Alice: - Klee's mom. - A "long life" species like Klee. - An adventurer and the writer of the Teyvat Travel Guide. - "Near omnipotent mage" - A powerful sorcerer that casually modified a whole archipelago and turned it to a summer park for her daughter. She's more important to the lore of the world btw, but that's more into the future. No spoilers, but you'll see her relevance more and more starting from just before Sumeru. Also Alice actually narrates Collected Miscellanies of characters like Dainsleif does. In fact that's probably where you first heard her voice ever, you just didn't know who she was. Curiously, you'll find her narrating certain types of characters. One of those are the ones she is close with(with exception to Klee, her VA was probably still not casted yet). Another type of character she narrates are those either from outside of this world(crossover character) or those who affected fundamentals laws of the world. I won't say who those are for spoiler reasons. Also Diluc and Kaeya are brothers although not by blood. Kaeya is adopted by Diluc's family. Jean and Barbara are blood sisters but the reason why they have different last names is because their parents are seperated. Jean went with their mother Frederica Gunnhildr and Barbara went with their father Seamus Pegg, hence Jean Gunhildr and Barbara Pegg. Finally a slight trivia you might not know. The 3 most prominent families of Mondstadt are the Gunhildr, Ragnvindr, and Lawrence. Jean is obviously a Gunhildr(technically Barbara too) but then you might wonder who are the rest? Diluc is a Ragnvindr while Eula is a Lawrence.

Razor actually considers Klee to be his "lupical", or family in wolf-ish. But it's exactly because he's one of her "big brothers" that he has a lot of experience with Klee and her explosive ways of solving problems, so he avoids dragging her into things, particularly when risking a forest fire...

There were lots of sidequests about the history of the islands and solving the various mysteries. If I remember correctly, it went something like this: These islands were actually mountains from Mondstadt. When Venti first terraformed the land to make it habitable for humans, in the process of blowing away the ice and snow, he ripped these mountains out of the land and hurled them into the sea (yes, Venti was that powerful), which formed the Archipelago. Some time later, there was a population of people who had lived on these islands after their ancestors had been shipwrecked there who knows how long ago. Later a pirate ship from the fleet of Ako Domeki (a historical figure who we later found out was quite important to the history of Inazuma) was shipwrecked there. They brought with them the Maguu Kenki, an automaton they had stolen from the Inazuma Shogunate. The Maguu Kenki protected the islanders from monsters, and they came to call it the General. A pirate from the ship formed a relationship with a girl from the island people, and told her stories of the outside world. She and the rest of the younger generation became determined to leave the islands, while the older generation thought it was hopeless. But the girl and the pirate actually managed to find the route out, and the entire population managed to leave safely. They couldn't bring the Maguu Kenki with them, possibly because it was damaged or possibly because it was just too big, so they built that monument in recognition of all it had done for them. I believe they later made it back to Mondstadt, but I'm not certain about that. Some time later, Alice discovered the islands and installed all those mechanisms. Her friend, Mona's master, also built an observatory on one of the islands, but later abandoned it because she didn't think it was an ideal location.

I remember exploring these islands that are full of fun puzzles & mini games, with many hidden treasures, great lore & music, with relaxing gameplays with some combat. The stories & cut scenes were just the icing of the cake. We also got to fight the new & 1st Boss from Inazuma, & the 1st skin set of Barbara & Jean....very nostalgic after some few years ago.

So as before, this entire event was not just a cute story about a mother trying to make a fun summer adventure for her daughter. This island event was also a promotion for 3 specific things: 1. The alternate costumes of Jean and Barbara. Gacha games make big money when it comes to making costumes for characters, but for some reason Genshin seems to be very slow with this as we only get alternate costumes every other event. Which is like a 2-3 month gap. 2. The Boat sailing mechanic that they would later implement into Inazuma/Sumeru/Fontaine. Basically a new exploration feature for the 3 future regions you would visit. 3. Basically anything related to Inazuma. The robot sword boss which would appear again in Inazuma for you to fight & the amount of lore related to the former inhabitants and their connection to Inazuma. Genshin usually uses their events to promote future stuff that only fans can catch on if they play through it.

Alice, Klee's mom, is such a MASSIVELY important character to the lore of the game that we know next to nothing about even today. One thing is absolutely certain though, and that is Albedo is still underselling her even when calling her near omnipotent. From certain conversations and tidbits we've picked up about her over the years, at times she sounds like more of a godlike being than the actual gods of Genshin's universe. She's foundationally important to the very fundamentals of how Genshin's universe even works, possesses magic powerful enough to create entire other worlds and even life itself, and has been implied to hop between other universes on a whim, including our own universe which is where it's implied that she learned about the concept of pop idols which she then came back and told Barbara about because she just felt like it was something that her universe could use. She is a wild character that whenever we get the tiniest scraps of information about her everyone in the community goes rabid picking it apart.

