Steve has lost some serious weight - he had no choice, his doctors told him when he nearly died from a heart condition. 'Burny Guitars' provide him mostly nowadays and they give them to him for free. Steve HATES Gibson, even though here/on these gigs he still uses a copy of his legendary cheesecake Custom, and it is due to the way the previous management dealt with him, I mean for fucks sake you give someone of his stature what TF he wants - just look at 'who' Gibson endorses today, it is comical.

My heart beams - look at Jonesy, he is just having a ball. Given he nearly died a few years back to have icons, true not wannabe 'icons' still with us and performing is an incalculable gift. I saw the 'Filthy Lucre' Tour, and I was off my face but will never ever forget Steve with his magnificent Gibson blue sparkler Custom in leopard pants with "SLAG" on his guitar strap. BTW Steve gifted that beautiful sparkling blue guitar to one of his very closest mates. It will NEVER be sold. Wish he'd asked for it back for these gigs.

Yeah, it is unbelievable! Back in the day I made dozens and dozens of cassette tapes with KIss Me Deadly on them trying to get people to hear them. If you don't know them already try Teenage Head and their debut LP. Nothing like the Generation X debut, but it has that punk 'n' roll sincerity and originality of the first Generation X LP. People really don't get how great that first Generation X LP truly is. Pretty much perfect.
@willieluncheonette5843 Жыл бұрын
@@robertmcmanus9185 Yes perfection. If you google THE TOP 15 PUNK ALBUMS you can read my writeup of it. I always recommend the British version, the way the band intended it. The American version is not as strong, swapping out 3 songs for three others. Listen, on the Brit version is as good as anything they did, missing on the US version. Yes, I know Teenage Head's debut and it's excellent. My 3 fav Canadian punk albums are DOA Something Better Change, The Subhumans' Incorrect Thoughts and Youth Youth Youth's Sin 12" EP.

Finally Gibson have produced a new run of Custom LP's for Steve after treating him like shit for a decade +. I once watched a sit down with Liam Gallagher and he said he would swap his entire OASIS back catalogue for one record - that record was "Never Mind The Bollocks". Now there is context. Steve Jones is such a cool sleazy bloke and as a guitarist he has created some of 'the' most iconic music in history. And his guitar strap collection is hilarious. He nearly died a few years back - thank God one of his best mates noticed something was not right and Steve went into have tests done and found he was extremely sick - but now he's back to just nailing it.
