I've been using a Menards pail and doing that for years. Put the cover on and you never have to worry about it collecting moisture and becoming a brick.

I use a walk-behind fertilizer spreader! It works perfect!! Just make sure you get a little finer salt for it. I use safestep 6300 blend

We made a bunch of these when we use to do the Honda manufacturing plant. We would take 2 bolts with round eyelets (or whatever you call them. We would take flat fender washer use those to help hold the bolts in place after drilling the holes. Then we would use our weed eater straps and clip them on the eyelets of the bucket. We made them on 5 gal buckets and 2.5gal buckets for the girls.

I use a spreader for most residential jobs. However, who knew I actually invented the "Deluxe Salt Sling" for my smaller 25# jobs? My two look just like Mike's but it's the twist on Gamma Seal lids on top that make them deluxe. Having two makes it easy to break open a 50# bag of salt and evenly split it before resealing it for transport. We're not going to be seeing this one on Shark Tank anytime soon. The deluxe varient is only for sale in pieces. $3 for the bucket, $7 for the Gamma Seal lid, and $2 for the strap.

7 for lid, damn. I pay 3 for bucket with a lid. Only way 40 would be worth is if I came with top quality urea pellets lol
@mrdavebach3 жыл бұрын
@@terrypercy Settle down I'm not finished. You see I get the lids at Menard's so you know there's an 11% discount to add in. Then again I haven't sent in a rebate there for years because it's Menard's so you know it's hit or miss on those rebates ever making their way back to you. I did however save a small fortune by eliminating all of that goofy looking lettering from my Deluxe Salt Sling.

@@mrdavebach no hate to you directly. I am always just shocked at difference in pricing. I’m here in Canada, we don’t even have a Maynard’s. Straps are twice as much out here. But lids half as much, and buckets the same.

@BoxOPirateCrayons Жыл бұрын
If you want to make it a better contraption, add a rubber stopper to the top that lets your arm go in and out easy but keeps the salt in if you slip and take a fall! Otherwise you’ve got a bunch of salt poured everywhere.
