NOTE: reviewing a product isn't defined by the number of criticisms hurled at it. I know people LOVE negative reviews and I've got about 700 videos on KZbin so there are plenty to pick from. But I have no interest in fabricating negative comments about cars I enjoy. Sorry, that's just me.

this car is killing the CT6 and Continental. the Genesis really looks like a good bargain
@yoshiakik.53328 жыл бұрын
The Continental has the most extravagant looking interior IMO. The CT6 blows the other two away in looks, by far. Cadillacs are the most classy looking vehicles on the road right now, all of them are some of the most striking vehicles on the road today. As to the total package, besides looks etc, the Genesis isn't a bad contender. For touring luxury vehicles, you can't go wrong with all three, and right now besides super expensive car, the CT6, Continental, XTS, and the Genesis are the cars you want to be in for total relaxation and cruising. Bar none, I been in many luxury cars and those are the top for smoothness, well besides the S class but that's a level above IMO.

Outstanding and HONEST review! Truly impressed! Most car reviewers these days are either dishonest and disingenuous, or clueless people who simply spew a whole lot of garbage, either parroting what others say or saying things that's been fed to them. Your review was truly refreshing. Here are some of your quotes I liked best, and also the ONE AND ONLY reason I'm SERIOUSLY considering this vehicle (and I'm someone who's been a loyal Lexus buyer, having purchased the LS models of the past): "You will not find a more sumptuous and undisturbed ride quality at ANY price" "...It's exactly how I want a big luxury car to drive. Lots of power, BUTTERY smooth in everything it does..." "QUIET and never ruffled the G90 expertly plays the role of a big RWD luxury sedan" and finally the quote that really NAILED IT for me: *"The G90 is one of the best TRUE luxury sedans on the market, coddling its occupants like they've never left their living room. ALSO I LOVE THE FACT THAT IT'S NOT TRYING TO PLAY THE ROLE OF SPORTS SEDAN LIKE SO MANY OTHERS IN THIS SEGMENT"* Are you listening Lexus? Or are you still tone deaf to your loyal customers' wants and needs? Most so called high end "luxury" vehicles have gone off the rails trying to be something they should not. I'm thrilled that this is one of just a couple vehicles, whose ONE AND ONLY mission is providing the *SOFTEST, MOST COMFORTABLE RIDE* combined with the *QUIETEST AND SMOOTHEST, MOST ISOLATED ENGINE* - the V8 version - which is what any SENSIBLE buyer of a ultra-LUXURY vehicle would want!

I've been a lifelong BMW/Benz/Audi type of an enthusiast & fan but in the last year or so I've taken a hard non-biased look at the Genesis models and I gotta say I'm more than impressed and would definitely cross shop this in the future with any of the pre-owned German big sedans if I'd be in the market for such a car. I feel that many car people just can't give credit where credit is due, it appears that it's all about the badge, history of the brand and mostly popular opinion. Just like when the GT-R came out, most exotic car owners were laughing at the idea but in the comparison tests and track results that followed, GT-R had the last laugh, at the fraction of the price.

Crossovers are no more practical than a sedan for 99% people. If you want a real body on frame SUV with towing, then you got a point. if not, then crossovers aka height increased cars to make 'independent' soccer moms feel 'strong & empowered™' is a bad trend that needs to go. station wagons are a far more logical design for all round use but unfortunately americans have developed an unexplained allergy to them.

i'm still curious how does the ride quality (the pillowy ride) of this car compared to the benchmark cars in this class such as Lexus LS 460 and S-class? a bit softer than LS 460 but still stiffer than S- class?
@3811eric8 жыл бұрын
I just test drove one yesterday and the ride quality was awesome. G90's adaptive damper control is amazing. I own a Mercedes but I am going to trade in for this brand new G90 3.3 Twin turbo! I am convinced that how much I can save my money and get the very close quality and performance of BMW and Mercs.. Job well done, Genesis!!
@yoshiakik.53328 жыл бұрын
Right now, for pillowy ride, S class is the gold standard. Besides that, the Genesis, XTS, CT6 (although CT6 to a lesser extend since Caddy is trying to make it more driver fun at the expensive of ride quality), and that's about it. I been in all of them for extended trips and many more brands, those are the best.

Hyundai has been trying at luxury sedans for years. But this should've been done years ago. The G90/80 look good and give the other guys a good run for its money. This is what it must've been like for Acura/Infiniti/Lexus back in the 80s and 90s.
@76carmel8 жыл бұрын
I think Hyundai has studied what Honda, Nissan, and Toyota did with their luxury divisions. I think Hyundai is molding Genesis the way Toyota has with Lexus over 25 years ago. Hyundai has definitely done their homework. Now, the testing starts...
@TheRoyalking7618 жыл бұрын
Acura, Infiniti, Lexus etc will still out sale this.
@herczeus93418 жыл бұрын
Acura and Infiniti will not outsell Genesis once Genesis fleshes out their lineup of course. In due time Genesis will be the 2nd best selling Asian luxury brand. P.S. Even the old Hyundai Genesis was outselling the Lexus GS by a far margin. Now that Genesis is a full brand. In due time Lexus will also feel the pinch in the years to come.
@onesopretty8 жыл бұрын
Acura will not... Who even buys the TL, or RL? Honestly Infiniti doesn't have a true flagship sedan in this segment. If Genisis produces a nice sports coupe and suv, it's over for Acura, Volvo, Caddilac & it'll put a squeeze on the rest! The Equus was a great car that needed a dedicated dealer experience to drive big sells...

While personal opinions always differ. i can not see this car being better than the Cadillac Ct6. Of course all things come down to preference. But for me this is a car that is luxurious but from a company that is not a Luxury car maker. While Cadillac has always been luxury from the word go. People say it is too much of a drivers car. And that simply to me shows they have not driven cars that are true sports sedans. The CT6 maybe sporty for a car of its footprint but it is in no way a track weapon nor a dedicated canyon carver. Cadillac simply showed you can have a luxurious ride without the suspension being so soft that it feels willowy. Which is understandable as they are trying to do rid of the old Cadillac perceptions. As far as the interior goes for both cars. I like the center section better on the CT6. A bit too many buttons and things going on for my taste. However. The Genesis G90 is a superb vehicle of choice. And I have told many people I know to give it a look. A lot of people think this is poor mans luxury when compared to BMW, LEXUS, ACURA, AUDI, ETC. But as stated by Mr. Hammes. its not some knock off interpretation. It is a genuine luxury car worth the asking price. Hats off to Hyuundai

HHHHMMMM !!! No wood steering wheel , no C/D Player, no rear entertainment system , Slight decrease in power in the V/8 from previous model and no panaramic roof. paying more and getting less , not a brilliant recipe to launch a Flagship. At least make some of them options if not standard 👎 👎
