Not at all, I'm not sure if you know this, But this is actually a lullaby from Guizhong, The Goddess of Dust. which she sang for Zhongli. Guizhong is presumed to be Zhongli's lover during the Archon War, which is why this song is named "Lover's Oath".

Lover's Oath, original Chinese name 蒲苇如丝, meaning "pampas grass is like silk", is taken from an old Chinese poem "Southeast fly the peacock". The poem is a tragic story about two lovers who are forced to be separated, and turned into birds after they died. The section of the poem where the name of the song takes its inspiration from is an oath the wife made to her husband before they suicided together by jumping into water, and it goes like this: 君当作磐石，妾当作蒲苇 蒲苇韧如丝，磐石无转移 roughly translated: You (husband) must be like a stone, and I (wife) must be like pampas grass The grass is strong like silk, the stone can't be moved It is an oath between lovers, symbolizes the pursue of free love, and that love is eternal, it's stronger than death Interestingly, Xiao's constellation in game is also a bird. The devs likely did this on purpose when they made this song the song that plays when we first met Xiao

(Lore spoilers) The association is very interesting given the fact that there is lore about someone who tried to elope(?) with a Seelie(??seele?) in the past/the association with the moon sisters (and this song plays when we first meet Xiao at the moon/moonlight inn). There's also the fact that Wangshu Inn (once again, moon/moonlight inn where we first hear this song) is described as "a popular place for lovers' rendezvous" (something like that). I love the hints running through this game but especially the ties to culture/history and mythology so, so much.

​@@randomcat1151 ​nah this actually isn't a joke. This song was supposed to be Xiao and Traveler's theme, since it only played twice in the game (1. Traveler meets Xiao, 2. The Floral Zither event where Xiao plays it with the Traveler). However, a KZbin video gave it the name of "Guizhong's lullaby" and for reasons unknown, it spread like wildfire and it became the theme of Guizhong x Zhongli instead of Xiao x Traveler (thankfully both are my fav ships)

Wangshuu in is a place for lovers, and zhongli visits xiao in wangshuu in frequently to the point that hu tao has to drag him back sometimes, and this melody being called lovers oath is just 😔👌 as a zhongxiao shipper it’s like giving us a whole cake
