The distance between b and c is - all SCOs/1000 * 100 = 21.8 cM and not simply 14+9=23

Bc a is the only gene that changes while c and b remain the same. the gene that is in the middle--- has to change while the other two genes remain the same

We know that "observed" DCO are 4 + 2 = 6 How do you calculate "expected" DCO? For DCO to happen both SCO 1 and SCO 2 must happen (Product Rule). Therefore we know that (46+38+4+2) out of 1000 (0.09) SCO-BA happened x (71+63+4+2) out of 1000 (0.14) SCO-AC happened. So the probability of DCO == (0.09)(0.14) = 0.0126
