also, i found using VFX Level Scaler's 'Humanize' knob (especially on Pan & Velocity) is a great way of injecting some extra stereo width and dynamics into the generated midi notes😊

will have to experiment with this.... thanks for letting me know :D

@@rosew1ther If i want to make generative creepy music, I use VFX level scaler's humanize knob on the pitch. Another thing you can do is use VFX level scaler with Fruity Envelope controller's velocity setting and use that to automate plugins.

Coming here from Virtual Riot's generative synth ableton racks - cool to see we can do something similar in FL!

very cool😀 I'm working on my own using the same trick w/ peak controller -> midi out -> key mapper, but I'm trying to use multiple controllers to trigger different subdivisions, based on a probability knob to get some rhythmic variation - half speed, triplet flourishes etc. Getting mixed results tho😅

that sounds incredible, hope this goes well!

Oh i didnt know about changing the note values in MIDI Out. What I do is i have FL studio play one note (usually C), then use VFX Keyboard Splitter, turn randomize on 4 channels and then shift the pitch up +/-12 to +/-24 semitones, then using VFX key mapper with the random function turned on, mapping everything on C to the key im playing. I might try your method of using an LFO to automate the note, as i think thats a pretty cool way of going about it while leaving Keyboard Splitter pretty clean, only really using it for probability.

Hello! Thank you for sharing this. This has kickstarted a lot of ideas for me... I will make new Allied Mastercomputer music for sure using this. Thank you! Are you planning on making more videos for this? I have so many questions.
@rosew1ther6 ай бұрын
i dont know if ill make any more videos for this necessarily other than maybe some patches if i ever get around to it? i feel like i would have to find some more neat tricks and do tons of experiments to warrant another tutorial or something on it glad this can be of use to you!

damn this has my mind racing, im wondering if theres a way to send midi in to trigger the randomness like every time to put a note it plays a random pad on the fpc where the rhythm is easier to control, that would be so dope for interesting percussive stuff
@rosew1ther6 ай бұрын
i have to imagine that would be doable albeit potentially a whole thing to setup lol. i would need to do more experiments to see what my findings on this are, very interesting idea for sure..... :D

hey is it possible to play a patcher preset we made with a piano roll instead of the notes being random?
