nay, mainly because in order to enjoy the mode im gonna need to build more characters, and building characters is SUCH a slog, and you get basically little to no resources so you have to hyperfixate on one unit as opposed to maybe spreading them out to at least 3. it makes it a pain to pull and it's part of the reason I've just stopped pulling for new characters and started getting cons for furina instead.

Pretty awful game mode imo. Team building is completely scuffed due to random additions to roster. Content is scaled down to be laughably easy in order to accommodate the limited roster and scuffed teams, which in turn makes the combat dull and unengaging. Playing off-meta teams due to elemental restrictions could've been interesting had boons given massive buffs to empower teams that would otherwise struggle to perform and content could've been scaled to match, but that's not what we got with imaginarium. Only redeeming qualities atm are the aesthetics and character dialogue between acts. Only a few voice lines for each character, but it's something at least. Definitely a nay for me.

This 100%!! I wanted to save up vigor because some DPS units are already self-sufficient like Arle, but was surprised it won't let me play without a full party. I just end up putting some excess unbuilt DPS in place like Diluc.

Have the main cast well built the way it is now and then some more 4* trial characters that are only lvl 70 with only 4* artifacts or something so that they are weak enough to motivate you to get your own ones in the future but decent enough to even start the mode in the first place ;)

If you want us to build more characters, provide the tools to do so. Remove some of the barriers and limitations of grinding. Give more resin and/or reduce resin cost for bosses, domains, and ley lines. There are so many characters now, the severe time gates and limitations are not as needed.

I'd like for them to allow Boss, Ley Line or Domain material drops even without resin. Just lower the maximum drops players can receive once their resin hits zero. That way players can still farm, it'll encourage more encounters against all the boss monsters, and it'll encourage more playtime.

For me, as a F2P player (for 3 months), is literally hell. This event is non-friendly for F2P players and needs many characters, exp, and materials. If you run out of or don't have all these things, you are 100% unplayable. In the next month, the elements change to other elements, If you don't have any characters (Geo, Dendro, Cryo,...), you can't play any mode (Expect easy mode)

@@thangnguyen8310 Thankfully, I've been levelling my characters for Geo, Dendro and Cryo for fun, and now I finally have a good reason to use them. However, I still see myself building everyone just to be safe. I might even need to build Candance. As an Albedo main and loving Tighnari and reaching level 70 with him, I see this as an absolute win. I've been saving for Level 90 albedo and he's at 888, 90, hopefully imaginarum theatre will let me use Albedo more, and I've already mid built Ningguang/Noelle, so now I just need to build Gorou or Yunjin.

It's actually not that bad tbh I'm an F2P too, and while I'm a 1.0 player with plenty of built characters, I tried doing the event with no artifacts just to make it challenging, and the trial characters are actually strong enough to get you through the whole 8 stages What you need to do is just save your trial characters and sacrifice the vigor of your unbuilt characters

a big problem is that it replaces an entire abyss reset (so you get roughly the same rewards) so people who cannot complete it are losing out on quite alot of primo that they would’ve had. you need primos to pull characters- we already don’t get many. so now theyre taking a decent chunk away from players, leaving them with less than before. and you need more primos to pull for more characters so that you can actually do Imaginarium theater ☠️ they did not cook as usual

Very nice video. Easily the worst part of Imaginarium Theater is the insane barrier of entry (the character amount requirement). I agree it feels worse because we’ve been conditioned to not need horizontal investment for so long & being held back by the resin system does not leave a good impression. It’s a shame cause the gameplay itself is kinda fun.

