@@kebab_boi although the wall is pretty great, if anything, people are putting down Pink Floyd _in general_ , and with it all of their main albums. That's an interesting trend among posers. Then they would say something like "psychedelic era or WYWH was more revolutionary" etc. Or maybe outright say PF is overhyped. Basically everyone the claims some poser knowledge of music says that DSOTM or The Wall are bad. That way, they are downgrading all of their discography. Someone could say that the Piper is their best album, but that would make PF a relatively good psychedelic band that dragged on for no reason. Meanwhile they literally exploded once they moved on from Syd. So those are bot opinions imo. I see DSOTM as this dark grand oddysey across time and space, in space. Whereas the Wall just hits home with me. It's so easy to relate this album, and to love it. If I could choose one LP to get in my life, it would be the original pressing of the Wall. Plus it has Comfortably Numb, which sounds stellar. I love those three descending notes in the background. Everyone praises the second solo, while first gets me in a trance-like state. And that's without drugs lol. Sorry for rambling, TL;DR it comes down to what you prefer. But it's undisputable that their works are God-sent.

Ya I would agree with that, and a lot of time I see that pendulum swing back and forth. For me, that's like Nirvana, the hype was so big, all I ever heard was Nirvana is the greatest band, or greatest 90s band, etc. when personally I didn't even think they were the best grunge band from Seattle. But then the hype gets so big that it becomes "uncool", so then I would hear how overrated they were or how they're not even a very good band, and I thought the same thing they're not really overrated just overhyped, and now I see it swinging back the other way, especially with the younger generation discovering them

While I agree with the take on Dark of The Moon not being as musically complex as their later albums with Roger Waters, I wholly disagree with the album being considered “overrated” I think a better take on the album is when I heard a dude say *Dark Side of The Moon is arguably the greatest album of all time but not the greatest Pink Floyd album* and it somehow makes so much sense to me.

At the same time, it IS their best album. There's nothing else like it.

Definitely funnels back into the "If it's accessible, is it good?" argument that circles around art. I believe Dark Side of the Moon is great BECAUSE it is accessible: it works as an elegant primer into prog that is not initially palatable. There is a culmination to their work where you can start feeling its ruminations within Meddle, and then it continues with WYWH, Animals, and The Wall. I like to think of Dark Side as the entrance to the Roman Coliseum: yes, it's grand, but the space opens up in ways you can scarcely imagine.

The reason why I think blonde is one of the best albums of our generation is because of the way frank introduces his emotions. For its time the style of prediction and use of effects was very unique for the major art world. The way the songs sound and the almost liquid texture I believe really capture what it feels like to be In a period of existential dread. I am also a fan of the points and slight references he makes on the album. He talks about relationships struggles, drug addiction, technology addiction, loneliness and isolation, the fear of losing people and learning to let go, I also have the feeling that he was inspired by 2pacs message about helping others and making sure that everyone has a fighting chance. At the end of the album frank talks about trying to let go of all his worries because he realizes that he can’t fix everything. “ I’m just a guy not a god “

alright, I listened to MBDTF for the very first time of my life a couple days ago and I honestly don't understand the debate people make on how good it is. it's clearly Kanye's most expressive work on an artistic level and it just shows he can do much more than rap. every track on the album sounds amazing and, as Anthony said, even the features still feel like Kanye. the production on this thing is unreal and the lyrics on Kanye's parts are very expressive and clever. his flow feels unique in every track, thr rhyme density is not excessive nor lacking by any means. his delivery is actually more diverse than it is on his other records. either you like or don't like this album, it's amazing. even Anthony, that is still being skeptical about it, ranked it as his 2nd best project. it is one of the best albums ever made. I'm not saying it's perfect and surely it can't be liked by everyone, but you gotta admit it's incredible at everything it does.

"Funeral" by Arcade Fire is still one of the BEST Indie albums of the 00s. Period. Everybody loved that album by the time it came out, for reasons. And the shabby sound is a big part of what made it so great.

I think that just bc an album or piece of music was revolutionary but isn’t now doesn’t mean it’s overrated. For example; Stravinsky’s The Rite of Spring isn’t as revolutionary as it was (there’s been a piece written specifically for each member of a string quartet to be in a different separate helicopter or smth), but is nevertheless respected and enjoyed for its status. It’s also just really fucking good

Trout mask is famous because its organized chaos. They play insane in time. Its really crazy. I watched a video about it that broke down the songs and it made me appreciate more. Its not in my playlist but I don't hate it.

Blond is a revolutionary album. The weak points julesnnz identifies are in fact some of its strongest and what makes it so groundbreaking. It introduced many structural and sonic innovations in the context of pop music that, I reckon, will continue to exert influence over other musical artists for a long time.

Your channel is something I wish I'd discovered earlier. I live in a small place with small friends circle, but you're the only person I've listened to is a genuine critic without pandering to your prejudices; you're honest, and know your shit. Love hearing when you don't know it too.
