@@TheMobReporter It seems like the "crew" was a lot bigger than even the players in the heist you just listed. If it had just been those people involved with the robbery itself, they just might have gotten away with it. The preexisting surveillance was the key to the whole thing getting busted. I guess all the stolen cars required is probably the most complex aspect. Gathering that many stolen cars of the type required (tow truck included) would require a large gang of "competent" criminals.

The guys bust in the shops and sell the stuff on fb marketplace, only to get insta-jailed? Phones don't try to automatically connect to random Wi-Fi unless it's a Wi-Fi you already been connected to and you turn on your Wi-Fi. The way it works is : Phone constantly try to connect to a cell tower usually where the signal is stronger hence closer, when doing so, your phone broadcasts its IMEI (Your phone's unique identifier) to a cell tower. Now the part that can reveal you identity : Your sim card(Subscriber Identity Module) also has an identifier called ICCID and IMSI (identifies your subscription to a particular cellular network). Now if you are on a monthly contract you are screwed, but if you got your prepaid sim card and used cash when you bought it without requiring an id, you're good.

I think your not aware sir. My partners got a fam member in the pentagon and he told us that the capitol has rfid scanning all throughout. What that means is regardless of a work connection if your on capital property they have full access to your phone. Not everywhere has this technology and I highly doubt that jewelry store does. It’s pretty hard to track a phone you don’t know who the user is

I'll bet these criminals all had their truly ID'd personal phone on them during the grab, and they got triangulated as 5 feet or less apart during the 'getaway', which they did not pull off. "I wasn't there" Det: "Well we already got you to tell us that only you had your phone, and no one borrowed it. Your phone was outside, then inside, then straight to the clubhouse where we took it off of you, and always within feet of everyone else's phones." Det. Smartass: "Thank You! For trusting Rogers with your cell phone service!"

I'll never understand why ppl bring their phone with them to go commit a crime. The phone is literally a witness against you. Tie your phone to your dog, stream a 3 hour movie and you've got an alibi.

The security cameras being an hour out of sync could have been an incredible touch of luck for them had they not fucked up. It could have let them set up an alibi elsewhere. I also love imagining the witnesses outside like "wtf is. Happened? They crashed into the building!" Then one guy peeks in like "yoooo they're robbing the storeee!!" Everyone ghasps and dips.

A "genius" heist would involve them totally getting away. This was a well thought out, and decently planned heist. I really give them some extra points for using a damn tow truck. That back bumper and rig is so forged on the back if those, perfect battering ram

It wasn’t hard to find - it was found abandoned on the street, it’s bed filled with broken glass from the jewelry store window. I have those photos too. Maybe should have put them in! 😆

I used to tag along the riverbank, some billboards, ECT. Everytime I'd leave to do my stuff, I'd park my car In a safe area(no tickets, street sweeper, ECT) and I'd leave my wallet with id and anything that can identify me in the car. I don't do that no more but it's just common sense to have nothing on you if you have to run away