I didn't have any expectations for it, and I was still disappointed. The issues I've identified thus far are: 1. The elemental restrictions force you to play teams that you're not used to with characters that aren't built for those types of teams, which results in an uncomfortable experience. 2. The vigor system is too limiting. I would've made it 2 vigor for 5-stars and 3 vigor for 4-stars. 3. The time restrictions for a lot of stages are unreasonable. Most stages felt like the 12th floor of the Abyss with how long enemies were taking to go down. You'd think they'd give some leniency to compensate for the awkward teams you can get railroaded into running. 4. Despite so many characters being available in the game at this point, they still don't have enough variety in roles to give you flexibility in team-building. For example, we still don't have any electro shielders aside from Beidou and her shield is locked behind her burst (and a constellation). 5. They expect me to shift around my artifacts, and I simply refuse to do that. The artifact menu has always been too much of a mess to deal with, and I, for one, am not changing my burgeon Thoma build to a shield build just to be stuck having to find his old set after the fact. They have the ability to save your characters' gear for your whole run of Imaginarium, even after you change it outside of there, but they somehow can't figure out how to let us save our loadouts? Not buying it. 6. Building a single character takes forever. Talent books alone take several weeks, and artifacts can take months depending on the build. And they expect you to have 6 characters per element (on average) built for this?! 7. Being forced to make a party of 4 each time can potentially lock you out of later stages if you don't unlock enough of your alternate characters. 8. They only let you borrow 1 character from friends, which I wouldn't have a problem with if they didn't sell it in the 4.7 livestream as "Don't worry! If you don't have enough characters built, you can borrow from friends!", acting like it would make such a huge difference when you can go through a whole run without ever seeing that character if RNG doesn't favor you. I think the limit should be increased to 3 total characters, one per friend. 9. Retries! I suppose you could retry over and over again until you clear, but I have better things to do with my time. The fact that there isn't a "quick retry" that allows you to skip the team-building screen if you want to re-use the same team can also be aggravating. 10. Stage effects! These were really unnecessary! Especially the one I encountered in stage 7 where your whole team starts losing HP until they're dead if you take too long. 11. The interface had me confused for a while. Like all of their tutorials, explaining things clearly is still an area of weakness for the devs. 12. A lot of the options for buffs seemed limited to a select few characters, which doesn't help much when they run out of vigor. Overall, it's excessive. Between elemental restrictions, requiring a dozen characters to even start the run, forcing a party of 4, strict time limits, stage hazards, and enemies with inflated HP... Calm down, Hoyoverse! Pick 3 of these, not all of them at once! As for me, I'm going to treat it like the Abyss. I'll do the stages that I can do comfortably and skip whatever looks like it'll take more than 30 minutes of my time. Between Imaginarium and the Abyss, you can get a maximum of 106.5 wishes over the course of a year, so if you're feeling the urge to pull more than one 5-star per year solely for this game mode (because you feel like you need them even though you don't like them), you'd actually be better off ignoring these and just doing events/dailies while playing the characters you actually like.

Fully agree with #3. With an ideal team these limits are easy to deal with, but with a sub-par team you're not used to playing, you are on the razor's edge of failure on the later stages. What I expected to take an hour to finish extended to three because of all of the retries I was forced to make. I very nearly gave up on clearing stage six on normal.

@@Lennis01 I was able to clear hard mode after having to retry a few stages, but it didn't even feel satisfying in the end because of the awkward teams. I feel bad for people who are having trouble with even the lower difficulties. One friend in particular has been working so hard and has learned so much about the game in the past few months, only to be slapped in the face by the elemental restrictions. I blame it entirely on bad design, but in the end, I think it's important to maintain perspective as a player and remember that the rewards are not worth the time, money, and frustration (hence my last paragraph above). There are plenty of better options for your time and effort, and if you're looking for a new game, the Steam Summer Sale is currently running until next week.

@@felipevillanueva6171 YOU try clearing stage six with Clorinde, Wanderer, Electro Traveler, and Faruzan. It can be done, but not without pain. It also didn't help that I don't have Clorinde and Wanderer on my account, and haven't yet built Faruzan. Skill takes practice, and most players don't bother practicing with characters they're not ready to build. Team practice is also essential. An otherwise capable team will look like trash if you don't learn their optimal rotation, given such strict time limitations.

my biggest issue now is that I am forced to use 18 characters, but I have only 13 total available. Additionally, I have to use all 4 slots, which consequentially leads to having 18 characters at level 70

- Cant even attempt hard mode if you dont have 12-18 characters build level 70+ of specific elements -you can only use a character 2 times -you have to play full team (4 character) -character you get in different stage are random, so no team building This mode is just so bad it's beyond imagination

The real issue here is the resine, for the new end game content you will need to have many if not all you characters leveled up and build up but how are you gonna do it when you only have 200 resine with an almost 27 hours cooldown! (26 hours 37 minutes) and you need to invest in ascension materials, talents, weapons, accessories, tons of gold, etc. See? The real issue is the resine, too little to build up soo many characters.

New players shouldn't be able to finish end game content easily. It's the whole point of end game content, you need to reach end game first. "Veteran players" should be able to gather enough resource over the course of the last 4 years to level up at least 50 characters Not sure how the game mode will move forward, but as of now it's too easy compared to the Spiral Abyss.

