It'd be cool if you guys could also do a people's profiles of lesser known Steppe conquerors such as Tamerlane and Nurhaci, there's barely any KZbin content about them, especially since Nurhaci was basically the guy who set in motion the founding of the Qing Dynasty of China

Absolutely fantastic. I've always found Genghis to be the most fascinating historical leader. Millions died when he roamed central Asia and beyond, but it's still awe inspiring to learn about what he achieved from a military perspective. I also like that he was tolerant to religious views despite having his own pagan beliefs. Thank you for the video 👊

the Mongols generally didn't take many casualties. They valued their soldiers and engaged in tactics which preserved their armies.
I am amazed every time I read another book or watch a show on Genghis Khan to Kublai Khan. How they went from tribal steppe to emperor's overnight and allowed religious tolerance is amazing. We could learn from religious tolerance.
@TheSnoeedog3 ай бұрын
we could learn even more if we got rid of religions altogether
@cyborgchicken35022 ай бұрын
@@TheSnoeedog oh like how Communist China, Soviet Russia and Khmer Rouge Cambodia did which led to genocides in the name of atheist Marxism right or like how North Korea currently brutally oppresses anyone that is caught being religious?? Maybe u should go look into what the Chinese Red Guards did to religious people and religious centers such as Buddhist temples doing the cultural revolution or what the Khmer Rouge did to any Cambodian Buddhists or Christians in the name of atheism and because "religion is the opium of the masses" according to Karl Marx, or why not look into what the Soviet Union did to the Russian Orthodox Christians or to Russian Jews or Muslims in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan... U edgy atheists really are ignorant when it comes to human history... Atheism is as guilty of persecution, oppression, suppression and violence as religion is... He was a very forward thinking man who granted imens power to his daughters, and the daughters in turn made sure that his territories were well ruled.

His only desire was to unify tribes, peoples and nations. His moral was: "Those who are not with me, are against me." It is similar to the moral of another great man: Jesus. St. Matthew 12:30-33 RVC "He who is not with me, is against me (................) every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven, except the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit." In the same way the Great Khan would also say: I forgive all those who surrender to me, except those who raise their weapons against me and especially those who are disloyal! And so he did. Ask the Muslims and the Jin, the Xia Xia, Europeans, Tartars, etc. A great man, a great inspiration, a noble soul. If being illiterate he achieved what he achieved, I can already imagine what he would have achieved if he had been literate! In any case, he achieved the impossible: The Pax Mongolica. Which is an interesting separate chapter.

Huchlug of the Naimans was Christian. Queen Burte was not daughter of Ong khan. Rather from a small tribe his mother was from. The subjects of Genghis were not of turkic origin to begin with. The beginning of the narrative deviates from secret history when it comes to origin of the people mentioned and their relations, and secret history is the only source that mentions about such details. Other than liked it very much.
