Welcome to Arlecchino! She is a Harbinger aka The Knave. Giving as few spoilers as I can, but honestly a lot of this is lore that you won't hear in the main quests. The House of the Hearth is an orphanage that trains orphans to operate as a Fatui intelligence network. It is run by The Knave. The woman with pink hair, "Mother", is the previous Knave and this short is to show how Arlecchino became the new Knave. "Mother" would act as a kind and warm mother figure to entrap orphans and fool outsiders, but she was actually a very cold-hearted and ruthless woman. Many kids who entered the House of the Hearth perished under her as she would make the children fight to the death in order to find a "King" or a successor of sorts. The little girl with pink hair, Clervie, was this woman's biological daughter. In the Chinese/Japanese version they use terms that can be translated to biological/birth mother. To answer Bethany's question about the syringes and blood, the line "do mothers always argue with their daughters?"... well "argue" is being gentle here. The correct wording would be "fight" or more appropriately "beat". So little Arlecchino is actually cleaning up Clerive after having a "confrontation" with her mom. (The syringes are for something more sinister about "Mother", but that's a spoiler) The term "Father" - after becoming the new Knave and taking over The House of the Hearth, Arlecchino took the name "Father", as she didn't want to raise orphans the same way the previous "Mother" did. (Basically she's the 'opposite'. Arlecchino acts cold and heartless on the outside, but seems to have a very soft heart for the kids she raises) Hope this answers some questions! So yes she does do Fatui things that might be good or bad, she doesnt do them because she's evil. The only people who see her "Crazy" side is monsters like from the trailer.

The only ones that don't like her are in fact...other harbingers. To be fair Childe is more or less misinformed and just really naive but the fact a guy that will betray "allies" for the fatuis goals saying she would betray anyone for her own ends is basically pot calling the kettle black and I got to admit, daddy has a a goal worth fighting for and openly admits she will turn against her allies if it means protecting it and that is beyond admirable. Even says she will raise a blade against the Tsaritsa in person without any trickery because even she believes the Cryo Archon is as noble and kind as many say to earn that respect. Dottore gonna have to start keeping bells on his alt accounts though if the day comes.

Keeping it spoiler free: The thing with Arlecchino's curse is if you notice when "Mother" mentions it you see her fingers turn black (she doesn't wear gloves) and later on during their fight the curse progress up almost to her elbow showing that her entire forearm is black. Also you may notice differennce in the color of her flames compared to other pyro users who have orange flames but not the blood red flames she has even though we also see her with orange flames keep that in mind as well.

@@Ak-Ra well basically she's a descendant of the Crimson Moon Dynasty of Khan'riah and her blood red flames are cause by said curse and are as Balemoon Bloodfire basically they are flames that course through her veins and it's believe the black on her are basically burns

So some spoiler free stuff. Here you saw the backstory for a character named Arlecchino (AKA The Knave), one of the Fatui Harbingers (as shown in the ending of the animation). 1) Arlecchino's, and overall the one who has the title of the Knave has the job of running an orphanage named The House of the Hearth. This orphanage is in fact there to train child soldiers for the Fatui (if you see a non-harbinger from the Fatui, more times than not they came from here). 2) Why Arle calls herself "Father" instead of "Mother" is given more reasoning in game so I won't go in depth on that until you get there. 3) The pink haired girl was the biological daughter of "Mother". Everyone else was an orphan. Also, "Mother's" name was Crucabena, the previous Knave and Harbinger before Arle killed her and took her position. 4) We still don't know what a "King" is meant to entail as of this point in the story, but once you get to the part of the game where Arle comes in, you can start making some guesses.

The little girl had so much bandages and injuries because... Her mother is abusive (basically the mother of the orphanage that got killed at the end, but she's her biological one as well). Her saying "do mothers usually argue with rheir daughter" is a bit of a euphemism, she meants beating, or fighting

3:07 Im pretty sure she offed herself rather than fight Arle. The shot right before is kind of a common way to depict that in anime and manga without fully showing it, and we dont see her hands so she is likely holding the sword hilt. Also Arle's stance is dosent look like someone who just was in a fight and the shock on her face too, you can still see Arle holding a blade after her friend falls

Here are some facts: Her power is called Balemoon Bloodfire or simply Bloodfire. How F ing badass is that?? The "Mother's" name is Crucabena a Gallic equivalent of the Welsh enchantress Ceridwen Peruere is Arlecchino's real name prior to joining the Harbinger. 9:05 Yes Clervie (pink haired girl) is Crucabena's biological kid others were adopted.