I don't know how you got these point of views, but I've seen that from CN perspective. From a non casual player point of view, the game mode is very bad for other reasons, being: - you can't play real teams - even playing scuffed teams (such as Arlecchino, Clorinde, Wanderer, Kuki), you're fine to clear a stage - the cost of 80 to get characters is always more powerful then 60 for buffs - buffs are horrible, because if you used 2 Vigors for Arle, and then you get "Pyro normal attack buff" it's completely useless that was the endgame side of it, and honestly, clearing is funny, but any challenging at all For casual players and early game players, the game mode's restriction is gonna drive people mad. But the issue is more because the mod suffers from RNG, and also because Genshin has released almost DPS's only for years. Hence, we're locked with a few good supports to use. If you are early, you probably only have Bennett, Xiangling, Fischl... So w/o Beidou, Sara, Chevreuse, Kazuha, Venti, Xianyun, yes, it feels just harsh

If you build a "tall" account, you'll do well in the Abyss, but poorly in the Imaginarium Theater. If you build a "wide" account, you'll do well in the IT, but get stomped in the Abyss. Players lose either way. The only accounts that benefit are the whales, or the ones who have been playing for years. The anger is understandable.

Dude, building a tall and wide account with F2P resources is possible, you just need to be strategic in pulling for: DPS of every single element Sub DPS/support of every single element This has always been the rule in Gacha gaming

@@skybattler2624 You also need a lot of time and luck, depending on who Hoyo decides to put on a banner. Accounts less than a year old hoping to build a great cryo team literally can't because the best cryo support (Shenhe) hasn't gotten a rerun in ages. There's also the issue of resin, which has a direct impact on the number of characters you can equip and build. Because of how the progression system works, as well as the Abyss, I don't build individual characters, I build TEAMS. Unless I have the resources to build a new team to the same level as my established teams (currently at 70), those characters stay on the bench.

@@Lennis01 this exact idea actually became a reason why Imaginarium Theater has to exists. I play cryo teams and deliberately chose to skip Shenhe as I personally did not like the idea of a 5* Cryo buffer as a sacrifice of a CC or healer (hence why I prefer Charlotte when she soon got realized, as she compresses the role even if the buff isn't the same), and have fully dedicated my Cryo teams as an AOE destroyer for Abyss, although I do have plans for Shenhe pulls in the future. Resin issue isn't an issue if you plan ahead. All I did is just have a daily plan of 1 boss drop of a target character, and either the rest into one target character talent mats, or into artifact farming. Sunday is ALWAYS for weapons (as it is the easiest to farm), and in 2 months, I have 12 characters built with a decent Stat Value (not Crit Value, Crit Value is just a noob trap because it focuses only on 2 stats out of at least 4 that are useful), and decided to build even bad characters knowing how Gacha games work (they always try to screw meta over, and bring back the old Meta suddenly to screw the new players and buy old characters) Problem is, you treated Genshin as an RPG game and built like one would build Pokemon builds, focusing on team synergy. But Gacha games don't work like that. They lure you into getting used to a meta then screw you over the next patch.

As a F2P, what I hate the most is the restriction on elements. Yeah, I don't have that many built characters, but I have enough to at least attempt the challenge. I hate when I can't even form my team because my characters don't match the required elements. It can be solved if they allowed less than 4 characters on a team or removed the element restriction.

Or they implement an elemental buff where you get buffed using Electro, Anemo and Pyro, but you can use other elements too. These chars are just weaker - non buffed.

Hoyoverse can't not scream stingy in genshin impact. Here's the characters some of you put hundreds of bucks into, you can use them twice in this new mode. There's a chest on top of that insanely high hill that you will spend 5minutes climbing because of the horrible climbing pace and maybe even fall onto your death because we put a slippery slope at the top, take 2 primogems. Here, answer the survey we will that we will never use to improve the game for a whopping 30k mora, isn't that insane???? Also look at all these quests that have some good story telling but 90% of crazy bloated yapping (just like this comment), you'll probably spend 1 or 2 hours doing them but you'll get an absolutely immeasurable quantity of 60 primogems! Enjoy.

I used to be a whale with some C6 characters and R5 weapons. My main gripe is that the lineups are random and needing a wide range of artifacts. You’ll be using 3-4 characters of the same element which usually means using the same artifacts. Spiral abyss coerced players to min/max a few artifacts for a select few characters. I’m glad they’re taking a different direction though, but I feel the max rewards should be a 10-pull and to increase the spiral abyss’s rewards more.

