It’s kinda sad, but the VA for Collei also suffers from a chronic illness, so she resonated a ton with the character. She tried to contain her excitement and knowledge about the character during her audition, but immediately geeked out and answered a question on voice direction for a line with knowledge of her behavior in the manga. She was overjoyed when she found out she got the part. Also, on a personal note, she’s one of the most wholesome adorable people ever.

10:00 Fun fact: When a voice line of a character talking about her (which is now already in the game) that basically said "Nilou offered me her face powder but in my line of work that would be wasted on me so i told her to give it to Candace instead…i wonder how she’s liking it" got leaked and translated to Portuguese the word "face" got left out so everyone thought Nilou and Candace were doing drugs lmao (Candace being the girl from the demo at 5:36 in case your memory is failing you)

Yea, Genshin is really really into making tragic and sad backstories, Collei was literally a human test subject and is terrified and has ptsd from other's touch. Nahida also has a sad story.

2:12 Yeah, Amber doesn’t have a demo, but she’s the first character unlocked in the game other than the Traveller. She’s the girl in red at the end of Eula’s demo, where you thought they were a couple (be grateful you said that about a ship most people agree on). She’s also Collei’s best friend from the Genshin Impact manga, and they recently reunited in the latest Windblume event.

Some random non spoiler facts: Most characters you just saw are from the newly released region in the game which is based on the middle east, hence the desert and forest themes. They are also known as the nation of wisdom, which is why a lot of the characters are academics. Tighnari's english voice actor has recently lost his job due to having allegations of misconduct with minors. They are planning to change all of his characters voice. Can't wait to see you guys finally dive into the story of the game. Nahida's storyline specially has really cool twists and turns :D

In terms of actual meta in-game teams I think Bethany is clearly ahead, especially since she grabbed both Alhaitham and Nahida who work great together and are the most broken characters of the new, most broken element xD

Definitely think Bethany got the better draft this time around talking ingame power, but Ken did get 2 of my favorite characters. Love Nilou and Tighnari. Nahida is a pretty major character. But more than that, she's one of the best characters (not just gameplay wise, but as a character in and of herself) to come out of this game. The quest involving her was one of the best the game ever did in my opinion. Check out "Nahida: Happy Birthday" if you want a little bit more teasers about her.

16:27 since u guys didnt play the game :D Many ppl like the wanderer. What you meant by inner darkness are correct. But to understand it i bre really brief with minimal potentinal spoiler. The wanderer was one of the highest member of the Fatui. after a series of event he wanted to change the past. So he literally went back time. And everybody frogot he worked with the fatui and did horrible things. Even if he changed the past he was not able to "delete" himself. So he became the wanderer. What u see in the trailer those dark moments are synonyms for his now frogotten and not existent deeds. what he remember even if the world did not. So he is pretty pissed with the fatui and he want to make his "old comrades" pay for what they did. and what they will do.

Candace may appear to be the "easy rider" of the E nation, but even Cyno and "Traveler/Wanderer" keep a wide berth around her. People have waiting on YaoYao for over three years; she literally on a Name Basis with most every known God and Adepti, you know, casual like. Beth definitely got the strength tier this time, including the boss of the last expension.

I did pull for and fail to get Alhaitham, but I have Keqing and I have Nahida, so it's okay for now. Collei's entire demo is basically a callback to Amber's in-game intro. Other than her and Tighnari (and Faruzan, I suppose) I have not done well getting Sumeru characters via gacha. My first extra pick would be Candace. Hydro would probably be my best natural element - if I had characters to build for it. Nothing wrong with Nilou - I'm not even prone to using the tactics that make keeping her alive a problem - but I'd rather start with a character who isn't going to require too much new muscle memory, and I've played both of them in their trials so know. Yuegui is an animated construct made for Yaoyao by Cloud Retainer, who is among other things a highly skilled artificer. It contains a tracker and an automatic distress beacon, which is why a child is freely roaming the wilderness of Liyue. (Klee has a similar if less conspicuous setup so her mother can watch her.) Yaoyao was among the first characters designed for the game, and the playerbase has waited over two years for her to turn up. (It took Sumeru and the Dendro element... and the devs just had work to clear out of the way first.) Anybody there for her release got an opportunity to get her without needing to rely on the gacha, which I took. Presently failing to get Cyno and Dehya, who I'll probably eventually get but who would be useful enough given my preferred playstyles to be worth the extra attempt. (She's not what most people expected her to be, or wanted her to be. I just happen to be in the minority neither surprised nor bothered.)

Alhaitham quickly became one of my main team characters after doing an Elemental Mastery build for him. He’s become one of my best damage dealers. His English voice actor has leaned into fans calling him “Dendro daddy” hahaha. Bethany has 3/4 of my current main team. Alhaitham, Yae Miko & Zhongli. I have Barbara added in for healing and to take advantage of Dendro capabilities.

Hmmm I think overall Bethany has the better draft, she's got some major powerhouses like Hu Tao, Ayaka, Zhongli, Kazuha, and Nahida. There are quite a few characters not listed that are really good like Xingqiu, Bennet, and my personal bias Noelle.

he fully admits to being essentially a drug dealer as use of drugs is allowed within the Academia (though certain ones are restricted to only specific branches of research). Also a lot of the Academics admit to being on cocaine in order to keep up with the rigors of the workloads they perform to get a competitive advantage to get on good research teams.

Nahida's story is so terrible and sad. Can't help but to be exactly what she is, and locked away because she is not what others wish her to be. It's incredibly soul crushing to know that everything you see in this video (except for the end) is her celebrating her birthday, in her dreams, whilst in reality being locked away simply for existing.

Its a completely different game. The Sumeru update far surpassed everyone's expectations. The story got better and everything is just more enjoyable in general

They've been improving a lot. After you dropped off, they introduced the concept of Archon Quest: Interlude Chapters, which are optional side stories that are all great so far. Character quests have been getting better, as well, especially the likes of Raiden Shogun's second quest, Nahida's quest, Alhaitham's quest, etc. They've taken feedback on exploration. They're now doing bigger, grander world quests that have bigger stories and unlock areas. And of course, the main story has also improved by a lot. Sumeru's main Archon Quest line is 5 Acts, and they are hours long. The writing and pacing is great. Just when you think you've hit filler, it turns out that it's important. The 3.0 trailer is like a movie trailer. If you wanna watch it, the update was called The Morn a Thousand Roses Brings. Though, they're still putting significant lore, development, and character interactions in limited events for some reason. While you were gone, they had an event for Inazuma's Irodori Festival where the event story ended up getting into a Fatui Harbinger's backstory and how it affected some of the playable characters' families.

Layla's design is based on Sirin, al-Haitham's is based on Su from _Honkai Impact 3rd_ . Nahida shares JP and CN voice actors with Theresa Apocalypse from the same game, although in all other ways they are different. Also, Candace and Nilou both seem to have red tattoos on their backs. This is similar to the stigma from _HI3_ , which show a compatibility with and resistance to Honkai energy. Stigma aren't always on the back, and in fact they only display that way for equipping them. Yae Sakura's stigma is on the base of her neck, and Raiden Ei in _Genshin_ has a similar mark, reflecting Sakura's and Mei's link in previous games. Mei's on stigma in _HI3_ is said to be on her thigh, while Seele Vollerei's is on her chest. So they can appear in other places. It has not been confirmed that Candace's and Nilou's marks are stigma, but they resemble them too closely to be easily dismissed.
