Generation Loss MKII by Chase Bliss - Writing a Guitar Solo

These are my first moments with Generation Loss MKII by Chase Bliss. Originally filmed Dec 22, I've now owned and used this device for over 8 months now and I can happily say it has not disappointed.
Putting this bad boy at the end of a large chain does wonders to shape and sculpt frequencies to your liking. The parameters are very nuanced and controllable. It can bring very noticeable saturation, bit-crush, & modulation or it can subtly color your tone with any of those things.
One of my favorite uses has been the AUX switch in Stop or Filter mode. I document how engaging/disengaging that switch mid playing is how I recorded the guitar solo for my new single, Gatekeeper.

Tonight I paired my Gen Loss Mk2 with a Soma Cosmos. Pretty cool warbly asynchronous delays.

This is the first I’ve heard of that device. I’ll have to check it out! What do you like using Soma Cosmos for?

I only recently discovered it as well. It's a bizarre looper, which uses multiple delay lines to create different kinds of evolving loops. No MIDI, no sync. I currently use it to create background textures, and paired with the Gen Loss, it's pretty wild.

@@bnz70 just briefly checked out the Soma Cosmos. It looks pretty cool! A bit big for a pedalboard, but that type of device can easily go besides one (I do that occasionally with my RC-30). What are your favorite uses of the Soma Cosmos?

Nice video, does your gen loss also has a little lag to turn on/off ?

A lag as in it doesn’t turn off immediately or do you mean something else? I haven’t noticed that, but I can check when I get home in a couple days!

@@stephenbeyer a lag when turning on/off immediately, it seems not only it goes on as you release the switch (not when you press it) but it also has an extra little lag after that. different to previous (analog heart) Chase bliss pedals that went on immediately after pressing the switch. I don't like that on mine.

@@stephenbeyer I actually reached out to them when I got it, but they say that its normal behaviour, still doesn't feel like it to me, unfortunately no one else around me owns a gen loss to compare.