I had a little difficulty but after a couple tries it was fairly simple. not a big fan of limiting characters or limiting how much you can use said limited characters you already own, but it was kinda fun. it's also another reason for people to build characters that they haven't tried yet, so I think it's pretty good because it's a reason to build characters people usually ignore or just watch random youtuber's build for challenges.

I personally never could've 36 sttared the abyss. I started in 2.5, when imaginerium theater came out i maxed it out all rewards everything the same day. I personally really liked it tought it was cute and fun. I do think that it does fit into genshin cause we finally have a new mode and a new spin on genshin. For some reason what ever the devs do they only get hate. Yes they are greedy and not the best but they take their time and do their best.

I still think spiral abyss is the better endgane content compared to imaginarium theatre. Imaginarium theatre is a bit restrictive and not actually that hard. But hey! AN ENDGAME CONTENT AFTER THE DEVS SAID THEY WON'T RELEASE ANY ALMOST 2 YEARS BACK. It's definitely a step in the right direction, and I'm glad i can actually spend more time in this game.

Because the banners are even morrrreee restricting as well, even if the banners did all just come out too, youd run out of primos faster than barry allen's attention span in ap calculus! Idk if this game is for me anymore man.. Well.. I mean I only have one 5 star at ar 40, I can't even beat the spiral abyss.. My problem is they took the primos from the previous iteration of the spiral abyss and put it into this new endgame. I will be missing out on the total amount of primos in endgame to wish for new characters. Another problem for me is why pull any character if you wont be able to use it in the new endgame

For me, this is interesting content. I'm not a whale, so I "caught" and built various characters, testing different types of gameplay, usually catching them having floor 12 in Abyss in mind. Unfortunately, I couldn't cope with F-12 well enough to get 6-9 stars, and with patch after patch, my performance was getting worse. What's worse, farming artifacts became a chore and frustration. Imagine when, after 3 months of daily farming, you still can't find the last good item and you run around with the 3 worst stats and maxed DEF in the 4th item... I changed the way I played and when I was satisfied with the character I was building, I started building new ones, testing them and playing with them. Often, old items that were still good but worse than new ones ended up on other characters. I felt some frustration when my friends laughed at me because you can transfer artifacts to other heroes, so why am I keeping these items - in their opinion, they were garbage. This made me feel like these characters were being wasted and now I had a chance to use this army for the first time lol. When I entered the theater, I was prepared for a bigger beating than on F12 Abyss, but to my surprise, I won all the rewards on the first attempt, and for the first time in almost 4 years of playing, I'm really happy with myself, even though I didn't complete all the tasks on every level

Since I started years ago I made a goal for myself to build every character I got. Even though people told me I was wasting my time and recources, I was so excited to get to utilize them now! I do get some people hate artifact grinding but I've always had tons of fun doing artifacts all the time and have lvl 20 5 star artifacts on almost all my characters also being around 90-80 leveled for all of them, I hope others don’t feel forced to be amazing all at once or anything like that but I like that for players like me that just wanted to have fun with all our characters and have been clowned on for not having just afew characters with 60 crit rate and 300% crit dmg, but instead have decent consistent dmg for every team can shine and have fun!

The problem is the game not having enough characters the average player would like to have a "wide" account in the first place. Too many character kits suck. And even if there were enough characters you like, where is the resin and primogems to obtain and build them? Nowhere.

The main problem is that you can't use certain elements and still have to have 18 characters above lvl 70. Now this time around it was Electro, pyro and Anemo. But what if Geo is one of them the next time? 90% of players don't even have 6 geo characters let alone lvl to 70 or above. For whales that is no problem but for f2p players that is almost impossible. I have been playing for over 2 years and only barely was able to do the hard one. Even though i easily cleared without using certain characters

well that kinda defeats the purpose of it being an endgame mode. The challenging part of the abyss is the high levels of the enemies. Unlike here, where enemies are just the same or almost the same as the overworld ones, the elemental restriction provides that challenging aspect that endgame modes should have.

