Well, OW devs had to give him the iconic Reaper abilities even before he became Reaper because they'd sort of written themselves into a corner when they made the Blackwatch Archives Mission (back in OW1) with Blackwatch Commander Gabriel Reyes, Blackwatch-Moira, Blackwatch-Genji, and McCassidy and realized "Whoops, this is set at a time when Gabriel is still human and not a black smoke cloud of nanites, but we can't invent a whole new set of abilities for this character just for an Archives mission, it would confuse players".

I still remember tearing up at the original “We Are Overwatch” trailer back when I was in high school. I know it’s goofy but something about it just hit me right in the feels. Even watching this tugs at that feeling, and I haven’t played Overwatch in multiple years now. I’ve had ow since day 1! Ibought 2 copies 1for pc and 1 for PlayStation. Spent loads on loot boxes until I found out there was no cross save. Then crosssave comes, so I think I will be more than happy to spend money on the game, because surely there will be a fully fledged campaign. I would have bought a whole campaign but little piecemeal bits bundled with the battle pass feels like a slap to the face. I would’ve spent AAA prices for the campaign, but now all I’m going to do is watch someone else play the mission due to the mission being so short, compared to being a AAA title

That's true, however, it's 'expanded' backwards. This is telling us still how the Omnic Crisis started. Instead, we should know what's actually going on 'right now', what _are_ the ongoing events. I hope they do expand on that. For now of course it makes sense they start from the beginning (obviously) but it's not like we didn't know that there was an Omnic war, it was made particularly clear with the Bastion CGI Short and the Reinhardt CGI Short many years ago.

Maybe they should throw the games overboard für now, and concentrate on making a whole lot more out of the Story. The lore has so much potential. And maybe there will be even enough space for something like an Single Player game that covers everyones origin Story episodic, like telltale games.

@@leander2843 fun fact: the overwatch devs litterally said that they'd want to focus more on the story for now, but the blizzard executives kept putting pressure on them to prevent them from focusing on the story and instead focus on PVP since the DAY OW2 got announced

I could not stress this enough. If only Overwatch receives LoL's Arcane treatment and be given an animated series instead of OW 2, the franchise could literally be resurrected and take off. Weekly episodes, synchronized with monthly PvE contents once in a while, Overwatch could have been a huge franchise. With a vast and colorful lore, a team of animators and writers who don't miss... we could have had it all. But no. They went with the decision of making OW 2. I always feel like OW 2 is a shower/before bed idea that one of the Blizzard/Activision higher ups/execs came up with and would force it to the OW developer team. The decision feels so, so, impulsive and reckless. This might have been the reason why Jeff left in the first place. I'm hurt that this franchise I have loved for 7 years fell off. But I am far more hurt and disappointed knowing that OW could have been the greatest franchise with so much potential, only to fail.

You can make your own clan if you only like just playing with your people. The more likely situation is you don't have anybody to play with that you like, it is a team based game after all but that is only something you can control. Team based shooters are going to get the adrenalin going and you need to understand that not everybody is reacts to pressure or processes emotions like you. Most people are nice and just want to play.

These new shorts are giving me chills. seriosly wel done to the teams on this. I sugges... and probably many others will too, that their should be a full on series... or hour long movies or antying that will expand on their stories. The story of the omnics and the world... I believe it will succeed greatly.. on KZbin, Crunchyroll original, Hulu original, Netflix original... anywhere will succeed. The teams have done amazing work over the years for trailers of new heroes. I bet they would do amazing jobs like this if they were longer too

I get that this is shot in a documentary style for the sake of brevity, but if they just dud this same story but told through actual dialog would be so much better. Could have been a full-length series easily. This feels like a recap.

I would absolutely love to see a ‘personified physical’ version of Anubis which could have the ability to summon the null sector pve robots. Very cool design and amazing concept. It would be a crazy new take on the support role, providing additional manpower in a losing team fight.

Y'know, something that I think is underutilized is the concept that Omnics were hijacked for Anubis' goals. Imagine how traumatizing it must be to look back on your memories and remember years upon years of violence that your body committed with no control over it. Honestly, Omnics probably have as much PTSD from the crisis as humans do.
