plz correct that..u have to take 1 pu..bcoz at fault point prefault voltage is 1pu.. or you can take SCMVA=Efpu*Ifpu + Empu*Impu..both method will give you 750MVA..ok

How did you assume voltage of bus as 1 p.u? The base voltage could be different for reactance p.u values

sir i learned a lot from you, here, Vf(p.u.)=1 p.u.,Zf(p.u.)=inv(inv(0.1)+inv(0.2))... If(p.u.)=-15jp.u.....gives the same answer...may be if Vf(p.u.)=not given and Eg,Em given this procedure could be helpfull...and as you said pu is only defined in per phase...then Ef(p.u.)= (11/root(3))/(11/(root(3))) rather than 11/11.and one thing is fault cuurent always line current?

thevenins voltage is 1pu and thevenins resistance is j0.1//j0.2........short the terminals of this thevenins network.......we will get 1 p.u./j0.066667 = 15 at -90

Sir short circuit MVA(at bus) is coming out to be 750 by MVA method and 751 by Ef*If method. But you wrote it as .9638*15 which is somewhat faulty, because even if we see MVA rating of CB placed near to generator we have to see fault current flowing at that location and that is 10 pu, so .9687*10 at gen side, 1.0796*5 at motor side and net sc MVA will be addition of both and it is 751 MVA...by MVA method it is 750.. Kindly mark your comment sir and clarify my concepts... Only dependent on your lectures

@ 27:47 Why is SCMVA= E(gen)p.u. * If(p.u.) ??? Sir, but the back emf of the synch. motor also accounts for the fault current?? So, why isn't SCMVA= E(motor)p.u. * If (p.u.) ????

@@ManOn-hb2xu you might be doing mistake in adding MVA in parallel... Check ur calculations.. you will get it

Thanks a lot Mayank for your reply , actually I was doing mistake in taking MVA, I took 25 instead of 50 MVA for 2nd circuit(motor circuit).

Just started watching this crash course. It is really sad that I will not be able to complete this before GATE 2019. Nevertheless power system is becoming so much easier. sir in case of P(pu) both values are in Mw but in this pic(at time 6.18) one is in MW andother is in MVA that is (25/45) is getting ... can you explain me again pls

Sir during fault motor also act as source then why in d calculation of SCMVA you only took Eg(pu)×If (pu)

Sir when you replace 1 p.u voltage by 1 p.u voltage source (18:20 min)....then how current flowing in generator and motor will same????...here, through 1 p.u voltage source some current must flow.....plz sir give me reply....plz plz....

Sir , power wale formula me agar hum active power per unit find kar rahe hai..to mva jo diya hai use hi sidha 0.8 se multiply kar de to dono quantity MW me ho jayegi..to per unit ka answer change ho jayega?????