One important thing that all players should note is that when it comes to rewards compared to abyss you only need to beat the normal difficulty to get the same amount of rotational rewards as before the Imaginarium theater was added Where beating hard mode is what gives the increase in rewards (primogems) compared to before the update

So part of the problem of Imaginarium Theatre is the requirements are almost an exact opposite to Spiral Abyss? What a nightmare/s Seriously, I think I may really like this gamemode way more than Spiral Abyss, so possibly, this may be my new endgame mode of focus in Genshin :D Also loving that this mode rewards me for considering pulling and building multiple characters, with their own weapon and artifact sets. Plus, creativity in drafting and playing a variety of teams. Guess I now have justification to save and pull for Navia and Wrio at least, despite already having Itto and Ayaka. Without worrying about powercreep. And I guess I can try to work towards building Gaming despite having so many Pyro DPSes.

And some of the points of issue can also be said about Spiral Abyss btw. I guess if you want to 36 stars the Abyss, you have to pick mostly meta characters (unless u whale for underrated characters to get as much out of them), min-max to the fullest, you cant build other characters cause thats resources wasted, and Archon help you if your favourite character isnt supported by the Abyssal blessings, nor enemy line-ups, and the worse is, you have no option to use trials characters, nor friends. So you as a player are forced to adapt to that reality. Especially when that was the only option of endgame available. "So git gud, or ignore it casual" was the treatment players like us received about it. So yeah, I feel less sympathetic about this.

Ive been playing Genshin for a little longer than 1.5 years now. I've always been building my account wide instead of tall, because leveling 80 to 90 is expensive, and minmaxing artifacts sucks anyways. My benchmark for how strong I make my character has always been rather or not they're useful in Abyss 11 and/or against weekly bosses. I never cleared Abyss 12 with more than 3 stars, and on most cycles I don't even bother with Floor 12 at all. That being said, because of the way I build my account, I actually managed to clear Act 8, and for the first time I feel like the game is acknowledging and validated my playstyle. IMO the theater is a great addition, and a great alternative endgame mode and I very much look forward to what they're doing with it in the future.

I’ve played it finished and I recommend newer players to just do easy and normal mode first because the characters that they provide is good enough to carry for more than half of the theatre in east and normal mode

I suppose this just depends on when you started the game. -If you're a new player, you are likely not going to be able to gain SOME access to the spiral abyss or imaginarium theater (IT) until you've played and wished for more than a week or so, based on how fast you progress or pay for primos to obtain the characters. -If you're an old player (AR 35-60), you will likely be able to complete Easy Mode at minimum since it only requires 10 characters for the first 3 acts while having access to the first 8 floors. -If you're a veteran player (AR 60+), you will be able to clear normal mode/hard mode of IT and beat the first 8 floors of spiral abyss (not accounting for whether you obtain the minimum 6 stars needed to unlock floor 9-12). Given that many veteran players have been playing the game for as short as 6 months to as high as 2-3 years, I think that it is just a matter of whether they still had an interest in the game or they were done with it. I personally am not sure what else veteran players do once they have been satisfied with the characters they have built, but if they have refused to build any other characters they have in their arsenal, then they have plenty of time now to do so IF they have been spending their resin on resources. I am the type to go for the minimum for all my characters that I have accumulated and prepare for whatever it is to come. For the ones that have been playing for 3 years with breaks, I think that they should still be capable of doing it no problem since there is also the integration of the supporting cast in which there is bound to be at least one person to willing to take another friend with the increase in the friends list. Spiral abyss from my experience took me about 2 month to get through the first 8 floors without speedrunning through the entire game which would mean that things from the more recent players should be faster as far as I am aware of. Both game modes should be expected to take some time to FULLY reach the end of each one since genshin impact is more of an investment game rather than a burn-through-and-done kind of game because it is just a matter of time investment to prep all characters. As of now, imaginarium theater will reset in about 24 days in which the old players (as classified in the second section) will likely not be able to get the full experience and the same goes for spiral abyss. I cannot imagine how much more investment a character needs that takes about 3 years for either crit stats or stats for supports (solely hp, def, em, etc.) when it comes to veteran players, but if players are unable to think about the future, then that is up to them on whether they want to take that chance. They have had plenty of time to think, prepare, and listen to the insights of other youtubers/friends/players in which I think that IT is not too bad, but may not satisfy a good portion of the playerbase since everyone's desires of what they want in a game will always vary. For new players, I think that this experience is no different than how it was in spiral abyss in which, to me, does not hold much reason to say that the "gamemode sucks". Imaginarium Theater could definitely use some improvements to make the gameplay more worth the time of other players, but it's a start. Not everything can turn out to be a golden egg at the start, but it will take time for it to reach that point.

