for the record thor didn't even use his hammer for the first half of the boss fight thats how strong he is. he was holding his own against kratos who was at basically half power vs thor not even using more then 10-25% what really sealed his fate is if thor wanted to kill him he absolutely could have let him die, and not bring him back but he didn't because he wanted "more". he wanted to kill kratos but only after he was at full power blades and all.

i love kratos but he absolutely got his ass beat by thor and if it wasn't for thor being cocky it would have ended in whats called "a dead timeline loop". it is a point where no amount of reviving from the player can save the "mc/vessal" there are some games that do this concept really well, its a dead universe or au where no life exists because the villian won. or for villians its where the hero just cannot be overcome no matter how strong fast and bad ass you are. "call of the void" undertale au is one, "just shapes and beats" is another, there are more but i cannot name them all. TLDR: Thor 100% in another timeline/au absolutely killed kratos and left him dead.

While Thor was holding his own against kratos I’m not sure if Thor was using 10-25% of his power considering how strong kratos has been proven to be and the fact that Greek gods grow stronger the more they age, if we look at the feats that both kratos and Thor has done then it’s more reasonable to say that kratos was more or less at 20-35% and Thor 30-40% roughly the same level and while yes Thor didn’t use his hammer til half way into the boss Thor would have used his hammer earlier if kratos had his blades on him, so I believe story wise Thor just wanted to test out kratos before actually trying, and one more thing kratos is cursed to not be killed anyone, Hades wife Persephone cursed kratos with it by the end of chains of Olympus regardless if Thor wanted to or not fate has cursed kratos with not dying and if he were to die, I’m sure he would just climb out of hell again he done it like three times. For the record in the game kratos is canonically stronger than Thor, kratos died because he held back the moment kratos stops the moment Thor dies, but to prove my point of how strong kratos is relative to Thor we just need to look at the final battle, now you could argue that Thor was winded but the same could be said for kratos while yes they did not fight the same style of enemy (Thor fought jormungander) kratos did still have to fight tons possibly canonically hundreds of enemies compared to Thor, he also had to hold up a wall a lot bigger than he was ( not saying it would be a problem for him but it would take energy adding the fact that he would have to find somewhere to place it, destroy it, or push it back up which we don’t see) Now for the actual final fight between Thor and kratos it’s easy to see Thor is going 100% no doubt for kratos however, not so sure, it’s obvious he’s not going all out because that would include his rage to with he has to control it’s possible to say that kratos in the final battle is going 60-70%(possibly upwards of 85%) of his full power. So in conclusion…. God of war trilogy remake pls

Young Kratos would have been eliminated before he became a problem. Between Odin's craftiness, Thor's brute strength, Heimdall's precognition, and Baldur's invulnerability, the Aesir would have torn him apart, then scattered his remains throughout the Nine Realms to keep him from reforming. Heck, the Vanir might have even helped out, leading to true peace between the realms.

Also, Young Kratos with the Blade one taps most of these people, if he doesn't have it he loses since all of them are attacking him at once, but he'd still kill a couple of them first, and if he uses Hope, well it don't matter how many people they throw at him.

@@GodzillaGachaGPTNo it doesn't, it kills everything lol, Titans, humans, monsters, there is no reason to assume it wouldn't work against the Norse unless there is a reason to believe it wouldn't, in fact there is reason to believe it would work since the Blades of Chaos still work, and they are massively weaker than the Blade of Olympus. Also, Hope Negs, it's by far the strongest thing in GoW, Fear is the only thing close to it, and it was so much weaker than Hope it could do no damage to it and had to leave Zeus's body before it was destroyed along with him, that's the black smoke we see leave his mouth.

I would argue that even if Kratos was not holding back, Thor would still give him a run for his money. What people tend to forget is that the Jötunn in Norse mythology are on par with the Titans from Greek mythology. Seeing how Thor was strong enough to massacre a large number of them, he could definitely still give Kratos a hard fight.

We haven't really seen anything from the Giants that put them on par with the Titans, Surtur is stronger than all of them though. Also, it's worth noting that not only was Kratos holding back in this fight, most of his gear was destroyed too, I still think Thor would have put up a good fight though.

@@edwardarroyo884 Everyone always says Kratos is "holding back," but I really do not agree with this. All he is doing is staying calm. Anger can give you oomph, for sure, but not that much. Plus, I think young Kratos would've been obliterated by the Norse Gods, because he was reckless and impulsive, something the Aesir are good at capitalizing on. Young Kratos never would've made it past Baldur.

Also, do you even know who we are talking about, Kratos gets significantly stronger when he gets angry, it's literally his main power that has been with him in every game, the Devs themselves even said it's the main reason he wins, because he just keeps getting stronger as he gets angrier, he's similar to the Hulk. Young Kratos washes most of the Norse Gods, he has better weapons, magic, is faster, and is angrier, he wouldn't be holding back like Old Kratos, so most of them who had trouble with holding back Kratos lose handily. Odin is like the only one that puts up a fight since he has a lot of different kind of magics, but even then nothing as potent as what Young Kratos has. People hear the Older Kratos beating Young Kratos thing and it makes them think Older Kratos is way stronger when that's not the case, Old Kratos is only physically stronger and maybe slightly more durable and that's it. The reason Old Kratos wins is because he knows how his Young self fights and if Old Kratos is enraged he's roughly equal to GoW 3 Kratos. Young Kratos still has better magic and gear so it would be a hard fight either way that only ends when one of them is impaled by the Blade of Olympus.

His old self would beat Young Kratos, because he knows not to just go on a rampage and saves his Spartan Rage for moments when it will make the most impact, true. But that does not determine whether Young Kratos could beat the Aesir. Unlike the Olympian’s, who repeatedly underestimated him, the Aesir would hear him coming and prepare accordingly, especially since they know they can die.

They can't even beat Baldur with a curse, even though they can find the Mistletoe, Baldur still absorbs their power and use it against them. And Thor? Well, he'll use his hands more than his hammer and his lightning is more powerful than any of the archons. Heimdall? He can see their every movement and mocks then until they tire out. Odin? He is very intelligent and has battle intell, he sends crows or ravens to spy o their plans or just pretend to be one of them. So Norse Gods wins.
