Of all the things I expected I didn't expect it to go dark out of left field and mention something as fucked up as sexual assault and child trafficking as a background detail in the main story in act 1 of all places where it was just beginning. On top of that with how much Genshin has loved playing it safe I really expected them to pull a reverse uno and bring back all the dissolved people at the end but they actually stuck to it and left them dead.

The last like quarter of 4.2 is so much of an ass pull, and like all of 4.1 is pretty much filler literally what are you talking about? No where near as bad as Inazuma tbh i dont think anything will ever be that bad unless they rush it again but Sumeru is still better except act 1 that shit gave me a migraine

11:08 You’rere right about here its similar to genshin, back in the day of the story and lore of genshin about 2000 years ago there was a bunch of different gods lived in peace but then the archon war broke out. In this war there are 7 seats for seven strongest gods that would take those seats and essentially be the strongest gods which are the 7 archon I believe you already may know them Furina, Nahida, Ei raiden and etc. (so in general archon war was the war of the gods trying to take a place of the 7 archons)

Important to note for Nahida's teaser : On each character's birthday, Genshin releases a short video congratulating them, Nahida's teaser, is her birthday video, it was released 'on' her birthday.

About Neuvillette. Contrary to the former belief based on from his appearance (cold, stoic, and strict), Neuvillette is really one of the most (IF NOT), the most gentle, kind, and most polite character in Genshin Impact. (he got a hold of my heart) He is the judge if the justice system in the region of Fontaine, so he definitely see a lot of the bad from humans. But even then, he remains distant from other because he doesn't want to cloud his judgement, if the time ever comes when he has to judge them.... He's such a great character; personally, lore, story. He's amazing, and is very loved my most of the fan base (even ones who don't like him, they acknowledge that he's still a well written character) But anyways, this is all I'll say about him. He's not my favorite (Tartaglia is) but he's up there for the favorites.

9:29 the blood thing was a different character. They said that and the “is this what justice means to you” line was a separate line from them. You could probable assume they sought vengeance through blood and in think it was justified asks the judge (Neuvillette) if his judgment of the man is just. Gods can die, ignoring the war of gods, I’m pretty sure Venti and Zhongli are the only originals left of the main 7. The others had their divinity passed on to others close to them. Sisters, tree clones, etc. And technically there are two types of gods, the gods you see and the “Heavenly Principles”

4.0-4.2, fontaine story, is basically a whole reference to a lot of things in the bible. Noah's arc, original sin (Adam and Eve), 7 cardinal sins, (Pneuma, Ousia and Arkhe which = ancient Greek themes), Homoousion, probably jesus christ too, and so on. And actually, the 7 archons alternate names, Barbatos, morax, Beelzebub, Baal, etc, are named after "ars goetia, so thats pretty cool. - Archon is the Greek word that means ruler in ancient Athens, and they're technically a pseudo-God in Genshin because the real "Gods" are in Heaven called Celestia; they're still called a "God" in the game so you can technically call them by both titles because while the Archon rule over humans, the actually Gods in the sky rule over the world. - Heavenly principles are the Gods who oversee the world of Teyvat, are above the archons, and they reside in a floating island that nobody can get to. To avoid confusion, Genshin story is based on Gnosticism/Syzygy, demiurge/Judaism, christianity, greek, and norse mythology for the major lore and the world creation of the game. So I really like that you guys brought up the gods in God of war because Genshin's "heavenly principles", tho not Archons, are potentially characters from Olympus in Greek mythology, or are acting like one. And just like the Greek gods, they like to hand out harsh punishments on small things. Just for an example, before the game, because the 8th nation was made out of nowhere and without an archon... Celestia controlled the 7 archons to destroy the 8th nation, khaenri'ah, only because it was a nation that has no god/archon and was built by people alone from their hard work. This nation had already gone extinct before the current game and the people were turned into ageless monsters and they're... ofc, an enemy in the game lol.

What's interesting about the ruling gods (the Archons) is that they all have secondary names which are demons, most of the from The Lesser Key of Solomon. Venti (Anemo Archon) is Barbatos, Zhongli (Geo Archon) is Morax, Ei/Raiden Shogun (Electro Archon) is Beelzebul, Makoto (Ei's passed twin and previous Electro Archon) was Baal, Nahida (Dendro Archon) is Buer, and Furina (Hydro Archon) is Focalors. We also can't forget our mysterious traveling companion who's name is simply "Paimon".

