Thanks for this video-just want to mention a little inconsistency between this video and the Brompton owner's manual I received with my bike. The owner's manual recommends using grease for the hinge clamp bolts; this video recommends using lubricant. Grease is more in line with what I'd expect to apply to bolt threads.

Thankyou , for many tips. Have owned a Brompton for 5 years and agree, keeping it clean, oiled and tyre pressure, all keep it in tip top condition. Only tried once to pump up tyres with hand pump ( good recipe for a heart attack) when l first purchased bike. So yes l purchased a new pump. I regularly check tyres. (Pack my hand pump as an emergency gear.) My bike looks brand new, after travelling many joyful miles. Best wishes to you and all your viewers.🌈👌☺️

railway stations and my co op seems to have Bike maintenance stations so I pumped up to 6 bar without needing to purchase a pump.

Well not that many "joyful" miles, as a Brompton, on the very small wheels, is considerably harder to ride than an ordinary, large wheeled bike 😄! You definitely feel it when riding longer distances, which need much more "power" than a "real bike"! And I can't even imagine having a constantly "braking" dynamo in the front wheel also?

@@finncarlbomholtsrensen1188 People have done cross-country on Bromptons... I've read people doing 110+ km (around ~70 miles) on a single day. Some more advanced bikers made 130 - 150km (80 - 90 miles) in a single day. People will commute 55km (~35 miles) daily on it... so it seems a good range for such a small bike. Of course on larger bikes people might go further, but for 90% of bikers, especially in a urban environment, 100km is enough

@@LLF1234 As an elderly person I don't use it that much, and you are able to do on a Brompton, what you may do on other bikes, but it takes more effort to do it! I had a 6,8 kilo LOOK Top racing bike and it felt totally different, though my present, what's left of my Superlight Brompton, is close to 8,5 kilo and still falling, with mudguards, of course! Finn 😄

@@deepindercheema4917 In Denmark it is hard to find a pump even on a Tank, so I have just bought a Cyplus. And yes many ride Bromptons for long distances, but still it is a horrible "bike".

Dear Brompton, my friend and I just bought 2 of our bikes 1 from local BJ and another one from reseller (both brand new in box) . However what are the cause of having 1 of our bike harder to paddle than another when both are set at the same gear (-1) after 150km mileage? Thanks in advance

Is it also the same models? Finn. Denmark And you are able to find loose chainwheels with different number of teeth for replacement!

Did change my Brompton seat for a leather ladies wider seat, as l found the slim Brompton seat, extremely uncomfortable, despite riding it for a year. Yes Brooks seats are leather and l am a vegetarian, as l’m not in favour of using leather goods. Sadly the plastic seat was akin to a type of torture, so l allowed my son to buy me a leather seat, as a present. I thank the animal who gave me a comfy seat, every time l use bike, as

Gratitude for animal leather seat. Hopefully in the future, a comfortable bike seat will be manufactured, with plastic materials, as all animals are also sentient beings. Best wishes.

Your choice, but animals aren’t killed for their skins. They are a by-product of the meat industry. I’m not expressing an opinion either way, but that’s just the way it is. Not using leather will not save animal lives until we stop eating meat on such an Olympic scale.
