Das was Du "erfunden" hast, nennt sich "Mitlaufende Zentrierspitze". (Gibts auch als Set mit auswechselbaren Einsätzen) Das Wälzager, das Du wählen solltest, wäre ein Kegelrollenlager nach DIN 628 oder ein Kegelrollenlager nach DIN 720. Kannst Dir ja auch mal anschauen, wie Mitlaufende Zentrierspitzen aufgebaut sind. Die haben oft sogar 3 verschiedene Wälzlager verbaut.

A center with a bearing that cannot absorb thrust, centered by a drill chuck, which is not designed to take side pressure, all sticking out way past the tail stock spindle. Seems like a great way to chatter knurl some parts

Hi @ThePigslayer. It's like saying you can't tighten or undo a hexagon nut with an adjustable spanner. I think we all know both tools work, and one in most of many cases is superior to the other ... 🤔

It does exist everywhere! I've been using revolving pipe centres for at least 50 years , many different sizes for various I.D. of pipe. Not exactly your invention.

So instead of turning the tailstock hand wheel to change the chick with a live center you turn the chuck and switch the bit with the live center. A genius invention indeed 😂😂😂 you gain .5 seconds and you trow away all the rigidity in the live center
