There's so much to love about this performance but Phil's improvised vocals in particular are what makes it. They were soulful and moving. So good to the point where you hate that it wasn't the vocals on the original song.

Out of all the singers Genesis had Phil Collins in my opinion was the sound of Genesis, just as Peter Cetera was the voice of Chicago the same goes for Steve Perry and journey.

Not flashy, but so good. I was walking around one of the home improvement stores last week, 2019 mind you, and this song came on the Muzak (yes, they still use Muzak, but it's no longer elevator music), and I thought OMG this is so good. It reminded me how great Phil Collins is, so many songs. Thank you Phil for making my day. I looked it up on KZbin and hear I am. I had forgotten how good this song is. Very understated and very underrated.
@coopermuccio44092 жыл бұрын
I started listening to this song because of how catch it was. I then went through a heartbreak with a girl. I've been listening to this song because of how much sense it made and it helped me get through that tough time. This happened early this year but I listen to this everyday to think of her and just to listen to how well this aged. This used to make sad when I listened to it because of that time but it doesn't bother me at all and I've gotten over it enough where it doesn't feel negative. This is the most powerful version of this song and live performances aren't the best normally. This just melts my heart. I'm lost for words really on how to describe this.