I'll give a hot take here I am an old f2p player that is struggling to 36 star the abyss (for some reason) Seeing others talk about how easy floor 12 is while i can't finish it is becoming frustrating On the other hand, I was able to complete the imaginarium theater by using the many characters that I have built over the years, and it was kinda fun I don't think there is a problem with the need for horizontal investment in this gamemode. At the end of the day, spiral abyss became repetative and players were not encouraged to try out different characters. In the imaginarium theater you can try different characters and teams every time, and you need to think and plan ahead your teams to succeed

the problem lies with the current segregation of players, we need more categorization beyond World Level 8 / AR 60 if you further categorized players, then we can implement like, an added difficulty multiplier based on the players World Level on an expanded scale (maybe even reach WL10 or beyond)

IMO what developer could have done / CAN DO now is completely remove resin system from game it solves everything , game it self in its final stage now natlan is almost here and only cryo region remains , i think its good time to remove resin system and let everyone farm -play do whhatever they want without waiting for resin and time gated thing as i think when cryo region drops up genshin will be already half way to release genshin 2 or something like that so theres no point keeping player locked up , this way players will give more time to genshin and probably dont get time to think of other gacha games xD amount of rng involved in game farming endless artifacts , xp books , mora , leveling material for 12+ characters will easily coverup 7-10 months , not to mention new character dropping in natlan and cryo region , they will require same amount of time and energy to level up :D so yeah completely remove resin system . tthen i dont mind leveling every single character to 90 and have everyone of them properly geared up with proper artifacts :D

@@TheLovedUnbound i myself have hyperinvested in few characters. Its not an excuse to not built 4*s and standard 5*s. There's a cap how much your resin can give you in terms of one character (xp, mora, talent books, weapon mats) excluding artifacts, which get less and less probable to improve each time you get a new better piece. Thats the point where you want to build more characters, the game already has small incentive to ascend your unused characters (blue wishes), so why not do it? I understand if youre new player, dont have resources to build one hyperfocused team, but grinding the same domain for years is just stupid and a waste of resin and time. On top of that almost all character's BiS/second BiS can be acquired from strongbox so getting enough artifacts for all your characters shouldnt be an issue if you actively play the game long-term

It's not a question of difficulty, it's about how enjoyable the experience is when you can't play characters/teams you bought simply because Mihoyo decides so. Randomizing is NOT a good mechanic to enhance gameplay, it's lazy and undermines the entire 3 year gameplay loop. You don't get random typings in Pokémon every time you battle because that's stupid. You plan everything out and invest in a strategy you enjoy. The majority solution is to borrow characters you don't like/care about to clear. It exemplifies why this mode does not build on Genshin's strategic combat system. It's an alternate that 's completely isolated from the rest of the game. Genshin has been sold in a way players can build and play whomever and however they want. And to take that limitless creativity away and devotion to characters in exchange for "random bull sh*t go" isn't an equal trade.

I think a good compromise would be to recharge a characters energy, using like 10 resin per charge, to give f2p players or vertical investers more accessability for this new endgame. This way they can still clear the theater with their few units, while building more characters meanwhile to avoid paying the 10s of resins in the future.

My take on the whole thing is this: The rewards it gives are so miniscule its just not worth spending time building all of those 4star characters. It just takes too much resin to get the resources, be it talent mats or levels, or weapons, and even with that its the same genshin over and over again, random weak enemies piled together with nothing to give back. Also what was the point in pulling all those 5 stars if i cant use them whenever i want? As a whole it would have been better if they returned that one mode from 2.something where it was dungeons generating randomly with random buffs each time, it would have been way more entertaining and would have bigger replay value.... the way genshin is rn is sad with this basically fake difficulty locked behind leveling up trash characters you wouldnt otherwise use, or damage sponges that just tank the damage, not saying they need to make harder enemies or anything like that, but at least make an enjoyable mode that can actually be for anyone (case in point: the randomly generated dungeon)

