I ship Zhongli with Guizhong because I love how they use to be best friends, but it's just sad that she's gone now since Zhongli is considered immortal. life like that is pretty awful seeing those your mortal friend passes away

Well you learn his story through the character stories a s dialogue with the friendship levels. And you learn so more with his story quest at AR40

That's the goddess of dust, Lady Guizhong.

Guizhong, goddess of dust. Lore talks about how she and Zhongli used to rule over people together -- specifically in Guili Plains (GUIzhong + zhongLI). Sadly, she died (during the archon war?) and that's when Zhongli moved the people to the current area of Liyue.
