The reason why they zoom past the text in these trailers is to make you stop or re-watch the trailers to pay more attention. The way they make the most money is via these characters, so they really want you to pay attention and be invested as much as possible. Xiangling and Kaeya's trailers are mostly about showing off the world more than anything else. All the areas that are in Xiangling's trailer are in the Liyue region, which is to the south of Mondstadt. Following the roads is better if you want to discover places, but going off road has all sorts of secrets. 41:07 That is Beidou. Despite not having a trailer, she's a well-loved character in the game, for lots of good reasons. Aloy is the only crossover character they've done for Playstation promotion stuff. I really wish they did more crossovers.

@@letsbekoii If you want I can compile you a list of when you can watch things. In general the character demos do not have spoilers and are safe. For version trailers, I would say for maximum safety you can watch up until the 2.0 trailer AFTER completing Mondstadt and Liyue. After completing Inazuma, you can watch 2.0-3.0. After Sumeru, 4.0+. There are also character teasers which are different from demos. I'd say just avoid those. Lastly there are a few animated short videos (specfically, "A Winter's Nights Lazzo") that you should DEFINITELY avoid until you complete Inazuma.

Something you may or may not be interested to know: All the demos from Collei on (excluding Wanderer and Yao Yao) were characters from the region of Sumeru, which is the land of black women voice actors absolutely killing it. Candace, Layla, Nahida, Nilou, and the upcoming Dehya are all voiced by black women and they're all incredible.

Although we have no official explanation, it is theorized that Aloy was added into the game to get Sony to allow Genshin to have crossplay on their platforms. The most damning pieces of evidence being that Aloy has never been mentioned after her trailer and event, and that Sony hates crossplay for whatever stupid reason. They didn't want to do the collab, but they really wanted Genshin to have crossplay for their players.

