@@GenerationFilms a pretty much agree with but i just wanted to say that some of the best legions of the Imperium Guard like The Cadians, Catachan Jungle Fighters, Death Korps of Krieg and etc can easily compete and win against the best legions of the Clones like 501st and more but i agree that their big diversity can be a problem and because of that the average guardsman would lose to the average clone as well as a average Imperium legion vs The average clone one as long as the numbers are either comparable or just not a lot in favor of the Imperium but that's the problem, there would be few times that happens, but i LOVED this video and overall agree with it, although the colonial marines should have been last in my opnion

Simple its a popularity contest. Clone Troopers where litterally like 10 years old at the beginning of the the Clone Wars and like 15 at the end seriously most factions on the list have more experience than Clones and Stormtroopers combined. # Clones would die on Cadia, Catachan and Krieg in about 5 minutes i mean seconds to be honest

And fighting ill equipped rebels who can't even afford body armor as the Stormtroopers fought some of which did fight in the Clone Wars but most didn't. And fighting an organized military force are two different things. 90% of Guard regiments maybe horrorable tacticans but there are regiments that are actually good at their job. The poster boys for the Imperial Guard are the Cadian Shock Troopers. Their freaking planet broke and they still kept fighting. Half the things the Imperial Guard fight would make a Clone Trooper shit himself. And Clones don't get scared easily . Granted their like teenagers by the end of the Clone Wars in the body of an adult.

TBH the death korps is only got at throwing themselves into the line of fire but not really an effective fighting force. Tallarn desert raiders on the other hand are the real beasts, both in disrupting enemy forces in small scale operations and full on armored continent spanning warfare. They held up against the iron warriors legion(not later warbands)!

One note about the SecOps. They did lose overall. Though not to the Na'vi. The Na'vi were soundly defeated & routed. It was "Eywa" who defeated SecOps by calling in all the wildlife at the end. Had this not happened SecOps would have been successful. On another note. As experienced as colonel Quaritch was. He made a major mistake deploying his ground forces in the final battle. It was a bombing campaign & ground forces were not needed. Had the ground forces not been there. The Na'vi ground forces would have been just standing there looking up watching the air battle. Those ground forces could have possibly held off enemy attacks at Hells Gate. Keeping a beachhead for future reinforcements. P.S. The SecOps was also a corporate army. This can be an advantage or disadvantage. SecOps was much more powerful then portrayed in the film. It being said that SecOps military strenght out matched that of many nations on earth. The corporate office of SecOps deemed the equipment SecOps had on Pandora was sufficient for the situation. This does not mean SecOps didn't have better equipment to be used.

Aw man, I really just want to give you guys a standing ovation for this one. I can tell both of you really put in the time to really research each faction and break them down into observable flaws and strengths that go beyond just "they were in that one game" or "we know this is what the fans want to hear". You guys went through the books, the game series, the animated Starship Troopers series (seriously, only, like, 5 people have ever seen that thing), and probably even spent hours trolling through various wikias for all the right information. Me and my friends on various Sci-fi forums have always done these small "Who Would Win?" contests between the UNSC and the USCM, and the Starcraft Marines versus the Halo Spartans, and to actually see a video of it combining six of our most favorite and talked about factions makes me happy to know that there are other people out there, besides on esoteric sci-fi boards, who like to talk about and discuss this stuff as well. So once again, good job to everyone involved, and a standing ovation from me to you. Followed you guys from the start of this video series to the end, and was highly satisfied all the way through. @@Deadmachine666 To be fair, Imperial Guard have an average accuracy of a well trained soldier with a laser carbine (as opposed to the superhuman accuracy of someone like an Astartes), and I imagine that, broadly speaking, the Clones would be more or less comparable, once averaged out and with the Star Wars penchant for extreme inaccuracy as a cinematic technique accounted for. Both factions would have the accuracy of professional human soldiers with directed energy weapons, so entirely capable, but far from superhuman.

Hmmm... well, the Avenging Son is still looking for warriors to mount his next campaign against the forces that besiege the Imperium, perhaps the Clones should apply, to find glory in defence of manki... Wait, what's that? They all said 'Hell no, we aren't fighting anything in that universe'? Did they at least give a reason? Oh, so they said 'Have you seen the things you have to fight over there - we don't want to die like that'? Well, that is fair. I wouldn't want to fight those things either. I mean, I wouldn't want to fight any of the adversaries in any of these universes, but the 40K universe would be right at the very bottom of the list. I I had to choose between fighting the 40K factions and anything else from any of these universes, I would fight anywhere but in the 40K continuity, and consider myself to have been fortunate to have been afforded the choice.