Look... the video ITSELF is a big spoiler for Arlecchino's story, so I will just go and tell you this: the more information you have about the video, the more spoilers you will have. You didn't understand much about the video? AWESOME. Try and forget as much as you can and come back to the video after you finish her story quest XD There are only two things I can tell that are not quite spoilers because they were revealed out of the game and in minor quests, so they are things that the writers kind of assumed you already knew when you met her in the Archon Quest and they were never A THING. 1) She's the 4th Fatui Harbinger, also known as The Knave. 2) She's the owner of an orphanage called House of the Hearth, that raises children to become Fatui. This is all you know before her first appearance in the game. My advice: don't go ANYWHERE beyond these three facts. The video was released before Arlecchino's story quest by a few days, but watching it before playing her story gives away some BIG plot points. In addition to that, the fact that you don't know much about Arlecchino impacts the reception of Fontaine's archon quest as well, so really... the less you know, the better.

3:13 A theory of mine: When Peruere and Clervie fought in this scene Clervie ran into Peruere’s blade, this would explain why Peruere seemed shocked, it would explain Clervie saying "im sorry," and it would explain how they are standing and the blade’s position, since the way Perueru is standing and holding her blade, that moment doesn’t look like she just charged at someone and pierced them, but it all does look like Peruere was distracted and Clervie charged at her with the intent of being pierced by Peruere’s blade. And as to why Clervie would do this, i suspect it’s because she just didn’t want to feel the pain of fighting her best friend, and she also didn’t want to make Peruere go through the awful experience of having to kill her friend willfully.

Arlecchino is probably my favorite character and considering a certain brat had his character quest be tied into necessity of continuing the story im shocked hers isnt because it goes through a lot of detail and sets up an example of how story wise you may think you were something by that point, but probably some of the coolest and hardest implocations set up how not ready at all players are for the upcoming story. I know there arent a lot of bars set in the story but she might well be the best parent in Genshin and the character teaser and demo help show how beutifully morally gray she is. That and some of her animations have basically made her the combination of Vergil and Sephiroth into a single character and the damage output supports my statement on this. Anything made of or touching water may as well be a hydrogen bomb waiting to happen which isnt great for anything that decides to attack me in Fontaine.

Others explained it, so I’ll just say you’ve already seen her when you watched “Winter Night’s Lazzo” and the group she’s a part of. So you should already have an inkling as to how big of an influence they’ll have on the story. Also, I'm gonna assume you missed the first opening line said by the mother when the video started, which pretty much answers all of your questions as to why that girl stabbed the other girl: "You were born into this world all alone. But here in the House of the Hearth, you will grow up to be strong. Your goal is to learn, to compete, to defeat all your brothers and sisters in battle and become King." With the visuals being cute plush bunnies showing how they have to be ruthless warriors to survive. And the ending shot with the black & white bunny literally sitting on top of the corpses of their brothers and sisters. Pretty obvious what that is supposed to mean.

So when the girl asks if mothers usually argue with their daughters, there's a couple details that became vague due to translation. For one, when she said "argue" she was talking about a physical fight hence the bandages, and two, that was her biological daughter. You learn more in the story later so I won't spoil you, but these details are there in this video just weren't clear in the English version.

It's not shown here but she's crazy powerful both in lore and gameplay. She reminds me Zhongli in the few bits of story on his past. Just with how imposing she can be. Her story chapter is one y'all will need to check out down the line. I kinda skipped through it personally just because I wanted to fight her so bad. However I I'd slow down for her stuff.

A caveat about Arle style wise is that there's this yellow light scythe thing that gets added to any non-signature weapon that makes it harder to visually match weapons with her. If you're free to play and all you need from her is content clearing she's strong enough without signature or constellations. Also no source of healing will restore her health in battle except her own self healing so don't waste resources desperately feeding her Turkey in combat.

Ok so im going to give an explanation on some things but not this story because it will be shown in the future. Arlecchino powers is a bit different from other pyro user. The curse that she has makes her pyro stronger. Her curse spreads when she feels emotion(like at the spider funeral and when she faced her mother). She is the descendants of an ancient civilization from wich she got her curse. Wont say for now much about this civilization but just know that when you two will do the second dainsleaf quest you will learn of something pretty important,thats what Arlecchino is connected too so remember this.

And they're not really the type of people to look back on previous videos to refresh themselves on lore. Much less a previous comment. They'll ask the comment section anyways on questions they'll have. Example: When they did their 2nd video on their Genshin journey, once the plot revealed the MC's sibling is with the enemy, they had no reaction to it, meaning they forgot that's what the sibling looked like.

But she put her in the orphanage with the other kids to show that she didn't have any bias between her biological child and the kids in the orphanage. (I think that's how it was. Also idk if I spelled her name right.)
