I think the qualities of the Furina and Fontaine story will include the cyclical ebb and flow of character and fortune. Maybe Fontaine has a cycle of the people being absorbed into the rising tide of water, then emerging from the falling tide of water.

My suggestion for the part where a lot of voices superimpose with each other is to turn the subtitles on. All the voices are subbed with some in parenthesis to allow us to understand the different dialogues.
