Chris birdsong on junkerup channel shows what he does to this charger. He shows the body is somewhat twisted from the drag racing. He is a genius at repairing all this.

@@viktorhardindyrvold4234 , yeah, what those guys did was criminal. The Fast and Furious charger, General Lee and General Mayhem are the most iconic Chargers of all time. Mayhem is unique because it represents the regular guy’s ability to buy, build and thrash a piece of automotive history. I’m glad it has been given the care it deserves and restored to its original trash-racer status.

Ahh, I can rest easier at night. I haven't seen much of roadkill since this all disappeared from youtube (luckily vice grip garage filled that void) but that whole swap with all the ugly modern stuff, including the rear lights was like the death of the whole purpose and meaning of the car... and in some ways the show. I'm really happy to see it get put back to how it should be, or at least in the process. Cool to see the guys get some release from it too!

You have NO idea how relieved I was to see that this car was going back to the old school tech. I was hoping this would happen, and you wouldn't get forced into making it into another project RDF, which is "roaring dumpster fire" formerly project x. That still enrages me that such an iconic beast would be reduced to being a golf cart. This car will take the place of project x in my heart for being a badass. It may not have the movie credit, but it's also not a golf cart.

This is the best "improvement" you have made to a car. Would have been fun to see before and after weight and power to weight ratio. That was a lot of stuff that came out.

@@RevolutionMuscle Ya but he mentioned forged internals on the 440. So a 440 all done up and if using forged stuff, he obviously is planning on making some good numbers. So won't be significantly anything by the time he's done lmao. Probably be making as much or more..... hopefully!

Always felt the mayhem symbolised roadkill. Started off cool and accessible. Then got fancier and never to be seen again. Seeing it back with a 440 gives me hope that roadkill will be available to non Americans soon 😃

I loved the motorhome engine episode. Mostly for asking the 311 highway person for an axe to remove the door 😂. That kind of hack-it-together style is what I loved.

Glad it's going back to near stock. Putting a Hellcat engine in it never seemed quite right to me. All of the modern wiring and garbage is just a mess to deal with. I'm used to a '70 Charger with the 383, but seeing the 440 go back in is awesome.

Back when I used to drag race I always hated to go up against anything with a 440. They had tons of torque even back in the 60's.

You can make naturally assperated 440s run good , trust me . I helped my son build a car and we were on the fence between 426 and 440 . Luckily I came to senses and went with a slightly bored and stroked 440 .

You think those top mechanics would be on his team and show if they thought he was a hack. The man knows his stuff and there is no doubt about it. There is already tons of hot rod shows and he just went a different route for something different. His car independence is a excellent example of why he isn't a hack. Family oriented as well. Your allowed your opinion tho. Him and Tony almost one at the freedom factory the other day.

I didn't mind the hellcat motor in general mayhem. But I do agree with David and Steve and I'm only 22 years old. It needs to go back to the original 440 engine and just upgrade that motor, trans and stuff. The newer stuff did take a lot of space and didn't make the car really that functional like the trunk had no room to put anything and so on so forth. My dream car is trying to get a 68-70 charger with the original 440 in it.

My mechanic buddy used to flick his cigarette butt into a barrel of freshly drained gas to watch people freak. As a liquid, gasoline is reluctant to ignite. Needs air. Get a fan sucking the vapours out of the garage. That's the boom boom part. p.s. I love the way Steve's face gets all squinched up when he's grinding, or shifting gears.

The Hellcat install looked like a proper bodge job (hack job). Pity you couldn't have found a way to return the car to mostly previous spec but keep the Hellcat motor. As you said, there are now stand olone ECUs to run it. Anyhoo, not my car. Up to you what you do with it.
