Mr.Nice Real Is "resale" value a factor? Does the Volvo MSRP compare in weightiness to the MSRP of the Genesis? Is the Volvo even trying to be similar to an LS or a G90? Volvo is nice, Im just wondering if Apples and Oranges arent being compared here?
@mr.nicereal62337 жыл бұрын
Hey I get your point, never said that volvo is trying to compete with LS or G90. I just said that MY DAD is trying to decide between the three. He doesn't care about resale values actually- just take a ride on a G90 sometime, it will really surprise you in a good way. My dad was blown on the ride quality, and yes he decided to go with the G90 yesterday.
@mr.nicereal62337 жыл бұрын
I drove the G90 twice. The ride quality is on par with the other well known German auto makers. You might think I am exaggerating, but it really is that good. I recommend you to test drive one..you'll be really surprised by how the Koreans managed to put this on the market. I did some research and it seems that the Genesis brand is already a very well established brand in South Korea (obviously) for some time now.

Theyre almost there the gap is so slim now all it comes down to is the germans have more tech and use some better materials (imo luxury is sort of subjective and so is interior design). Theyre close in terms of the regualr everyday cars like a 5 series or e class over this thing? Hmmm its like half the price so if i had to buy new id prob go with this thing tbh. The few things dont justify the massive price diff.
@poymu49296 жыл бұрын
Stefan Cupovic Gap is not slim at all. If you ever owned S class and see every small details and tech inside, G90 feels like empty can. Most people watch these youtube videos and just hear about main topics. but owning is different story. You can to live with it and learn every small feature of a car. S class is light years ahead of Korean car. That's why Korean is cheap and German isn't. You get what you pay for.
@BoogieDownProduction6 жыл бұрын
You dont get what you pay for. Just look at part costs on german vs korean/japanese parts, a fan from both will be cheap plastic but one will be alot more expensive than the other. They need suckers who have limited automotive knowledge

BoogieDownProduction Car price is not about parts. What about engineering and R & D cost? I would say engineering costs more than parts. Everyone can buy parts if they got money. but Idea and engineering can't be bought

@@nova1274 The car now has 67000 miles. The cost of maintenance is relatively inexpensive compared to similar luxury cars. Maybe $80-120 for an oil change, couple hundred for each tire, few hundred for brakes and rotors, $200 for a battery. I have had no mechanical issues. I did have a problem with the head unit causing a parasitic battery draw. A fuse shorted because the battery died and I kept jumping the car for a few days. Ended up having to replace the head unit. I couldn't get a new one because of the chip shortage, but I found a replacement on eBay for $800. Overall, has been very reliable and a great deal.

I have 2 dream car categories: sport & luxury. This car has been in my luxury spot for some time now, and so I'm very excited that you got to review it. I had the privilege to test drive a 2015 Genesis Tau V8 last year and was extremely impressed with its suspension and overall ride, so naturally I'm eager to experience how much more amazing it has gotten with the G90! I'm one of those people who loves technology, solidity, and quality in a car, but also simplicity and ease of maintenance (to a reasonable extent of course). Amidst all the modern luxury vehicles coming out that are essentially "dealer-only" items in the maintenance department, the fact that Hyundai designed a car of this caliber which allows the owner to do his/her own oil changes is very impressive. Another reason I'm a Hyundai & Genesis fan for life.

Another superb review. I respect the heck out of Hyundai’s constant self-improvement mission and it reminds me of how the Japanese became the best. If this car isn’t an LS400 moment at least Hyundai seem intent on trying to get there. Toyota is no. 1 deservedly because they simply make the strongest, longest lasting cars in the world so if Hyundai can usurp them some day by using the same philosophy then good on ‘em.