I can do the abyss, but can't even enter normal mode, cause all i needed was two teams, and because i'm f2p that's what i was invested in, on those characters for the abyss, because 3 of them are hydro, and other elements that most aren't those in the theater, then i can't play, so basically, my reward has been decreased, so yea, i don't like it + building now so many characters to get into the hard mode with good artifacts and weapons and such would takes too long, and because it's so hard to get new characters it's just a pain in the ass that as someone that can beat any content in the game and any boss is beatable, i can't participate. maybe give us more trial instead of demanding us to use only our characters for the requirements another good solution btw could be either make getting characters (and upgrade them) easier or either let us choose a lot more then one character from friends, that way even if you don't have the characters, your friends might have that and fill that instead of you

If I was a whale, I would have plenty of level 90 5-star and 4-star characters that I would've felt very worthy of building for years. I just started 5 months ago or less, and I just wiped the floor with the 2nd difficulty. Well, I was wiped the first time, but then I did what you're supposed to to, and didn't use my powerful characters until later. The game mode literally gives you characters, too. I still need to try the last difficulty, so maybe they throw in some BS there. Paying attention to whining through making a video is probably the reason for the moderate amount of dislikes on this. Also, the music is cool. The later fight music in the 2nd difficulty felt really different and cool, so I hope the final difficulty continues this.

As a f2p Ar 50 person who plays I’m always on top of new ways to get primos, but I feel handicapped because I don’t have very many characters and it takes a while to build up characters or even save up to get primos to get characters you want. So as a f2p player I feel a little upset because not everyone can invest money into a game or characters so we can get some primos that makes the game less fun and more of a hassle. Because it just makes it a bit harder to grind for primos for the characters we want in a way. I like imaginarium theater and the new way it can bring a bunch of primos to our account but I also wish it wasn’t so restrictive on f2p and new players 😅

If Hoyo is going to employ "gear checks" and "roster checks" together as a revolving endgame benchmark, then they need to also take into consideration that a widely developed account means an ENORMOUS number of completed artifact sets. Resin cap expansion was only one part of the issue I've been hearing about. The other side of that coin seems to be artifact inventory and the loadout system that still isn't fully developed...

I love it actually, it brings me back to v1.0 where nobody knows about meta and we all play with janky team. My fully built Xinyan, Dori and Xiao finally got their uses in end game.

Adding a second Friend Borrow would have helped, a lot...Then it would be 2 borrow and Traveler to cover 3 slots which is more accessible. I would strongly agree that resin gating is a pretty big hinderance to accessibility as you mentioned, currently it takes 246 Purple books for lv 80, at world rank 8 you get between 11-13 books per condensed ley line, so 20 condensed resins (800 resin) or about 4 days to raise a character up. This does not account for the mora cost (another 400 resin) or boss materials (320-440) resin. So over 1 week just for the leveling side, not counting talents/weapon/artifact, although last 2 can be shared. The fix that would be very welcome from players would be to improve the gains from doing domains for talents/artifacts/weapons/xp ley lines and maybe mora ley lines. Additionally, they could throw us a bone and add more 4* characters to the star glitter shop as well as reducing the cost. This would help new players expand their roster and be able to take part sooner. Overall i enjoyed your video, keep up the good work.

Alternatively, instead of increasing the AR requirement they could reduce the character level requirement and the number of characters needed for the easier modes. Also, another issue the mode has is that you need characters of specific elements while the game continues to have a very limited selection of characters and banners available at any given point, making it even worse for newer players.

(Rant while I'm watching the video, if some parts are mentioned, I'll edit my comment) I absolutely despise this game mode. (For context, I'm AR 60, been playing since 1.5, however, I don't have a lot of five-stars since my luck is terrible but that's not the point) My main issue isn't even Elemental limitations (my only built Anemos are Jean and Sucrose and I don't have any built Electro characters besides Shinobu and Fischl) or buffs that are too specific and do little to nothing. What I don't like is the fact that I can't start a battle unless I have four characters in my team and since each character can only be used twice (unless you get lucky with a boon that returns a character to your party), I am forced to sacrifice characters I would need later! I had to run a very weird team for the two Vishaps because my supports were out of energy. Also why can I only choose one character to hire from my friend list per season? Didn't they increase the friend list limit so that we could borrow characters? That's dumb. And why can other people hire my characters for 15 times maximum? It's like they tried to make Simulated Universe like in HSR but made it worse. I played G&G and Swarm Disaster on high conundrum levels and enjoyed them much more than Inaginarum Theater. Not to mention these geniuses at Hoyo put a boss with Electro resistance (Vishaps) and Anemo resistance (Coppelius & Coppelia) in a season when you're only allowed to take three elements, two of which are resisted by the said bosses. Also additional challenges that affect your bonus rewards. The game is asking me to trigger 20 Swirl reactions while not giving me a single Anemo unit. Or asking me to defeat Jadeplume Terrorshroom after it's been exhausted, which means I need Electro characters... But wait, I wasn't given one! At least there are some characters we can take to Imaginarium Theater despite them not being the required element (I've never been THIS grateful to have Alhaitham). This game mode is rather a gambling addiction check/luck check than a skill check, and we lost one Abyss reset for this... Yeah I think I'd rather have Spiral Abyss.

