va'lakor would be impressed with the efficiency of the droids and would have more than 1,000 of these droids manufactured to put in the glory of raxus. First Season, Episode Two A new threat. Estala and Coleman would report to the Jedi Council, the new command droid that the separatists were working on, describing them with 1.99 meter droids with red photoreceptors and a hull made of a new metal called Megasteel that was slightly more resistant than the BX, but could be a threat to the existence of the Republic. Mace Windu said that rumors on the planet Kivor, says that droids similar to these will come, Estala and Coleman said that the only Droid factory was destroyed in the asteroid vixen. Coleman and Estala would be sent to the planet of Kivor to defeat these new Droids, in that battle we would see Captain Rex who was in a nearby star system and wanted to help since his mission was already complete and Anakin and Obi-Wan no longer needed him. Rex and Shoot had a plan to try to distract the separatists by sending 50 clone troopers to the front of the Palace when the jedi would go to the back and make a wall hole using the lightsabers, they would enter the castle and managed to arrest the separatist leader. Upon arriving in Coruscant with a captured leader, the Coruscant (ship) was completely fixed in addition to receiving an update with a new reactor. The separatist leader at the interrogation would say that the secret factory information of these droid models was about the knowledge of the devlikk Gaido in Ord Radama, but when he said that a droid probe in the venator's ventilation pipes would release a poison dart in the separatist for him not to say more. With the force Coleman would take the Droid, I would crush it. Then at the end of the episode Coleman and Estala would go to Ord Radama. First Season, Episode three. a trip with no return. When going to the planet in transport of civilian passengers. A ship passed the old capital of new raido, Coleman would throw some droid probes and these droids had the identity of Gaido, in addition to DNA scanners from the Republic's databases. The Droid probe would warn, and beep Coleman and Estala's bracelet, correct them to try to track the Gaido, and they ended up found, Gaido would just pick up a blaster and they would take out Coleman and Estala, with a push of Coleman and Estala's strength together they would render Gaido unconscious. After a while the interrogation started, Gaido said that the factory was in the Tyferra system, on the planet of Gathor, on the pole of the planet. When Coleman and Estala left, they went back to Coruscant to tell the information to the Jedi Council and to the Supreme Chanceller Palpatine. Gaido would think he was safe, but Asajj Ventress would look like nothing and kill him. First Season, Episode four. The enemies are what you least expect. After discovering Gaido's information. Coleman, Estala, Shoot and Alitec went to the planet Gathon, that planet was being protected by 4 munificient class frigate and 2 Recuscant class light destroyer, the fleet of the Republic was equipped with 5 Venatores, 4 Consular Frigate and 2 pelata frigates that commanded by Modified Venator called Coruscant led by Admiral Alitec. In the battle two Munificients would start shooting at the pelta frigates and destroyed one of them. The Venatores would start shooting all the turbolasers, but of the Venatores that had more advantage was the Coruscant for having several modifications. When the battle was going on Coleman, Estala and Shoot to go to the breakaway factory and disable the factory shields, the three barely hope he was at the factory, General Grievous attacked the three, the rotating lightsabers attacked the shoot commander and ended destroyed a part of the helmet that made him lose an eye, while Coleman and Estala were fighting with grievous at the same time, Grievous used his cybernetic legs and gave Estala a strong kick and she reached the wall, only coleman and grievous fought, Coleman was having a balanced fight with Grievous in a movement error. Grievous ended up losing one of his arms and another was crushed with the crush of the Force, seeing that he was losing Grievous tried to attack shoot, but he was a clone as well in would point out that he damaged the servo motor of the general's right leg, in which he had a slight difficulty in walking but he took his starfighter to Souless One and left the planet, Estala managed to get up and she c With Coleman and Shoot, they deactivated the base shields, and they took the eta class shuttle and went to the Coruscant, after that all the venators bombed the planet and the factory was destroyed. Upon reaching Coruscant, Shoot received a cybernetic eye and he also received a medal for risking his life for the republic and Estala would ask Coleman what will happen to the other factories of these droids, Coleman mentioned that the last two factories were destroyed by Mace Windu and Yoda and Anakin and Obi-Wan. End of Arc of New Commando droids

I always liked the character design and I had a vague idea about how he came to be, but that was the most heartbreakingly brutal story I've heard in a while. Especially the bit where he dies just before order 66 happens. After all that, he didn't even get to see his goal completed by someone else. If he were an egoist about his ultimate goal that might have been a mercy, but all he wanted was that the Jedi were dead. If he'd lived to see it he probably would have high 20'd Sidious like Nice.

Given that Order 66 wasn't his plan one wonders what he would have thought: would he have felt a bit cheated that he got kill-stealed or be happy that one way or another it got done.

Both Grievous and Dooku are among my favorite Star Wars characters, so I'm super glad they were used so much in the Clone Wars show, as they unfortunately only appeared in the prequels. I do like to think Grievous was welcomed into the pantheon of his religion. All this time, I always thought that he was an incredible warrior, but I had no idea how tragic his backstory is. He had no place in the war, but I do think it's super cool that he became so feared. It makes it almost disappointing, in hindsight, that he died the way he did.

The one episode where they went in to the general's castle... I knew there was so much more to know, yet these questions were never remotely answered well enough. Based on this 2 part film... I'm 100% sure it would make a great 2 hour live-action film. Better then "Solo". The Grievous story has to be far better then any other story in the Star Wars univerce. My personal theory as to why Grievous became such a push-over is that Dooku had Grievous' surgeon tamper with Grievous' brain to make sure he was more compliant. Hell it could even be a remotely controlled thing as Dooku would know Grievous would be more concerned with killing Shaak Tii during the siege on Coruscaunt over thinking about how he just popped back into existence
