Thank you so much for sharing. My late husband Jeff (Tarzan) certainly left a legacy behind. What a legend. He’s sorely missed but we remember him and laugh all the time ❤

I'm so sorry for your loss Ellie. Let me say, this episode of the Generation Game is the one that I most keenly remember all these years later because of your husband. He was an absolute star in this. As others have said, Saturday night entertainment back then was worth staying in for with entertainers like Bruce and Noel Edmonds, but the popularity of the shows was due in no small part to people like your husband.

One of my favourite things about the GG was when things went "wrong" - eg in this case the contestant doors opening by accident LOL and Bruce's over-reaction. And with every panto final sketch there would always be a line that the contestant would read incorrectly haha so simple but just harmless fun, I miss it!

The mistake the BBC made was to persevere with the show once Forsyth quit for a second time in 1994

Yes I thought davidson ruined it. I remember he stood in for Bruce for one show which worked well, but once he took over the show it was a stinker. And the more recent attempt to revive with Mel and Sue was a disaster.

Well, Rosemarie Ford was a presenter of _Come Dancing,_ so of course it's going to get talked about. And no-one would mention the word "strictly" as _Strictly Ballroom_ wouldn't be released in the UK until October 1992.