* Fischl's dialogue contains some German and bits of old English. I suspect the demo just got published before Brittany Cox was fully on board (with Ben Pronsky for Ozvaldo) as Fischl's English voice actress (this was very early along, after all). The subtitles were perfect, though: imagine somebody who knows what she's saying, knows how it sounds, and is just enthusiastically into it. She's not the easiest person to run into, but she keeps turning up and there's one non-event point you're guaranteed to meet. * Xiangling (and the similarly named): For what it's worth, with the exception of the voicing of the place name of Liyue (which I can rationalize as most of the odd pronounciations are by foreigners who hypothetically have accents you don't hear normally - Xiangling's pronounciation is correct) everybody is correctly pronouncing their own and each other's names. You'll pick them up when you keep hearing them. Her "pet" Guoba is more interesting than he initially appears. (She did not get his companionship the same way Fischl got Oz's, and they're most likely different categories of being... but that's uncertain.) * Mona: You're not wrong, though she has the excuse of astrology being a very legitimate discipline in Teyvat (although the reasons why it works may be less so - incidentally, did you notice at the game's start that your character, not being from this world, had no listed astrological sign before touching that first Statue of the Seven and being assigned a placeholder?). Mona's a bit easier to get along with than Fischl (arguably, and it took two years to get those cats able to share a room peacefully). They're both pretty rooted in reality: it's that Fischl pretends not to be and Mona chooses to ignore it when it isn't that important. One other interesting theme this starts off: Hydro visions seem typically connected to an ambition to either reveal or hide some form of truth. * Venti: This oddity of the official playlists is stranger, because the version with Erika Harlacher as his English voice actress absolutely exists yet is almost never the one people see listed. * Klee: The Knights of Favonius work on the "AirBud" principle. The rules say a Knight has to be committed to the job and pass the trials. Adulthood isn't a requirement. That said, they're pretty sane about it. * Diona: Calico, yes, or possible tortoiseshell. You may have met her father already: if not, it's not hard to place him once you know Diona exists. Her age is unclear, although as she doesn't drink alcohol (and in fact, became a bartender with the stated intent of pranking every customer to order alcohol) it's probably irrelevant to her job. * Childe: Don't worry about pronouncing his name: you'll hear it before you need it, and his real name doesn't appear in the trailer anyway. "Tartaglia" is the name of a stock character from Italian commedia dell'arte, and both of those aliases tell you about as much regarding him. * Ganyu: I've realized - and this shouldn't be a spoiler - that every single person who's received traditional adeptus training has somehow learned how to survive entirely by grazing. Ganyu's a special case, of course, but even so. * Xiao: He's not young. It's easy to forget that Teyvat isn't quite working the way it originally did on an ecological scale, and that there are points in history when the world cracked and got more pasted than welded back together. He's been through a lot of the times the people in charge had to take what looked like the least bad option and survive with the consequences. * Hu Tao: Yup. She was very recently proven to still be in the game, despite some concerns over the last year she might have been quietly dropped. (This game's country of origin means it has to comply with some cultural priorities of the government.) Whether despite or because of her job, she's a lot of fun. (Ghosts, for reasons you may eventually learn, are conspicuously absent from Monstadt. Most other countries have them, and a few months ago real-world-time Inazuma - for reasons - held an official Test of Courage event, which is a lot like an outdoors haunted house. ...Stuff happened.) * Rosaria: Like Kaeya in the Knights, she serves a purpose in the Church. And she's more welcome there than she prefers to admit to. * Yanfei: The demo's a bit sparse here, but her release coincided with the release of a questline most players will be eager to start that has the hidden purpose of guaranteeing you meet her. The demo ends up being a brief demonstration of her playstyle the quest doesn't happen to give you, so it's easy to underestimate her based on it. And her combination of general age, race and profession gives her a unique position in Liyue. * Kazuha: As you've noticed, not every character gets a demo. The woman was Beidou, captain of the Crux fleet, and she simply isn't around during the initial storyline in Liyue, being a seagoer - in fact, a borderline pirate who tends to know precisely where to draw the lines to keep authorities merely unhappy or annoyed, and who has the sense to be as useful to them as practical otherwise. She's a decent enough person, though. * Ayaka Kamisato (Japanese system - the family names were coming first in the demos): An archetypical "yamato nadeshiko" - like the "Southern belle", considered the flower of aristocratic femininity in her home society. One of the first characters designed in the game. * Sayu: Like Fischl, far more competent that you initially expect somebody with that quirky a character to be. (Although even she can't sneak by Timmy's pigeons. I doubt anyone can.) * Yoimiya: The archer for players who hate archery. While possessing dedicated sniping skills, her playstyle is geared towards fairly close range relying on her autoattack chain rather than manual aim. The exact timing of her banners thus far has been unfortunate, however. * Sara Kujou: Arguably among the hardest cosplays to wear if you want to match the sandals, which are a style designed to be balanced on with the aid of wings. (Well, to evoke that idea, since they're a real thing.) * Raiden Shogun: The Overlord of the Thunderstorm, approximately. A great example of how a trailer can present you outright with information, hint at a lot more you don't have the references yet to understand, be accurate in every individual detail, yet mislead you about something very important you won't realize in time. Nice haiku at the end, too. * Kokomi: A subtle example of several details of ancient history, a significant if mostly off-camera character in the plot... and yet somehow the game still hasn't quite reached the stage where she can get roles to play away from home. Not sure if we're getting there or not: she's very hard to write for. * Thoma: You caught the important point at once. As you find out more about Inazuma in-game, it's worth keeping it in mind that Thoma... is where he is, living as he is, in the position he has. You'd almost have to know Ayaka's older brother before it all makes sense. * Gorou: Appropriately, while he has many strengths loyalty is the greatest. * Itto: Oblivious to most of the jokes around him, yet directly the butt of few. * Yun Jin: Many players' first exposure to Chinese opera, and the techniques built for singing in a language which is already tonal (changes in pitch change the word being spoken). * Yae: Yes. You cannot claim the world, and those she encounters, do not end up at least a little the better for her attention. But she knows the purpose of humanity is to entertain her. If you see her, or have any reason to think she's noticed where you are, you are somehow at that moment her toy. * Ayato Kamisato: You're never completely dressed without a smile. The reason his younger sister Ayaka only slightly overworks and can afford to be fairly clear-hearted and open (ignoring the constant demands of etiquette). And evidence Hydro isn't just about revelation. * Yelan: See above. * Shinobu: Why Itto's gang is still in business. She has the oddest background given her current work, though it ends up making sense. * Heizou: The one open detective I've met in Inazuma. (I swear, the detectives there tend to be such habitually shady people they somehow make the criminals look honest by comparison.) ...I'll skip the Sumeru characters. Too easy to spoil something. * Yaoyao: Another of the earliest designed characters, but we couldn't have a Dendro user until we had Dendro, and that required Sumeru. The devs were then too busy for a while to go back. And looking back, it's just as well we got Collei first. That was fun, though I wouldn't want to do it every day. Thanks.

8:07 She is based on a jiāngshī, also known as a Chinese hopping vampire, is a type of reanimated corpse in Chinese legends and folklore. The characters for "jiāngshī" are read goeng-si in Cantonese. They probably used zombi beacuse not many in tje west know what a jiāngshī is.

I don't want to overwhelm you with informations (you're probably already overwhelmed by now lol) but as someone said in other comment - every playable character in game have elemental powers and these powers are represented in physic form as a Vision. They are this glass ornaments with symbols of elements on them. You can see in game that every character has their Vision hanging somewhere on their clothes! Also, you asked about any related characters. As for now, the only true sibling (by blood) is the Kamisato sibling - Ayato and Ayaka but we have also a few of step-siblings. For example Diluc and Keaya, they're not related but Diluc's father took Keaya in when he was a kid so they grew up together. Same with Albedo and Klee. Albedo is often taking care of Klee and is basically her older brother. There are also some connections between Raiden Shogun and Wanderer but this is spoiler territorry so I won't go any further. I hope that you'll enjoy the game and I'm looking forward to the future content!

