To the touchy dear toasters husband issue - I would explain that overstimulation of the touching to him first and if you have already done that find something that overstimulates him like if he doesn’t like music or the tv on at night because he stares at a screen or hears noises all day and replicate that. “I like falling asleep with the tv on” is just as innocuous as “I like skin on skin” and may open his eyes.
