As an Ork player I believe in the power of conversion. A couple of intelligent 4 armed orks waiving more choppas might be interesting. Tyranid models are very unique. On the other hand I think lore wise this wouldn't happen. Ork would curb stomp any 4 armed ork. But a grot army infected by gene stealers could be interesting

I think Jokaero Genestealer Cults would be particularly dangerous due to their innate technological prowess. A Pariah Genstealer Cult would also be incredibly dangerous as it would likely develop a psychic null field that far exceeds that if the Shadow in the Warp.

Through intermingling, the hybrids become more and more indistinguishable from the host species, fine. But what I never got was how the next generation suddenly leads back to pure-strains.

It makes a bit more sense if you consider the fact that the Genestealers are not the result of natural evolution, but were specifically created by the Tyranids to infiltrate sociities. The genetic material needed to make a purestrain genestealer is never lost, it's just transfered down the generations, up until you reach the 4th generation, at which point something in the genestealer/hybrid DNA is "triggered" and allows for the creation of new purestrain genestealers. I don't think the exact mechanics for this are ever explained though, just that the Tyranids engineered genestealers to work this way, as this is the point where the cult is large enough to be likely to be able to hide the purestrain stealers.

The idea of a Tau Ethereal being infected by Genestealers is frankly terrifying. They already have total control of the other castes and can use that influence to ensure that members of the other castes are infected. Even if the Tau castes cannot interbreed with one another, if you can get just one member of all five castes infected, then you potentially have a brood spreading across an entire sept world and with access to advanced Tau weapons and technology

Well there is a short story with a similar moment involving Inquisitor, Draken I think it is? The one who's all buddy buddy with the clowns of the library. He pops out a webway gate that is inside the Eye of Terror. In there, is a crashed imperial ship that he investigates. A group of survivors are there that he discovers seems a bit... off... Towards the end it is revealed that a horde of daemons, larger than the others the ship's population had fought off already, was coming to doom them all. A mother with an infant runs up to the Inquisitor begging to save her baby. He considers it, he goes to take the child. And he sees in there the nightmarish hybrid... and walks away to leave them to their fate. But otherwise you have to remember one thing that aids Genestealer Cults is on a lot of Imperial Worlds (It seems, far more work like this than what the general memes would suggest otherwise), mutants are just accepted. Oh they're accepted as second class citizens. But mutants work in the crappy jobs as it were. Mining, farming, cutting down forests, as brute porters man hauling things to where they have to go, etc. They're not all "Shoot on sight". And as such they have mutant populations. And well... a mutant being born? It hits less alarm bells, particularly if the medicae who delivered them wouldn't know of Genestealers in particular (most wouldn't after all outside of the likes of Hospitalliers). It's just another Mutant to be added to the mutant population, working in the mines or the like.

Seclusion perhaps, it's not that unusual for groups of eldar to do their own thing for a while. It would mean quite a number would have to have been infected in the first place. The exact right one's in fact. But wasn't the craftworld in trouble anyway? It dissapeared.

My theory has always been that the genestealers are still working on adapting to to the Ork genome, hence why their hybrids are cruder and much easier to sniff out. In time, they might be able to infect an Ork and adapt his spore cycle rather than subvert him directly; spreading infected ork spores across a planet will eventually result in a very large population of first gen ork hybrids that are loyal exclusively to the new Genestealer “War-Father.” From there, they can breed in secret, fighting among themselves and killing each other until theyve produced enough spores to look like regular orks, then they can start stirring up some real trouble. Think of it; thousands of Ork roks, containing millions of orks each, just feeding themselves one after another to a waiting fleet of hive ships. That’d terrify me more than any Dark Elder sex toy.

@@40KTheories Uhm, based on the Grey Knights audio drama "Incorruptible" (where a _Grey Knight_ ends up getting jumped and infected by the ol' Nid jean thieves. But since it wasn't _Chaos_ they can still claim that no member of the Grey Knights has ever been corrupted by Chaos), yeah, it's possible for Space Marines to get infected. Now, _spreading_ that infection themselves is another matter entirely.

The Grey Knight was under the psychic sway of the Brood Mind as opposed to being implanted with Genestealer genetic material, if memory serves me correctly, as the Grey Knight was able to regain control of himself once the presence of the Brood Mind had weakened, allowing him to request his own execution for being 'impure'. Chris Lacombe actually dark eldar are bad targets, due to their natural superiority complex (meaning the hybrid would be noticed quickly (1st/2nd/etc generation hybrids) amongst the true born (which i where they would be as far as i am aware no new genetic material is added to the vats for the vat born) combined with this that true borns are rare and hardly get into possitions to be infected it seems unlikely. at best dark eldar slaves or an individual dark eldar (who is murdered )

Yes, Chaos Genestealer cults are thing. One such example is the Cult Tenebrous (from the 7th and 8th edition GC codex) which is a Genestealer Cult dedicated to Nurgle.