Also I recommend watching Characters teasers to understand them more as a person, and collected miscellany to understand them in battle (with a little sprinkle of lore). Versions trailers could be spoilery to the story so it's your choice to react to them.

Also, something else you might know by now, but just in case you don't: Every playable character has elemental abilities. It's just that some characters' abilities don't quite look elemental, so I can understand the confusion. Also, a tip for telling what element each character is: Look at the color of their elemental energy while they're attacking. Pyro (fire)- Red/orange Hydro (water)- Blue Cryo (ice)- Light blue/White Geo (earth)- Golden yellow Dendro (plants)- Green Anemo (wind)- Teal Electro (lightning)- Purple

Aloy is a very fun free 5 star character. She also had a free 4 star bow(sadly only available for playstation players). Her release was back in September 2021 available for all new players. Unfortunately in the in-game mail she was only available for 365 days prior to her release. Ended last year 2022. Mihoyo/Hoyoverse kind of forgot her 😭😭 I really wish she'd have a banner soon

Random Estimated Age Facts (kinda? Spoilers): Zhongli is the oldest character so far with an age over 6,000. Ganyu in second place with over 3,000 and Venti is in third with over 2,600. Xaio is close though being over 2,000. Everyone else is either under or right around 500. But a lot of the genshin community (including me) believes that "us" or "the traveler" and their/our twin are the oldest because, as it's revealed in the games opening scene, the twins are Outlanders and have travelled to many worlds before getting trapped in Teyvat (genshin world). (Also genshin lore fans please correct me if something's wrong)

I simply find way more emotions in these, especially after i started speaking the language i cannot go ever back hah Especially for characters like Yoimiya and Yae (who i won't hide are my favourites) who do have original speak pattern and dialect which ads way more to the character too. As i said it was pleasure to watch the video and i'm sure stick for more :)

@letsbekoii It does! Yu-Peng Chen is known for his genius compositions. Gacha game or not, the amount of details they put into the music is amazing. Each region has its own unique charm. You've only got to hear the demo ones. If you hear the Boss Battle songs, you will literally fall off your chair!

So basically, every region is based off of an area that exists in real life. Mondstadt is based off of Germany, Liyue is based off of China, Inazuma is based off of Japan, Sumeru takes inspiration from many different cultures from around the middle east, Fontaine will be based off of France, Natlan will be based off of Native America and Snezhnaya is based off of Russia.

Genshin has really improved on their character demos. The earliest ones lacked cool effects and never really stood out to me at all (Besides Klee’s, that one is still one of my favorites). It’s really interesting to see just how much they’ve improved upon, both in the actual game as well as the trailers. I highly recommend at least trying to game out because the story is so well thought out and every character has something interesting about them. The story gets better as it progresses so it may not seem like much in the beginning but it really gets interesting as it goes on!

Funnily enough, Mondstadt isn't based off the US It's based off Germany! (And possibly Sweden, Scotland, Ireland and Switzerland) Each nation is based off one or many irl countries and have cultures based off cultures from real life as well Liyue is China Inazuma is Japan Sumeru is South Asia, the Middle east, and Egypt! The final nations aren't released yet, but Fontaine - the next nation to be released - is supposedly based off France or Britain possibly during the Victorian Era There's another place related to Inazuma's Watatsumi Island that's based off Greece, but for the sake of spoilers I won't say what that is specifically So what Thoma meant when he mentioned etiquette was that customs in Mondstadt are far different from Inazuma, and him having grown up in Mond means he isn't used to Inazuma's customs is all

Someone else already said that Albedo and Klee are siblings, but i do wanna expand on that because they're adopted siblings, not by blood, hence the different ear shapes. Klee's mum took in Albedo a few years before the game starts, after his master (an old friend of Klee's mother Alice) sent him over to live with her. Albedo himself is an introvert who'd rather be in the lab than anywhere else, but Alice's eccentric family (i.e Klee) always manages to pull him out whether he likes it or not. :)

Barbara and Jean are Sisters. Ayato and Ayaka are Brother and Sister. Miko is Raidens Familiar (which is essentially sharing a soul, you could argue theyre even closer than actual family) Diluc and Kayea are brothers. In a way I guess you could call Ganyu and Xioa step-siblings. Klee is the daughter of Alice, a world renowed mage, shes not a playable character yet but she probably will be. I assume all the gods could be considered family, they at the very least share family-like bonds These are the ones I can think of at the moment, Im sure there are more.
