Tim was using a Ruger#1 .300 Mag. My rifle, which is what I hunt basically everything with when I’m not bow hunting, is a modified Rem700 30-06.

Actually I’ve never gone with a guide or outfitter, all my hunts are DIY. The other people you see me with are good friends and family that I hunt with.

It was a quick trip and I decided to leave the horses at home. I was sure regretting it when we had to pack meat out on our backs though!

Make no mistake, there are a ton a guys that would've flung lead at 600 yds,...but like others have said you did the right thing and set a great example of being a hunter not a sniper. Now you can brag about how close ya got, not how far you shot!
