This was one of the most intense sets I’ve ever seen. Mango survived like a million axe back throws Axe is amazing and he can definitely take it at any time, but this time Mangos Plot Armor was too strong

HugS had a breakout this tournament but he's definitely not consistent enough to be thrown into "god" status. Same with Wizzy, who's super consistent but not really powerful enough overall. Plup and Leffen are fairly consistent and really good, Axe is similar to Wizzy where he just needs to up his overall game a little, enough to take out the gods more.

No, hugs had a favorable bracket for his style of play. Axe simply became victim of his own anxiety - which was just a guess at 1st but then he admitted to it on twitter. he's not calm in the clutch right now. Coming down on Fox? lol.

Panda I think Mang0 beat axes pikachu with his mario though. Mang0 said mario destroys pikachu, at least pn fd. Pikachu cant combo mario well but mario combo pikachu. Also apparently its hard for pikachu to edgeguard mario. Yeah, so axe doesnt go pikachu on fd vs mang0s mario because he doesnt want to give him the satisfaction of winning.

Very interesting set. I was rooting for axe. But mango is cool. I play smash 4, and low tiers obviously are the hypest. Why does it seem that melee players always root for top tiers over other characters? I could be wrong but I feel like it happens in the melee community.

Am I the only person who's not a Mango fan? It's nothing against him, but everything against his character choice. His character choice did nothing but climb the tier list as time went on. Mario; Jigglypuff; Falco; Fox.

He definitely didn’t start out as a Mario main(Mario was just a sandbag character he’d mess with); he was a jiggs player first and was the first player to really win with the character, so Jiggs went up on the tier list to as high as 3rd, I believe, because of his contributions. As for falco, mang0 started playing him really early in his career against other falcos, because he hated the falco puff matchup. He’s been pretty ride-or-die with the bird for over a decade (except his brief fox ditto master phase). Fox was considered the best character by the time mang0 started maining him, but no one really won anything significant with any kind of consistency until mang0 started between 2012-2014. You can’t really hate him for his character choices, because he innovates and proves himself with each of them - not playing them just because they’re good, but because he enjoys them.
