Hyundai’s premium challenger brand has done its homework and the all-new Genesis GV70 is an incredibly polished, lavishly equipped and luxurious mid-size SUV.
It’s expected to be the brand’s top-selling model for the foreseeable future and it’s abundantly clear a lot of thought and effort has gone into making it shine.
Not only does it drive nicely, have a suitably lavish and quiet cabin, but it’s bristling with the sort of technology other brands charge extra for, or simply don’t offer.
A range of interior leather choices are free of charge, all models have a massive glass roof and a giant 14.5-inch central touch-screen, and all models come with complimentary servicing for the first five years.
But for all its value, generous equipment levels and impressive build quality, the Genesis GV70 is missing one key ingredient that its German rivals deliver in spades - brand recognition.

I think the styling is gorgeous!! The Koreans are bringing it. In the US, Lexus (Toyota) better get off their butts and STOP living off older technology!

I'm not sure where to start. The customer service department does not care to help at all. I would never recommend a Kia auto to anyone! I gave them every chance to work things out, sent letters, call the BBB and Consumer Affairs, Etc... Still nothing! They just don't care. Look at their Better Business Bureau rating, or google Kia complaints to see what I mean. Don't ever buy one!

@@newchannel1220 The Genesis brand is really trying to be a premium upscale brand in the US. By all accounts they are succeeding with positive customer feedback! Hope they succeed because competition really benefits the consumer.

@@Travis73917 the main reason was interior colour selection was limited to 3 colours which I didn't like, but I got to say I had a 2.5 for 24hr test drive and it's got more than enough power it was fantastic 😀

If only they had dealers. I absolutely love my G80 but will never but another Genesis again until they build dedicated dealers. I have had terrible service experiences at both Hyundai dealers in my area. They are even subpar compared to the Chevy, Honda and Nissan dealers in the area. They can't touch the Acura, Lexus and Mercedes experiences. You pay a premium for high end luxury but you have to deal with the thrift store for sales and service.

@@mpybhm Doesn't take long to order one they are streamlined at that bit, quoted twelve weeks to delivery if it is made to order rather than being a car already built as local stock.

I pre-ordered the 2022 Lexus NX 350 Turbo AWD F Sport with 275bhp, 317 lb ft of torque and 8 speed automatic. Is it worth considering the GV70? Is Genesis as reliable as Lexus?

Lexus is boring to drive and full of old tech. I had the ES350 F Sport, the most boring car I’ve ever owned. I’d get a G70 or GV70 over any comparable Lexus.

@@JohnLee-db9zt so Genesis is better to drive than Lexus? Can't get the GV70 with the 3.5 V6. Way too expensive. The 2.5 is in the NX 350's segment.

@@vinayshsureshram277 Imo yes. The only Lexus I like is the LC500. Lexus maybe more reliable but that’s because they use old engines and old tech. I still think the GV70 with 4 cylinder turbo with 300 hp is better than the NX.

@@JohnLee-db9zt Cool but did you check out the all new 2022 NX? Its a whole new car in many ways - new interior - updated tech(with 14 inch touch screen) and it sits on the latest RAV4 platform (new chassis) and the engine is new as well - more power and torque than before

@@vinayshsureshram277 It’s not a new engine, just “improved”. Toyota has been using that engine for many years. RAV4 platform is not great for handling. All I can say is drive both. Genesis is better in every way that is important to me.
