The people who did this REALLY put a lot of attention into the insult Bloody Mary used on Bigby. "Didn't your mother ever teach you manners? Or was she busy f*cking any breeze that blew into town?" As someone who read the Fables comic, Bigby's mom was a beautiful wolf who caught the eye of the North wind, who turned into a wolf and did the deed together for a season. But as with the wind, it cannot stay in one place long, so the North Wind left, leaving the wolf to waste away; but not before giving birth to 7 cubs, all powerful forces of nature, Bigby being the runt of the litter. Thats why he was so triggered by that statement so much. He loved his mother and hated his father for abandoning her.

@@crownkilla5846 In Fables, the North wind who is Bigby's father is a powerful entity and hold power on par with a god. He can freely change his form to suit his needs. In the comic, it was shown he fell for a beautiful white she-wolf and transformed into a very handsome dark wolf who instantly won her heart. However, like many greek myths where gods mingle with mortals, they are forced to move on and cannot settle down due to their divinity. Bigby's mom was utterly heartbroken and wasted away, because many wolves mate for life; but not before giving birth to 7 pups, with Bigby being the 7th and the runt of the litter. The north wind takes the form of a older man with white hair(probably to make himself fit the image of a grandpa) as he takes great interest in Bigby's future children(spoilers). I must say, I absolutely loved the Fables comics as it ties everything together so beautifully. Do give it a read.

The Overlord That and he's meant to also be the same wolf in The Three Little Pigs too since Colin holds it against him for destroying his house with his powerful breath with both of these stories being written by different people (Brother's Grimm and Joseph Jacobs respectively). I'm curious as to if this is actually meant to be the same wolf in the original stories or if the wolf is simply there for symbolism and it's a different wolf every time, the wolf as an antagonist has been in other cautionary tales too such as The Boy who Cried Wolf or The Dog and the Wolf. I think Disney also popularised the idea that the Big Bad Wolf has appeared in multiple fairy tales as the same wolf since there was once a Disney animation where the Three Little Pigs and Red Riding Hood meet each other and learn that they've both encountered The Big Bad Wolf. I'm not a follower of the Fables comics so maybe someone could inform me but I wonder if Bigby will also be seen as the same wolf for other fairy tales like the Boy who cried Wolf or the Wolf and the Crane. If so then that would make it more interesting as to why Bigby is so powerful compared to other Fabes because of his reputation spanning multiple fairy tales instead of just one or two. If they do expand on the stories he's involved in I think it'd be interesting for them to use the story of the Wolf and the Lamb considering it's a story about a Wolf who in order to justify killing and eating a small lamb starts to accuse it of heinous acts to which the Lamb replies logically and manages to disprove all of the wolf's allegations and show that it was impossible for the lamb to commit them. The Wolf starts to lose patience with it comes to the conclusion that someone in the lambs family must have been the culprit and goes on to eat the lamb not wishing to delay it's meal any longer and the story represents how a tyrant will always find a reason to take advantage of the innocent and ignore them. I think it'd be an interesting little story to bring up if they made Bigby the same wolf from that story too since Bigby is now supposed to be a cop trying to make up for what he did in the past and this story of injustice would be an interesting dynamic to his character, like perhaps him meeting the Lambs mother years later who still thinks of him as a cold blooded killer despite his efforts to reform.

North Wind is a primordial being, basically a god. Bigby is a demigod. It’s why when in his wolf form he can make himself temporarily as big as he wants, he can regenerate as fast as he needs to, his breath is super powerful, and was able to hold his breath for over 2 weeks underwater. His strength and speed are also at godlike levels.

Then immediately his eyes are slits, and he's completely mentally prepared to face her, and shows no indication of backing down Mary's face seems to show recognition of this, and excitation of a proper duel. They're not even close to cat noises. They're wolf growls; a wolf is a canine, so they had him growl like a dog would. Which makes sense, because during a fight wolves are actually more likely to do that than howl. It's not clique if it's ACCURATE; which, in this case, it is. It's called doing your research.

The death of Bloody Mary is foreshadowing for the Fables comic book. Bloody Mary is a "ghost" made of glass or somehow connected to mirrors and dies crushed by the jaws of the Big Bad Wolf into millions of pieces. Some thirty years later, the Big Bad Wolf is transformed by Brandish (Snow White's first fiancé) into a glass statue and then shattered into millions of pieces. WHAT A CRUEL IRONY OF FATE!
