He wants what she is eating. What's funny is that when they find another gorilla eating food they do not break eye contact with the food like if they did it would disappear.

Note that they only eat grass and bushes because the zoo can't afford food, so any food is carefully inspected to see if it's anything other than grass!

Another peaceful day for the family! Momo indeed has a super fine style no matter what he does - I've recently seen some footages about Mr Shou from Hamamatsu Zoo, maybe he's the only male gorilla who can outperform Momotaro in elegance and dignity. 🙂 Gentaro's facial expression is hilarious when sniffing around Genki's mouth! I have the suspicion that this common gorilla behaviour is beyond begging for food, gluttony or envy, I suppose it's about bonding or something. Thank you for the entertaining video and have a great time with the family!

You must mean Kintaro, Genki seems to have cut the attention to Gentaro, good mother she is but she cut Gentaro off early on an I think that’s why he acted up towards her. I saw Kintaro nursing in a video an he’s 5 yrs old lol an she still cuddles him

@@bigboytoyz541 Yes, 4 years old and he shouldn't be breastfed anymore, and Genki loves him sickly, which Gentaro has never experienced.

@@bigboytoyz541 , Gentaro almost died when he was a baby Genki didn't have milk so the keepers had to bottle feed him for so many months before thay put him back with mom , so she may have lost some bonding with him in that time.

Gentaro is already a mature male, which we had the opportunity to see many times and he should already have his own family! Genki loves Kintaro morbidly, still breastfeeds him, and that shouldn't be the case anymore. The whole family has no natural behavior because they don't live in a herd like gorillas should and the zoo stops Gentaro so Kintaro has someone to play with!

So much wrong here. It is unheard of for a silverback to have only one female. And, an old one at that! He should ha e about 3. He is in his prime. Genki is too old for more children and needs to be moved to a different situation. Put her on Prosec if she acts up. I know all about what she did in the past. The group needs more females and Gentaro needs to move on.