Fontain story definitely hit the feels 10/10 But as we've probably all forgotten cause it been years now but when gods die they explode, there was a goddess in liyue arc that answered the dead god question when she died she exploded taking out her entire paradise kingdom during the war of the gods😢it was a pretty tragic tale.

To play every single quest and explore every location is probably too much but I feel like you could catch up to version 4.2 fairly easily if you just focused on the main quests from each region. The final act of Fontaine story (4.2 trailer) made me cry. And thats coming from a person who never cried for real because of the games before. I did feel sad, a lone tear here and there sometimes. But never ever before the game made me cry as hard, as I did during Act 5. Hoyoverse did a fantastic job with Fontaine, if they will go even higher with next regions with story quality, this game will stay as one of the best for me for a long time.

If I might make a recommendation, The recently released a story trailer for Furina called "La Vageulette." It's actually really good because they brought forth a French singer to sing a beautiful operatic style theme song. A bunch of Chinese singers that have sung other pieces for Mihoyo were also asked to sing it too and their French pronunciation was spot on and beautiful. Yun Jin sings a Chinese song performed by an actual Chinese opera singer. Now we have Furina singing a French song from Fontaine by an actual French opera singer. This game and company are pulling all the emotional heartstrings for fans and players of the game.

Actually that’s not true. Something bad does happen when a god dies. From what I understand when a god dies energy is released, basically poisoning the land and causing great disasters. For example: when the god of salt died, an entire village around her was turned into salt. Also gods can’t truly die so a malevolent god’s will will still torment the land.

If one of the seven gods are kill a new one will be born of the type that was killed. Example of this is if the wind god is kill, after some time a new one will be born to replace the dead one. Edit: I forgot to add if the divine throne of that the archon sit on this destroyed too, no new archon of that element will ever be born.

Even if a god is weak, they are still gods. When a got is killed or dies, their divine essence is left over and it can does major to the area they died, if is it not contained. We see this during a quest in the ancient ruins where Havria, the God of Salt is killed by her people, and we see that her divinity basically exploded and turn her people and the ruins into salt... Basically, it's really destructive to kill a god, and actually has consequences--big or small

they did a good job hiding the plot. its just enough to tease. with regard to the gods, yes in the genshin world there used to be alot of gods in the past, but the god "population" kinda stabilized around 500 years ago, so to the people living in this world, they are kinda used to their god always "being there" since it has not change for like 20 generation of humanity... so from our "human scale" of time, we would see god as immortal beings, but from the gods pov, they experienced the passing of god, their scale of event is just beyond human comprehension. its a rather interesting dynamic because of how differently they would see the world.

To give out a spoiler-free-esque idea: 4.2 is not really centered about killing a god but rather masquerading something. As the trailer have mentioned, there's deception involved and it's pretty much a very important event in the game's story and, should I say, history. I can't wait for the both of you to experience the stories first hand since I'm pretty sure you'll love Genshin's story. These trailers are a bit misleading at time but for 4.2, it's literally perfect since they didn't have to mislead, they simply hid the magnificence of the story itself reaaally well in the trailer.

Spoilers to anyone who hasn't done Zhong Li story quest, you have been warned: Long story short, in the days of Archon War, there was one gentle, but weak god, Havria, the God of Salt, was betrayed by her people she sworn to protect because her people concluded she was too weak to protect them, and decided to end her in their sick, twisted perceived kindness. But killing a god isn't as simple as killing another living being. A god, no matter how weak, is still a god, and the ensuing energy blast from a god's death prove catastrophic in the vicinity. The shockwave basically turned everyone into salt, killing them all but scant few who managed to escape the blast radius. When we entered the special domain for the quest, we can see various humanoid sculpture made from salt from the entrance all the way to the ground zero. The story is pretty sad, the ending left a bittersweet taste, and gave us an insight into how horrible the Archon War was.

so archons aren't all powerful gods there more like bureaucratic gods of there respective element and region there are the heavenly principles and the descenderes are more likely the rulers of teivat and celestial before them there were the sovereigntys aka the original dragons so think of it like dark souls story but more cheerful and colourful , and more demented .