THE 4 CHARACTER ONE IS WHAT MAKES ME ANGRY because I'm sure I can do the first 2 levels without a full 4 team. The elemental restrictions also got me angry because they wanted me to swirl but I couldn't do that but I feel like they give a fair amount of chances to choose characters from the boon things. I am also ar 60 but I've only been playing since 2.5. I think what COULD make this easier is being able to use more of your friends characters because I will go out of my way to friend every whale I come across to get all the primos from this event because as I f2p I cannot pass up this every month. Spiral abyss actually got a little bettering the fact that they give 200 primos per floor for 3 stars than 150 which it used to be.

I think most of the problems would be alleviated if they allowed players to borrow more characters from others. I have a weirdly optimized dolphin account that has both high vertical and horizontal investment. I had acess to my maxed out Alhaitham and Baizhu so I could use aggravate on mutiple acts. It was a lot of fun, but unlike with my case most people would only be able to borrow alhaitham at best.

I was not aware that my account was so different. I rotate through and play different teams all the time. I try to match teams to characters in events. Probably the reason none of my 70+ characters are below lvl. 60. I don't play the Spiral Abyss though. I use to do Belkin and BP but not anymore, this seems like a good way for me to earn more primogems. Once I figure out how the heck it all works...🤷🏻♀

The problem with genshin is that they use force for everything. This shines when instead of incentivising us to use the characters, they force us to do it by locking any other characters. This could be fixed so easily if maybe the boons only catered to the elements chosen in the rotation, or if the characters just got a straight up damage increase in their rotation. But somehow, almost on purpose, they chose the worst possible way to implement this. It's like they're trying to see how unappealing their game can become while still maintaining an audience.

As someone who has focused more on vertical investment i still really don’t care about the issues (besides the ar 35 thing). I am f2p btw If and when i play abyss it’s not because of the mode but the rewards which strips it of personality. Small changes to spice up an event like this go a long way in variety (different looking chambers, character restrictions to make you think about your choices and these like random events that shake up the mix). I may not be ready for this mode, but i’m excited for an endgame that is inherently different and fresh.

Funfact: Another game called Another Eden introduced a challenge mode called Astral archive a while back. Which acted as a way to earn additional Chrono stones, but almost immediately the following months after its introduction, they slowly trimmed down chrono stones from typical achievement rewards, including the `super bosses` that would normally give 100 chrono stones would have a number just bumped down to 50 or even not give any at all (refer to LavoG in Chrono empire part 2 if you wanna look it up). Even if it was `splitting the rewards` to multiple pieces of content, this is a fine example of B.S. by artifically creating the idea you have more content, but instead of providing new rewards for it, it just creates a situation where your doing more stuff, for effectively the same amount of rewards as usual. Which even if other stuff is present, it still doesnt feel well to `reduce` one acquistion gain to just shove it somewhere else. So if Genstingie decided to nerf the already rather stingie reward pool that Spiral abyss granted, even if i dont know the exact amount, is already a fine example of forcing the need to develop more investments (meaning more pull currency and leveling resources used) just to play a game mode that could be BALLS more dickish and rotate the entire cast every `run` so even if you only need just 8 characters to run it, if those 8 characters cant be used in the next rotation, then that means they additively `double` the number of characters you need to develop. Which for a game that apparently has next to nil on improving the grind pricing of its game after what is likely 4~5 years at this point, is a fking death sentence to create MORE demand to grind, aka more of a means to indirectly tell people to fking spend more free-mo-gems on stamina, aka use up the free-mo-gems from the new content, thus invalidaing the reason why you wanna do the new game mode in the first place, if the rewards you get from it are more towards developing characters todo said game mode. Also why in Another Eden, nearly 6 months ago, $tellar `god damn` Awakening was such a garbage system to make me leave said game due to how retardedly monetization heavy hungry it was.
