I remember backing this project on Kickstarter. It’s one of the only projects I’ve ever backed because using an elgato capture card on a Mac is a damn nightmare. The Shadowcast on the other hand? Just plug a USB-C cable into the device and the other end into your computer and you’re done. It’s the best capture card for people on a budget like me!

Great video and 100% agree the Shadowcast has been for me the most important video device I've bought imo for a long time. Before the camera companies were allowing for USB webcam usage, I was using the Shadowcast as my way of using it as a webcam for my desktop to my Fujifilm camera. Nowadays, it still is in high use for things like the following: - Setting up my Fold 5 as an external viewfinder for my camera while out and about for a bigger screen - Using my Fold 5 as a monitor for my desktop / media server / mini pc when troubleshooting issues and need a screen - Split screen gaming between two computers with their own monitors setup (One person has the game running with the shadowcast in it and the other has the USB C into their computer while both controllers connected to the main computer) - Playing consoles while either at my desktop or connected to the Fold 5 as a monitor Sure there is a dozen more uses and I'm excited to see what others are using it for here too

i backed the kickstarter but didn't use it for a long time. Recently i've found it and had a blast with it! I've not had any problems with latency when playing on my switch. I backed the new kickstarter as well :D

I have to be honest I do most of those things with a generic HDMI capture device but that webapp sounds interesting. I could use an old netbook I still have around as more of a portable monitor.

the latency on the device for any kind of gaming is really bad, even if your just playing mario