Some guard regiments would crush the clone troopers, and some would be crushed by them. Ultimately though I think that the Imperium would beat the Republic or the Empire in a war, and that no Star Wars faction could compete with the majority of 40k's factions. The Guard has also existed in it's current form for at least five thousand years versus the clone army having existed for 3 years as an active fighting force.

True. I‘d wager any of the “major“ regiments (named ones you can use on tabletop, as opposed to regular old PDF‘s and the like) could goe toe-to-toe with their SW equivalents. Cadians and Catachan could probably curbstomp an equivalent clone force. And then there‘s the Death Korps of Krieg... It should also be taken into account “soldier vs warrior“: warriors win 1v1, soldiers win 100v100. In lower numbers, Clones would be very well equipped to destroy some Guardsmen. But increase the numbers, and the Gurd will start to win out via overwhelming force.

I love both settings and the stories both have. 40k all the way. But also, as its been said before, 40k is overpowered because of how overpowered it is. It cannot be compared to other settings like star wars or Aliens and be "normal". @@mnk199245 The PDF is the equivalent of the National Guard, The Astartes are the equivalent of Marines/Paratroopers/Special Forces/SEALS. The Guard is the equivalent of the Army ,because they're primary a land force. They use artillery and large formations,with armoured vehicles and conduct trench warfare,on land. The Space Marines can fight everywhere,they board enemy ships,drop into battle from orbit in pods,fly into battle in Thunderhawk gunships,they even conduct operations under water.

@ivan ivanovitch ivanovsky Meh, Imperial Guardsmen are a different sort of badass. UNSC/USCM/RDA are cool in the tacticool, gung-ho, Oorah type of way. They ain't afraid of nobody, and they scream things in the heat of battle like "Hell yeah!" and "I love it, SIR!" They're badass in the sense that they're born warriors. No one conscripted them, no one forced them, most of them were even given the option to leave, but despite all that, these were volunteer men and women who go out there and do it, because they love their job, and they love fightin' nasties. The Imperial Guard are more of a gritty, cowboy-like "how did it get to this?", while-smoking-a-cigar kind of cool. A different type of gung-ho; one that prides itself on the company rather than the individual. While watching Aliens or playing Halo, you might say "Dude, remember that guy in the cutscene who tried to punch an Elite with his bear hands? Badass.", but Imperial Guard makes you proud of the GUARDS as an idea, as a whole. You don't remember just one man, you remember ALL of them. You don't pick out individual heroes, because EVERYONE in the Imperial Guard is already a hero just for being there. You don't say "remember that one dude", or "remember that time that guy did X?" You say "remember when the Imperial Guard liberated a whole planet before the sun could even rise?" You say "remember that time the Imperial Guard went up against the worse the universe had to offer, and spat in its face for fun?" So yeah, two different types of badass, but still badass on both sides.

They very much are standard soldiers. They do not fall under the socom umbrella. Only units falling under marsoc will count as special forces.

They may be the standard "soldier" of the Republic, but they count as Marines, due to being trained to fight on land and to serve on ships both of which are required to be Marines. It's the Imperial Guard that shouldn't be on this list, it's just that the Imperium only has army, navy, and supersoldiers, and they discounted the supersoldiers, so they went with army

But all they really need to be is a force that uses ships to travel to a destination where they will the fight in a variety of environments, on ships, land, in the air, etc. So the Clones count as marines, due to not being limited to ground based warfare

Xperte Gamer2406 actually the Republic has their PSFs as the Regular army (being integrated with the GAR) and the clones were always on the offensive while the PSFs were just used to defend planets and support the Clones if they had the capability and capacity to do so (by the end of the war they did).

'the blaster rifle doesn't blow arms off like the lasguns' depends are we talking story blaster rifles or fluff blaster rifles? the fluff blaster rifles fire super heated plasma which when hitting a solid surface release their energy, vaporizing the solid surface and surrounding air so violently that is tears off unprotected limbs. story blaster rifles not so much. 'the imperial guard have more advanced tactics' depends, are we talking fluff imperial guard or board game imperial guard? board game imperial guard are reworked from medieval board game rules limiting all engagements to medieval scales and thus tactics, fluff guardsmen have thousands of years and a ton of cultures all geared towards war to draw on. it would seem that the mobile infantry aren't the only ones with a rather large dichotomy between 2 key sources.

To bounce off of the Mobile Infantry portion of the video, I came to the conclusion that nobody is born for war. When reading the book, Juan Rico comments that he nearly quit basic training, however, after he came over his hump, Col. Dubois writes to him that quitting is a temptation that nearly every soldier deals with.
