I got my first bike in years recently and it is a Genesis Delta 10 with the 'Kenda' tyres - the guy at the bike shop sold me this model saying that this is a road bike and would be suitable to ride along the canal towpath - the bike itself is great - just beeb let down by the crap tyres - they are too smooth and the bike needs much chunkier tread on the tyres for where you get cobble stone and an rough surfaces on the towpath - I have had punctures on the front and rear inner tubes because the tyres are just not up to the job. I will buy a couple of inner tubes and tyres with a much thicker tread, thanks for the video and at least I know I'm not the only one who has had this issue,

Hi Glenn. I've just purchased a 2017 CDF 10, and am wanting to lift the handlebars and have a more upright ride. Could you tell me what stem riser and adjustable stem you used? I'm a tad concerned how well a stem riser holds actually, but you seem to be doing alright! Thanks a lot!

Hi, I got an inexpensive one from Amazon, Lerway I think and then a suitable adjustable stem, all works very well. The adjustable part is branded ZHIQIU but I think they seem to be the same with a different sticker on. I got the 0-80 degree 90mm one. Don't tighten the bolt that goes through the stem riser too much, it will damage the bearing in the steering, only need to be a little more than finger tight.

Good shout with those pedals. I've put nukeproof ones on mine which have proven to be bombproof on the mtb. Question for you, have you had any issues with the chain jamming between the chain ring and the frame?
@GlennJobson3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for commenting, the pedals have been great, love flat pedals these days. I have not had any problems with the chain jamming between the chain ring and frame, the bike has two rings at the front, chain has never come off.
@r.davies27023 жыл бұрын
@@GlennJobson No problem. Mine's not come off as such, the bottom chain line has snagged between the ring and the chainstay. Guess I've just been unlucky then 👍
@GlennJobson3 жыл бұрын
@@r.davies2702 Yes, the chainstay is a little rattly with the chain on mine, outer ring in worse.

No plans for mudguards?
@GlennJobson4 жыл бұрын
No, I wanted a bike specifically without mudguards. My typical fenland track rides have been slowed by clogged guards.

Think you may have enjoyed the tyres more if you had converted them to tubeless.
@GlennJobson4 жыл бұрын
Maybe, but probably not, tubeless is all very well but on long rides they are unfixable really, lots of faffing about.
