70 years old & still singing the shit out of these songs!!.. He's like Sting .. there's only ONE of them!!! So blessed to have Genesis, & especially Phil Collins, in the 80s writing songs of my childhood

I' ve been following Genesis since the early 70s. They are playing better than ever. Nic is a revelation. Phil's voice is getting stronger and better with 'live performance therapy' !

Time flies so fast, I remembered when I starting loves Genesis and all Phil Collins songs in 1986 and now I saw him still singing his masterpiece song 'throwing it all away' on his seat with his last energy. I love you Phil, Mike, Tony and all team members, you all still the best band ever on the earth, get well soon Phil !! God bless you all. Thank you for all your songs

I'm trying to go to bed but Genesis won't let me. This is why I find it dangerous listening to Phil. Once I start listening to one song the next thing I know hours have passed.

Same. Starts with Genesis. Sometimes to the solo stuff. Possibly a sidebar to some Gabe. On nights (ahem), I mean mornings that I make it to Brand X.... well.... may as well put on the coffee.

Even today, with Phil's obvious physical limitations Genesis is Genesis!!! Has always been, will always be, they still play tight in the pocket, are rock solid and the touring scene for Phil is therapy in the making. Screw the detractors to their tour, a true Genesis fan will always appreciate their effort and giving us nothing but their very best. We were spoiled rotten during the 80's with their records and Phil's solo career. There wasn't a single radio station around the world that wasn't playing one of their tunes around the clock. Well done gentlemen for making your music stand out even today from a mediocre (generally speaking) music environment. Hopefully Phil's health improves throughout the rest of his life, he deserves it. He generously leaves a true, very-talented, young legacy behind the drums at just 20 years of age. Talk about contribution to music...My heart goes out to all the guys in the band. I don't lose hope that maybe, just maybe between Phil and Chester they bury the hatchet before the tour is over and as a surprise to us all Chester comes on for one final show. That would mean full circle right there.

Phil is AMAZING! He is 70 years old! He has health problems! He is sitting down in a chair. This is a cell phone recording AND STILL sounds so GOOD!!!!!!! Does anyone know just how hard that it is to sing sitting down hunched over? Wow!

It's so sad to see Phil in his current condition, but he sounds surprisingly good. The band is still great.

that was amazing, I have not heard Collins voice in years other then recordings, and honestly expected this from last year to sound like an old man struggling to talk let alone sing. last week he did is last show, he should think about cutting a studio album, it would sell for sure.

Genesis is a unique band in one way. Phil was the drummer, Mike the bass player, Peter the singer and Steve the guitar player. Peter left and Phil took over vocals but continued to also be the drummer. Steve left and Mike took over on guitar and still played bass and guitar on all of their albums. Phil played drums on all of the albums. They were using Chester and Daryl on all of the tours for guitar and drums. Phil used Chester and Daryl on his solo tours and of course of recent Phil's son has been touring instead of Chester. This I consider a very unique situation for decades.

Absolutel disgrace Chester Thompson wasn’t there I’ve followed these from 1980 and Phil sounds terrible and as a drummer myself he’s not a patch on Chester . 30 years with a band and you get fucked off for a kid

I thought phil and chester had a falling out wayy before this, so even if nick wasn't drumming, chester likely still wouldn't have been playing
@Nostaljack3 жыл бұрын
Melinda's right. Chester and Phil had a falling out during the "Going Back" tour. Chester says he has no idea why they fell out. I'm sure he knows; he just isn't saying anything. He also takes some culpability for not being as prepared for those old Motown tunes as he should have been. They haven't spoken in many years. Chester is utterly over it and he's moved on. He wouldn't have been there regardless of Nick's drumming abilities.
@GenGamesUniverse3 жыл бұрын
@@l0ngwaayt0happy They did. Hence why Nic is on drums and not Chester.
