A lot of people quit doing crossovers at about the half way point. Something that works for me, is when I get to about the halfway point where the water gets shallow, my brain begins panicking a bit, I just tell myself 5 more seconds and start counting down, when I finish counting I'm close enough to the wall that failure is not an option and I will just stick it out. Kind of weird but to each his own, singing just never worked for me.

@@Yourfavinsti BTW the test uses a specific type of crunch and at the time I did it you were allow to use the kip and you could have that rest but in a up approved rest position and reset your count and cadence. Learn to do the test with the exact sequence, do a variety and different difficulty levels of those exercises. Most important is to do the exact trail test several times in training to prep for the test. No sloppy stuff either. Also should do the MARSOC short card 3 times a week. Things have changed so radically I love this ,I joined the corps In 1982 ,0311 I was going through mountain warfare school in pickle meadows CA, S.T.A. platoon was short my name got around to SGT Kelly who was basically chief scout that I was very motivated, he came by sat down and asked would I be interested in S.T.A. I said yes not the best swimmer he said no problem we will work on that my company commander made the switch ,I saw that happen quite a bit I don't think that could ever happen now new marines are so much and need to be so much smarter no disrespect to older marines but it was more O.J.T. plus Vietnam had ended 7 years earlier and there wasn't the fever young people have now to go straight into special operations hats off to these marines who push way beyond limits

0321 here... enlisted into the Corps as a 2531 Field Radio Operator then arrived from FROC to reception 2nd Mar Div at CLNC... 2nd Reconnaissance Bn sent screeners to see if any of us wanted to take the "INDOC" and try out for their unit... myself and about 15 other US Marines (me and another Boot 2531 named Hughs along with the rest Infantry guys) signed up and immediately were driven to Onslow Beach... myself, Hughs, and 5 others passed the INDOC, then we were in RIP (Reconnaissance Indoctrination Platoon) for 6 weeks... after RIP, I got orders to attend US Army Airborne School at Ft Benning GA immediately... after grad, I attended and passed then ARS (Amphibious Recon School) at Ft Story NAB Little Creek VA in May 1986... upon grad from ARS, we earned our 0321 Reconnaissance Marine MOS... BRC replaced this regimen in the early 2000s I think... Semper Fidelis!

Physically and mentally I’m ready for anything that comes I can easily do things but my body can’t keep up with my mind y push myself to the limit everytime we do PT and I’m one of the people that don’t leave anyone behind nor gives up on any challenge

@@angeljoel3021 ... your recruiter is crazy! Best MOS to do before Recon would be Field Radio Operator 0621 and then upon getting to the FMF (hopefully 1st, 2nd, 3rd Marine Division) and checking in at the Reception Center, request to take the screening/assessment for 0321 Reconnaissance Marine... if possible, even do this when reporting to MCT after Bootcamp and get advice from there... it's all changed much since early 1986 when I arrived at 2nd Marine Div Reception Center fresh outa FROC... as for training, add 50lb rucksack runs to your cardio routine and of course, pullups and more pullups... for abs, do a GAZILLION flutterkicks and then more... You best improve on all those numbers im guessing. I was a navy rescue swimmer not a Marine but my guess is it is no different than any other special services. Be very comfy in the water! I cant stress this enough. Find a recon Marine and only trust what he tells you not me or anyone else. Ask your recruiter to find someone. Last but not least dont quit. Thats easier said than done. You best be prepared. You can imagine how competitive this is. Its also easy to say it on social media than it is to prove it. 18 yr olds can become recon but you a dozen near impossible training spots you gotta overcome. If you cant breeze through this and expert shooter with weapons used you are wasting your time. All Marines are way above avg muchless be near the top of this group day 1. Good luck you will need it.

Thank you very much for this video. I'm still deciding which branch of the military that I want to join. However my career goals and what I want to do in the military still remain the same. I want to attend (and hopefully pass) a combat diving school, an airborne (or combat sky diving school), conduct raids (in training), and finally blow stuff up (in training). After all my combat training and experiences, I then would like to pursue a career either in information technology or as some type of aviation mechanic or wheeled vehicle mechanic. My first preference though is Information Technology. The 3 branches I'm still strongly considering right now are Army, Marines, and Navy. I would throw the Air Force in there too but I haven't done enough research on their Special Operations Groups and careers to really consider them at this time.

Rangers can go to dive school i believe. But to pass rasp they just jump in pool with full combat load and swim to the other side water wise. I am also able to tread water for over an hour, (without cammies), and swim 25m under water pretty easily actually. And am also able to swim 500m in 10:30 mins. Again, without cammies though. Just for some insight, how do these statistics compare with what I need to be doing? What do I need to work more?

Your scores are very good, and it seems like based off what you said, you have a solid foundation in the water. I'd advise you to test out your 3 mile run, and find a place that lets you swim or tread in cammies. Cammies are a game changer for a lot of people. Congratulations on your enlistment! Frank Balocca you can wait for a couple years and try out for marsoc raiders. Probably just as physical hard in training but alittle more training with learning other skill set. If you’re trying to do “special forces/operations” the stuff you see in the movies then marsoc is where you want to be, plus you’ll be working with other branches special operation groups and get deployed alot more. You might even get attached to a navy seal team or green beret team

For MARSOC you have to be a Corporal which often occurs around 3 1/2 years in the grunts. You have more immediate options of screening for Recon or Scout Sniper if you shoot experthave a first class PFT and Intermediate Swim qual and a good service record with no NJPs.Recon and Scout Snipers often pick up Infantry Marines after one deployment if they don'tget you out of ITB.

Focus on running and pullups, strengthen up your legs with squats and deadlifts for the hikes. Get used to being treated as a 5 year old, and ya that's it. And if ur gonna be 03 u better be running all the time, cause bootcamp, and itb is hardly any running but ur unit will be.
