We pay $1800 per month on childcare and $1300 per month on student loans. I don't see this as reasonable, but apparently the government does!

@@glenndickson7627 When you break it down to monthly payments, it would be much better to have higher interest rates and lower house prices.

Once upon a time, we used our own public bank, the Bank of Canada to create money for major public projects, such as the second world war, the St. Lawrence Seaway and our public health care program. All this stopped in 1974 when the Bank of International Settlements gave the order. Please check out the Committee on Monetary and Economic Reform and the lawsuit launched in December 2011 for more details. Most of our current debt is to private banks and most of that is because of compound interest.