I will not be able to keep this comment short im sorry. Diluc and Kaeya are like.. stupid and i say that with all the affection i have towards them. So towards the end of summer on some random afternoon Kaeya was left in Mondstadt near the Dawn Winery by his biological father. This happened around 14-18 years ago in the story (timeline is not super clear) and since he was left near their winery Kaeya was adopted/taken in by the Ragnvindr clan aka Dilucs family. They were then raised together by Crepus, Dilucs father (+ staff), and they got along amazingly. They presumably joined the Knights together at a very young age as Diluc became the Cavalry Captain at the age of 14 (the position that Kaeya now holds) and Kaeya had his back with everything. "Many citizens still remember the two most eye-catching young gentlemen in all of Mondstadt a few years ago. One of them was the dapper Diluc, an elegant swordsman who always had a warm smile and a confident posture. The other was the eccentric Kaeya. He was Diluc's friend, supporter, and sounding board, ensuring he got through every challenge he faced smoothly. They were almost like twins, knowing each other's thoughts and intentions without a word, protecting Mondstadt in both light and dark." Funny enough back when they were kids Diluc was the troublemaker while Kaeya was more reserved and now its like backwards. Diluc was also the one trying to sneak alcohol and now he hates it while Kaeya is the one trying to raid his cellars. Everything sort of fell apart when Crepus was killed on Dilucs 18th birthday & Kaeya decided that was the day to drop a bombshell about the reason he was truly left near the winery all those years ago. Long story short Kaeya was lying about his identity, Diluc felt betrayed & basically tried to kill him & their paths diverged that night. Soon after Diluc resigned from the Knights over a dispute regarding his fathers passing & left Mondstadt entirely for 3 years. In that time Kaeya had moved to the city of Mondstadt & taken over Dilucs position as Cavalry Captain. Diluc then returned and took over the Dawn Winery but despite an invitation he refused to rejoin the Knights ever again. So they dont get along very well but they cant really avoid each other either so we get all these silly interactions. They do however communicate & share information or sometimes even work together. Still Diluc & Kaeyas relationship is.. strained. More on Dilucs side less on Kaeyas side. Its just they both avoid talking about the past so they havent properly reconciled cos again theyre stupid. I feel their relationship is slowly improving & the staff at Dawn Winery have repeatedly told Kaeya that he needs to visit more and hell always have a home to return to there. I dare say Diluc agrees but hes emotionally constipated so hes not gonna admit it & Kaeya is a coward whos avoiding the winery.

I also just now remembered something I couldve added into my original comment to better connect Alice to characters you're already familiar with. Alice kept a watchful eye on Diluc long before his father died. She actually sent Diluc a letter after he had already left Mondstadt when she heard of his fathers passing. She offered her condolences, comfort and suggested that Diluc travel the world while he processes everything & heals. She also mentioned an occasion when Klee had made a mess of the vineyards at Dawn Winery trying to catch some Crystalflies & how despite that Diluc had treated her with kindness, given her some juice & brought her back to Mondstadt. As a result of all of this Alice has decided to treat Diluc as one of her own kids, however they have never spoken in person. In return both Klee and Alice are welcome to stay at the Winery whenever.

This Event is so nostalgic, the first summer event aaaaah. How I would love ti experience it all over again xD. A year after that we visited those island again, altho they transformed them a bit. I kinda miss the Golden Apple Archipeligo 🥹 Also back then Kaeya seemed like just another 4Star, but his full Backstory is actually quite interesting. I cant wait for you to learn about it bit by bit!

Ah the nostalgia! Kaeya and Diluc are so funny and this whole event was so cute! Your reaction was so fun too, you're really progressing thought the Genshin story! Also thought it feels like slander I totally see why you would judge Kaeya as slacker because that's how he wants us to see him, but in reality he usually does the work and investigations on the background. This can be seen like in the Stormterror incident he admits to have been collecting information, how he has a spy nerwork in his own small quest and in the manga where he deals with the shady parts of the investigation in secret (I won't spoil that). It's like how Diluc says: "You can only trust half of what Kaeya says. " (I really like his character, there’s so much lore to him, I'm excited to see where Hoyo will take it) Amazing job! Keep it up, you're amazing!!٩(ˊᗜˋ )و❤❤❤

Kaeya is Diluc's adoptive brother Diluc tried to kill Kaeya when they were teenagers.Their interaction seems quite comical now, but in the past it was quite serious Klee is one of Razor's best friends, which is why he was called to the island. Lisa is almost his adoptive mother. She taught him many things and is his teacher, and even calls him her little puppy. She also takes care of Klee, which is how they met And speaking of which, Razor and Rosaria are basically adoptive siblings because they were raised by Varka, the master of the Knights of Favonius. Jean and Barbara are sisters, but their parents separated. Jean stayed with her mother and became a knight, and Barbara stayed with her father and became a nun. Their father appears in the webcomic

Reminder that they do these Genshin videos a month (4 weeks) in advance and their earliest videos are on Patreon. And they sometimes do these in parts so they edit together for a full KZbin video. And to reiterate, the reason I did that is because these two wanted to keep some sort of pacing, so they skipped some character quests if they felt like it. So I had to make sure there were 2 characters per main quest/event. The exception being Archon quests, since those are special in their own right.

Don't worry, we know after so many videos everyone forget where traveller was and where they were supposed to be travelling in real time.😅. Basically most of the events are side quests but some are connected and tells more story about the characters.
