The funny thing is that Saitama states he sees Genos being "a little faster" while even Sonic can't see him moving clearly. That would explain why Saitama says martial arts are just "moves that look cool". His perception is so increased he sees things moving more slowly than usual, so to him martial arts are literally people moving in a cool way.

This fight scene isn't bad but personnally I expected soooo much better! This fight is absolutely beautiful in the manga, an aesthetical masterpiece (like every fight drawn by Murata sensei in general). So i was really expecting something at least on the level of beauty as the animation of Saitama vs Genos fight from season 1. Here the way I felt after watching this was "meh.." I thought maybe my screen resolution is just too low, so I set it to the maximum and it was still not that great. It's messy, there's no back and forth of the camera between wide angles and close up like there was in the SaitamaVsGenos fight of season1, everything feels very stiff and cramped, too much close up. Not only we can't breathe cause everything feels too much "in the face" but also it takes away a key element of Sonic scenes from the manga, it's the fact that this guy has a lot of aerial choreography in his movements, like Spiderman. He jumps a lot and Yusuke Murata spent a lot of times detailing all his movements, jumps, landing, and you can tell he had fun drawing the aerodynamic mid-air pauses of Sonic. In fact he put so much dedication in Sonic's figure and movements that people in forums and fanmails asked questions like: "why does Sonic look so good in this fight? He's so graceful in his movements in the GenosVs Sonic fight that he almost look feminine! I thought Sonic was a girl! Sonic has no business looking so sexy and feminine!" To which if i remember correctly Murata responded that he likes drawing feminine figures but didn't get to draw a lot of women recently so he went off with Sonic because as a ninja he's supposed to have something almost feline about the way he moves, and also because Murata likes drawing fight scenes so he thought he could do both in one with the character of Sonic. And this difference of Sonic's aerial- almost feminine- ninja agility combined with Genos' raw masculine power made for a really interesting fight based on extreme speed. tbh I thought this fight was gonna be the animator's time to shine and show off what they got like they did in the Saitama Vs Genos fight of season1 So i was really expecting something much more INTENSE! More colorful, with a super intense background music, lots of very different angles (wide angles, close up, high angle, low angle, rotating angle, etc..) and change of speed, sometimes super fast, sometimes slow motion, lots of jumping, dodging and 1000x more fluidity in the animation, almost like a dance but super fast and destructive Here we got: lot's of talking, lots of close-up, lots of smoke and cloud of dusts to not have to draw backgrounds, many still shots to gain time (or sometimes there's just the mouth moving cause they talk but otherwise it's still), special effects on dark backgrounds, slow mo scenes where the artstyle of their faces looks kinda half assed and not very pretty like at 1:33 and many other moments, cramped fight scenes like at 1:43 in moments where a wide moving angle would have been so cool. Overall the viewpoint of the entire fight is just so narrow it almost feels claustrophobic. I feel like I saw to much and yet I didn't see anything at the same time. But apart from that it wasn't that bad. It's just that it wasn't particularly good either. And it's just my opinion, everyone is free to disagree with me of course

I don’t see peoples issues with seasons 2 animations. Sure it’s not a good as season 1 but it’s not as bad as people make it out to be, I actually enjoyed season 2

Same. Aside from some weird moments with art style and a little laziness in detail (like shadows and facial details), I am enjoying it a lot so far. People really need to give season 2 more appreciation…
