Okay sooo I just need to make sure I’m not crazy… or find out that I am 😅 The intro track sounding like a clash of different sounds is the literal PERFECT intro to an album like this- an album that takes from so many different influences and genres - flips them upside down and mixes them up to create this new fresh sound. The intro track is prepping the listeners for the different genres that will be blended with vocal arrangements that we don’t normally hear on that genre of sound. The first track is foreshadowing the mixtures of genres and vocal execution the listeners are gonna hear. But the intro is the chaos of it all at once. It’s almost like a pallet cleanser if you will lol. You can tell this man’s an artist. This is the first album I’ve listened to in a while that’s felt like a cohesive record. And that includes the intro. I can’t even think of anyone other way he couldn’t started this album off without tying himself to a genre when clearly this album is supposed to teeter the line of an experimental pop project. Okay that’s all. 💗 anyone .. thoughts? … lol -> also! Mr. Fantano- What a great literary analysis of this record and the black dog and what it represents! I enjoyed hearing your interpretation on what exactly the black dog symbolizes and where they come into speaking to the audience/narrator.

The intro track is a moods setter for the genre switching and the psychedelic and experimental approach of the album. It’s not supposed to be a solid piece, but more disjointed to connect well to The Other Black Dog with that repetitive beat (like we land and crash on the album). The song about fishing… isn’t about fishing. There’s def more to it. Same for the black and the other black dog, they are different ways of suffering from depression. One that brings you down down, the other which makes you want to fakely boost yourself to be socially accepted. Nah, I really think this has many secrets to it, it can be a masterpiece in disguise
