Nice overview as always :) That said, I would expect the rules for Genestealer gangs/corruption to get updated in the upcoming Hive Secundus hardback expansion book (if it is not already in the softback rulebook in the boxset); might even bring GSC 'subfactions', as in Purestrain originating from 'off-world' (these rules you just described) as separate/different from Malstrain genestealers originating from Secundus (maybe have Malstrain Genestealer mutants instead of Aberrants, as their 'specialist' melee ganger). Well, I definitely gonna try after the next campaign to corrupt my Orlocks with regular genestealers. Gosh, cant wait to have THE TANKIEST leader ever with triple Familiar, Iron hard, Iron stare n true grit prolly (and to get some juicy armor) and to have like 4 wreckers with extra arms

Benefits of the brood says you gain access to a cult icon and it is not says anything about familiar. So I think you can't buy familiar. Aberrant also use a champion slot, like it has gang hiearchy. Also we play as the corrupted gangs get the negatives (expensive mediccal escort, captured fighter) of the genestealers.
